Love that Haim knows the words to "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling!" I read that they come from a musical family. And I enjoyed that song with Tom Jones and woman whose name I missed. Liked her voice, not the outfit with the panties so much.

I also wondered who the blond chick with V-cut shirt was and then I realized it was Gaga. Wow, she kind of fell off, didn't she? And why is she at the Grammy's dressed like a porn star? I think she was probably going for Donatella but she looks like she's nominated for Best Anal Scene at the AVN Awards.

Love Sam Smith and glad he won -- not sure he had much competition, to be honest -- but he feels kind of like a one-hit wonder. Gorgeous voice, but he's going to have to step his game up if he wants to hang around. He has to show he can do more heartbroken-lover ballads.

Ugh, Ariana. Ariana proves why some people don't become stars...she's a pretty girl, pretty voice, she seems sweet, but ol girl has almost no ability to entertain. What was that? And why did they say "as you've never seen her"? Mumbling through a mopey ballad? We haven't seen that before?

Love Jessie J, but they're not using her right. One of the best singers to come out in the past five years and they use her sing some tired song with tired ass Tom Jones like they're Sonny and Cher? No. I wanna see her strut through the audience singing "Bang Bang", working everybody. She also looks kind of like Pink.

"Happy" won. I'm...not, ironically. I never got the point of this fucking song and why everybody likes. And I don't understand why Pharrell insists on wearing shorts to events. But you know, it would be kind of cool to hear him sing that song with Smokey Robinson. I don't know if that's already happened, but they have similar voices. But yeah, I'll be happy to never hear that song again.

Pharrell Williams seems like such a nice guy that even though I give the side-eye to Happy's inclusion in the awards eligibility I'm happy for him (didn't mean that, I can't think of another appropriate adjective.)

Shut UP, Taylor.

Every time I see them flash to John Legend I just want him to sing Nutmeg.

Oh Pharrell, you do not have to say Taylor Swift is a great artist, especially for that horrible "Shake it Off".

Bermuda shorts/tuxedo pants? The stupid hat was bad enough.

Oh good. So the nine o clock hour all I will be missing is a performance by Kanye West and Madonna. Zzzzzz.

Can't believe Happy is still winning. Wasn't that song last year?

Sam smith, yea, not what I pictured him looking or sounding like based off of his radio voice. He seems like such a sweet guy though and I liked his interview with Seacrest on the red carpet.

I think I'm in that awkward phase in my 30's where either the artists are from before my time or I have no frickin' clue who half these young people are. No wonder I hit the wine so early.

He does seem like a nice guy. I just am not a fan of his music. He has a nice voice, but the constant emo ballads bore me.

I'm still irrationally annoyed that all of Taylor Swift's nominations are Shake It Off.  Blank Space was a much better song.

Happy seems to have been out forever - wasn't it nominated for the Oscars this time last year?  And I think Pharrell actually has a weaker voice than any of the pop girls, including Taylor, Selena Gomez, and Miley Cyrus.  But it's a catchy, well-put-together song.

He just settled a plagiarism suit with Tom Petty.

Oh, I know. It just doesn't sound the same to me.

Maybe it's because Tom Petty doesn't scream and overemote the song a la Michael Bolton.

I can't look at Sam Smith without thinking of Taram Killam's funny imitation of him (basically, just looking like you're on the verge of tears.)

LOL at the Grohl cutaways. He's what tooly corporate types think of as a "rock star."

She said it was the only song eligible. I'm not sure how the timing of those things work, especially with Happy being 29 years old and getting nominated.

Miranda always seems like she's about 12 seconds from an E!True Hollywood Story of her meltdown.

I am not a country music fan at all. What the hell is this Miranda Lambert train wreck? Something about a red wagon? I have no words.

I am (somewhat) a fan of country music (from the 90's)... and no. I have no clue what that was about. By my third glass of wine, I'll probably be shouting "Little red wagon!" randomly, because that was all I got out of that.

Was she bleeped? What the hell could she have said that had to be bleeped? I couldn't understand half of that! Is she the Ariana Grande of country?

Shake It Off was the only song eligible b/c it was released as a single before the cut-off date for this year's Grammys.  The album (and subsequent songs) were released after the deadline, so will be eligible for next year's awards.

I see he came dressed in his usual attire of "Just finished mowing the lawn/what the hell is a brush?" With bonus "dirt" stains on the denim.

Wait, what's the name of Ed Sheeran's album?  I thought it was either pronounced like the letter, or as "Ten".  But that doesn't sound like what the voiceover person said.

ELO is coming up!  Oh jeez, I LOVEDLOVEDLOVED Jeff & the boys back in the day.  "Telephone Line" still gets me every time.

I will belt the shit out of "DoYa" anytime I hear it in the car (see also:Rush). Maybe I/we should seek out a Matlock marathon!

It's funny: Miranda Lambert is one of the biggest acts in country, but she comes off like an actress who sings. Like she used to be on a show nobody on CW five years ago. Her character got killed off, and then she decided to try to a country music career. That...wasn't good. It was a few steps up from a chick with two Michelob Ultra's in her at the karaoke bar.

Aw, the Bee Gees. They're proof that sometimes selling out actually works. Most people don't realize that the Bee Gees used to make earnest, soft ballads (i.e. I Started A Joke) and wore suits. We only remember the Saturday Night Fever shirt-buttoned-down-to-their-navel super-falsetto Jimmy Fallon/Justin Timberlake Bee Gees with the Judge Judy hair. Just sayin'.

Aaaand Sam wins another. Again: not much competition. Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus should not be nominated for shit with "Vocal" in the title.

I think it's called X. Last time it was a math symbol. Eventually he'll switch to chemistry signs.

Oh hell, LL just gave another dreams speech. B l ech
