maraleia February 21, 2015 Share February 21, 2015 The award-winning host continues his anarchic talk show. Guests include sporting icon David Beckham, Hollywood star Will Smith, Australian actress Margot Robbie, starring in Focus, and Wolverine star Hugh Jackman, appearing in Chappie. Plus music from Noel Gallagher performing Ballad of the Mighty I. Link to comment
FormerMod-a1 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 Another show with a bazillion guests. Guess I shouldn't complain too much though, at least it's airing on BBCA again. And these are all guests I liked (well, I'm still watching so I may change my mind later). 1 Link to comment
peeayebee March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 I thought it was a good show. Will Smith has such charisma. I wish we could have heard more from Margot Robbie. She seemed pretty funny and sharp. I enjoyed seeing Hugh Jackman and David Beckham just talking like friends. Both of them seem like really nice guys. I don't think I've ever seen Beckham on a talk show before. I'm not even sure I've heard him speak. 1 Link to comment
ChicagoCita March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 As a fan of English football, it's been interesting to see Beckham evolve over the past couple decades. He's been mocked for having a high voice (one pundit said something like, he has the looks of a silent picture star, and the voice of one as well), and I don't think he's overly smart, but he's certainly cultivated a genial public persona. I'm always surprised to find myself enjoying his public appearances as much as I do. He was smart enough to let the very sharp-witted and gregarious Hugh Jackman take the lead in their joint interview. His obvious passion when he was talking about UNICEF was very touching. To go from "the most hated man in England" (see link) after the 1998 World Cup to a humble humanitarian, sort of a Smokin' Hot EveryDad, is quite a feat and my hat is off to him for achieving that. Even though I'm not a Manchester United fan, I cringed a bit to hear Graham introduce him as "Manchester's greatest ever footballer." He was very good, with corner kicks that could make you weep, but the greatest? Bold statement. I couldn't tell if both segments were filmed at the same time or not. Did anyone more observant than I notice if Graham was wearing the same clothes? Weird not to have the Red Chair. 2 Link to comment
attica March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 He's been mocked for having a high voice I remember the first time I'd ever heard him speak; I had to stop what I was doing to gawp. He's worked on that, I think. It's definitely less high-pitched and whiny than it was. Will Smith has such charisma. That is no lie. It's incredible how much charm and ease he emits. Robbie struck me as pleasant enough, but nowhere near the league of repartee she was inserted into. I'm sorry I never saw Jackman as Gaston. I will see Chappie, I think, when it comes into my house-video-content machines. I liked both of the director's other flicks, and geez, who doesn't like SigWeave?! Link to comment
SmithW6079 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 (edited) Will Smith has such charisma.I find him insufferable. I don't know if it's his affiliation with the cult of Scientology or the way he keeps trying to shove his son down the public's throat as the newest action star and his daughter as a recording artist.Hugh Jackman and David Beckham would have such beautiful babies. I was surprised at how sweet Beckham came across. Edited March 8, 2015 by SmithW6079 2 Link to comment
Ailianna March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 I love Will Smith, and in fact have saved my original DVR recordings of both his prior appearances on this show. I was hoping for something fun and epic again (30 million views!! I love that dance!!), and while Will was certainly charming and fun and lovely, it was too quick and he didn't get the same chance to really shine. Hugh wasn't as much fun as last time either, though he also did well. I suspect, since they referenced that Will and Margo's movie was opening that night, that those two had only limited time, and perhaps Hugh did too. But the half and half shows aren't as much fun for me. I think the real fun comes as people relax and get comfortable together. Though I did notice that Graham still worked some way for Will to be interactive with the audience again! 1 Link to comment
dubbel zout March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 It cracked me up that a few people booed when Beckham mentioned his boys were at the Arsenal Academy. Hee. His commitment to Unicef is really impressive, though Unicef doesn't take on people who aren't willing to put in the work. I'm not a giant Will Smith fan for a lot of reasons, but his charisma is undeniable. Link to comment
dusang March 9, 2015 Share March 9, 2015 When Graham brought up "hover hands" my first thought was of the Robin Thicke scandal and I thought, "this is a weird thing to admire Will Smith for, but I approve his photo-taking choices." Link to comment

Was Hugh's last appearance when he told the story about wearing the leather X-Men suits for the first time and how they couldn't get over the curb in the parking lot? My favorite show was the Monuments Men one from last season. Link to comment
Ailianna March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 Hugh's last appearance was with James MacAvoy and Michael Fassbender before the last X-Men movie came out. He didn't talk about the leather but he did talk about the naked shoot and his "bits and bobs". 1 Link to comment
