Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

Why?  Because that was the last time, the very last time and what if we regretted not having them later?  I took an entire roll and had them developed with one set for her and one for me to hold at her request.

This sort of photography was remarkably common in the latter half of the 19th century except it involved the living offspring as well.  And it was done for exactly that reason.

The Rodriguez children aren’t just thin (plenty of people are thin and perfectly healthy), they look GAUNT. How do healthy pre-pubescent children look GAUNT when most kids have a bit of fat right before each growth spurt?!!

Especially dressed in sagging, ill fitting clothes, that look 20 years out of date.

She never mentions getting permission from the parents. Of course, all the leghumpers are defending Kelly saying the picture of the dead babies was beautiful and that it really touched them. I wonder if she would ever post a picture of any of her dead family members?Screenshot_20190611-192820_Instagram.thumb.jpg.eaf7dc31b9c46f82193846e3164a2883.jpg

One of the idiots on her IG commented “Where’s Ben Carson when you need him?”  Umm, 1st of all, Ben Carson is a neurosurgeon, so his skills would be completely useless here. Secondly, I’m pretty sure the parents consulted with numerous specialists and were probably told there was very little that could be done.

Presumably, Kelly is 'pro-life'/anti-abortion and believes in the rights and dignity of all humans.  Posting a photograph of any deceased person is the antithesis of preserving their rights and dignity.  Especially if she didn't have the permission of their parents, Kelly had absolutely no right to post that photo.  Even if they did allow it, the respectful and dignified answer would be to tell the parents that it isn't necessary, that everyone knows their children were beautiful and to ask for prayers for the family without a photo.  Or, you know, ask for a photo of them prior to their deaths, preferably one that showed their faces only instead of using a photo that would exploit their malformation for hits on her site.

ETA: If Kelly thinks that posting a photo of children with a severe malformation who died shortly after birth is somehow going to convince people to carry babies with similar problems to term, she is delusional.

That's how I feel.

Regarding Jill Rodriguez - I hope for their sake one of the girls is in a courtship so they can get the heck out that household.

The Maxwells refuse to give specifics, but this rundown of Anna's and Mary's mission trip is odd to me. We have no idea where they're going and what they're doing.  But they're asking for prayers of a specific nature.

Direct quote from their blog:

"They will be gone for almost 8 weeks. Please pray for these specifics:

Salvation for those being ministered to

Emotional needs to be met

Physical safety

Stamina (long hours with little sleep)

Discernment on how best to minister

Satan to be hindered"

I just viewed the pics of the deceased babies, Kelly Bates is nuts and so are most of the respondents. I hate self righteous nut jobs. I take it they had permission to publish them? Whose nuttier the people who publish them or the people who gave them the permission. Kelly n company would probably show pics of Mary Duggar drowning in the pool.

Yeah, it was just a whole pro life thing. Like " look at these babies, they were only here a few hours and they touched so many lives." Not everyone wants to go through a whole pregnancy and a c section just to birth children that you know are going to die. It was that woman's choice to go through the pain and heartbreak.

I always have to wonder...if some of these babies who are born with no chance of survival, or even a short life spent hooked up to tubes and machines to say nothing of those who linger in constant discomfort in a vegetative state for years could somehow communicate, how many of them would be grateful for the chance given to them by their parents to experience this life rather than be spared from it?

Maybe I'm just cold and heartless, I don't know, and I can understand that there are probably a lot of people for whom being able to hold their baby, even though it might be stillborn or otherwise not  viable, would represent some sense of closure, plus I suppose there is always the chance to cling to that the diagnosis was wrong. There are a lot of legitimate reasons why someone would want to go through with the birth. But in the long run, how many of those are actually for the sake of the parents rather than for the baby?

They’ve got to be going to a country where it’s illegal to try and convert others. With the length of time, I’d guess a country in the Middle East.

The American Cancer Society is  fighting with none other than..... Plexus!

Yes, really. Plexus claims its 35 dollar kit can help detect breast cancer and it's partnering with the ACS to save lives. The ACS claims it had not teamed up with Plexus and wants Plexus to remove the ACS from its packaging and marketing.

I always found Plexus to be suspicious. It's part of the unregulated supplement industry. It's also seems to be sold by lots of fundies.

A friend of a friend friended me on FB. I wasn't sure why he friended me and asked her the deal on him. He wasn't hitting on me, he is gay and in a relationship for years..... but, he sells Plexus. He has never approached me or anything about it. He is quite religious but is a really nice guy. When my father passed he said some very kind things to me. I don't comment or like his Plexus pictures. I don't want to tempt fate.

"I really wanted to have only one child, but if God wanted me to have 2 then I will take 5."  Sounds like a Fundie saying, actually it was a dog owner saying, I changed out dog and inserted baby, but it sure sounds like something a Fundie would spew out.

What Fundies running scams n such? Say it isn't so.

Sounds like they are a bunch of grifters and scam artists to varying degrees.

I've been watching a lot of The Rockford Files lately, and it just dawned on me today, that all of these famous fundies are basically like a less entertaining version of Rockford's squirrelly con artist friend Angel. Just without any of Angel's weird sleazy charm or sense of humor or (admittedly low levels of) competence at scams. 😂😂😂

Now, here's something out of left field. I can't figure out how to bring it over here from Facebook, but someone on the "Fundie Wonderland" page made this discovery. I'll quote what she said, but, as I said, can't figure out how to add the screen shot she included of his subscriptions.

Let's chat about David Waller, husband of Priscilla (Anna Duggar's sister). He has a You Tube channel with cringy videos he takes of his wife talking in baby speak.

But the interesting thing I found you can see which You Tube channels he subscribed to below lol.

Most are religious themes except one gaming site (face of the game) which only posts videos of game play of blonde tanned babes half naked fighting with swords

I suppose at the very least this could indicate that he actually has an appreciation for the female form.

Edited to add that now unfortunately I need the brain bleach for visions I'm getting of David getting Pris to dress up like this (can anyone figure out how to post the screen shot?) and wave a sword around. Or maybe he dons the outfit himself...

I clicked on one of the videos to watch. In the comments, people are stating that they don't remember subscribing to this channel and that this used to be some sort of news channel. So I'm not sure that David intentionally subscribed to this channel.

No Jill, the Queen did not say this. 😂😂😂

I know there is sucker born every minute, but do these people actually think that Elizabeth the Queen would ever utter "you know" in an interview, use contractions or sentence fragments?

Also Jillzy, the Queen is an Anglican.  Don't you believe that she is on the express train to hell?

I just cruised over to Jill's IG page and snort laughed at this one:

Yeah, um...I hate to break it to you and your "powerful truth," Jill, but atheists don't "hate" something they don't even believe exists. Kinda like I don't hate Bigfoot, the fake moon landing, and your sense of reason.

We don't hate Christians either... Our animosity is more reserved toward those who actively peddle toxic cults and conspiracy theories.

And we don't look too kindly on those who want to see this (or any) country's laws and educational standards being dragged back into the dark ages either.

Let's hope the prodigal son learns how to write properly, and then he can teach his idiot mother.

Tim is an arrogant, know-nothing fool just like his mother.

The prodigal still reminds me of Kiefer Sutherland in Lost Boys, and like Kiefer Sutherland in just about every role I've seen him in, the prodigal gives me the creeps.
