@magdalene *Hyperventilates* I can't...It's so... I mean, amazing! I read them first as a teenager too, and I still read them from time to time (they're one of the reasons I didn't finish Outlander* - Dorothy Dunnett proved it's possible to write dense, clever historical fiction without succumbing to tired clichés).

*Okay, it's really just her writing style that puts me off. I still read Victoria Holt (Eleanor Hibbert), so I'm falling right off my high horse when it comes to snobbish aspirations ;)

I hope this will actually be filmed. Just because somebody buys the rights doesn't mean it will happen. I remember Peter Jackson optioning the wonderful Temeraire books and nothing ever came from it.

Ideally somebody like HBO should do Lymond, or maybe Starz. The BBC seems to have big money problems these days.

I haven't read the Outlander books but I have watched the first season on Starz and gave up on it because of the rape porn. However, if Starz were willing to tackle Lymond because of their Outlander series success I would indeed be grateful to Outlander, lol.

While out on my daily walk, I happened to listen to the podcast titled, "The Skillet of Justice" from the podcast series Poldark Podcast as discussed by three lovely ladies from the U.K., France, & the U.S. All three are avid Poldark fans and have read the books, and I assume, have seen P75. Anyway, it brought me back to the first two episodes of season two when Ross was tried for all those ridiculous charges. I did not know it at the time of watching those episodes, that it was the first meeting of all the major players gathering in support of Ross or conspiring to have him murdered. Ross and Demelza re-igniting their love after the loss of Julia; Francis in descent of despair and contemplating suicide; Elizabeth torn by her need to save Ross by desperately, foolishly, arranging meetings between George and Ross; Aunt Agatha, astute as ever, watching Elizabeth pace with indecision about traveling to Bodmin; George Warleggan, Cary Warleggan, and that slimy snake Tankard, plotting Ross' demise; and Dwight Enys and Caroline Penvenen's first meeting when she asked him to save her dog, Horace. Two outstanding episodes that probably bolstered my fascination of the Poldark tales.

I usually don't care about actors' real lives, but I came across these articles...

It has been confirmed that Eleanor Tomlinson (Demelza) has her eyes on a Poldark co-star. She was spotted hanging out with Harry Richardson (Drake Crane) in London recently. They were photographed kissing and hugging in rather public places in the city.

Tomlinson and Richarson play siblings in the BBC One hit series. There are speculations that the pair became close during the filming of Season 3. Richardson is among the new cast members of the show. The 25-year-old actress split from Poldark stuntman Ben Atkinson earlier this year.

Richardson and his on-screen brother, Tom York (Sam Crane), are Turner’s competition to fans’ hearts this season, but Richardson admitted that they couldn’t compete with Aidan Turner. “You can’t compete with Aidan, man. I did try and have a go with a prop scythe but those things are impossible to cut with. It’s really hard, proper manual labour and I gave up. It’s a lot harder than it looks,” Richardson tells Radio Times.

Demelza's brother in (her) arms: Poldark star puts on a flirty display with her television sibling as their secret off-screen romance is revealed

To Poldark fans, they are siblings Demelza and Drake – so the sight of Eleanor Tomlinson and Harry Richardson kissing might lead some to choke on their cornflakes.

The Daily Mail can reveal the pair are dating and enjoyed an intimate stroll through Wimbledon last week, where they were seen kissing and cuddling.

Masterpiece Studio is producing an Insider's Guide to Poldark that you can sign up for and get inside scoops, clips & interviews and podcasts.  I would post this in the Poldark Media thread, but I fear it would get lost in that thread. Perhaps the Mod can move it after viewers sign up and get a sense of the guide, but I post it here just because most viewers are still posting here.  Anyway, here it is: Masterpiece Studio Insider's Guide to Poldark

Poldark Renewed For Season 5 By BBC One!

Poldark Season 5 is slated to premiere in 2019 on the BBC in the UK and PBS in the US, with the door open for a sixth and potentially final season in 2020.

Before then, Poldark Season 4 premieres summer 2018 on BBC One and fall 2018 on PBS.

Interesting. I presume S4 is going to bring them up to the end of book 7. So does this mean they’ll do the ten year time jump and then take two seasons for the remaining 5 books?

With the mention of "a sixth and potentially final season," I would guess too unless they're planning on inventing new stuff entirely to bridge the gap they'd have to cover the seventh book in this upcoming S4 and then do the rest of the books after the time skip over the final two seasons.  That makes as much sense as anything else.  Of course that means the show will then have to go the Outlander route of trying to age really really attractive actors like Aiden Turner to pass as parents of now adult children.

Not exactly about Poldark in the Media, but we don't have a thread for 'Poldark Cast in Other Roles' ...

Eleanor Tomlinson (Demelza) is one of the leads in the new British adaptation of H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds - and her little son is played by Woody Norman (Valentine)! It premiered in Australia tonight but I don't know when/if it will screen in the USA. I quite enjoyed the first couple of episodes.
