Yeah, you and about 10,000 other people. That prediction has been going around fandom since last fall.

No big deal. 123BP didn't say s/he was the ONLY one who was right. (I only answered this here because the original post was here.)

Quick question: I saw that they've already filmed 2 episodes for season 9 (off JPK and Tunell's Twitter). Does anyone know if those two are the first episodes of the new season? Thanks!

They're not. I believe they're two "stock" episodes that can be stuck in as filler.

Episodes are given numbers based on the order they are filmed, not the order they are aired.

Plus, Rick Tunell did not write these episodes. He directed 901, which was written by Harimoto.

These are episodes that will air sometime later in season 9; they are not the first two episodes of the season (A friend didn't believe me so she actually called--how embarrassing!!!) XD

http://www.showbiz411.com/2017/06/22/exclusive-ncis-and-ncis-los-angeles-adding-two-female-characters-is-someone-leaving-we-love-linda-hunt?ref=yfp

I’m told that “NCIS: Los Angeles” is adding two female characters. I don’t know if anyone is leaving but it better not be Linda Hunt. She’s the heart and soul of the whole thing. (She should be getting Emmy nominations, PS.)

The two characters include a new “NCIS: Los Angeles” assistant director in her 40s. She’s described as “Confident & clever, with a sense of humor, an authoritative figure who takes over operations when needed. She’s a natural leader with a strong presence, but not afraid to get her hands dirty in the field if necessary.”

The other character seems like a romantic foil for Mark Harmon on the mothership show “NCIS.” Her name is Reagan, also in her 40s, and not unwilling to clash with Gibbs. Each of the characters come with long resumes. Reagan is also a psychologist.

It is a bit unclear from the article whether or not NCIS LA is adding one or two characters, or whether the universe is adding two characters in total with one going to each show. The NCIS LA character they described sounds a lot like Kensi...

While I actually would be fine with Hetty leaving (note, I don't mean Linda Hunt), that's not what this sounds like. The first female sounds like a replacement for Grainger :( and the second sounds like a way to move them over to the mothership. I would actually be impressed if they replace Grainger with a female as that means amnaction drama on main stream network would have an equal amount of female to male characters (more if you count Anna).

Kensi and Deeks will have some wedding hurdles as Deeks is hesitant to tell his mother that they are engaged.

Oh, no!  If there's one recurring guest character who is the MOST annoying and obnoxious, it's Deeks' mom!! Whatever "problem" she has with her son getting married, I hope she deals with it off-camera.

I like the idea of another woman character--but I hope they don't have too much conflict between her and Hetty (that was so lame when Kensi always had cat fights with other female agents, like Talia and over Deeks--so unprofessional). The article mentions that the new Asst. Dir. will go into the field (like Granger), so I wonder if that means Nell and Eric will remain in ops more often (they kind of hinted at that at the end of last season with both of them seeing Nate because of their difficulty adjusting to violence and killing).

jpk tweeted that Monty's coming back. I'm a dog lover--always have been--but Monty's just a distraction (like that box), so I hope that he appears very seldom and only briefly

Don't worry, no matter how often Monty appears, I doubt he'll have a lot of lines.?

hahaha It's not his lines I'm worried about (that might be cool). It's the screen time they waste on him and the lines of the humans about him (like I care that he listens to NPR). XD

As much as I like Monty, I don't care all that much about seeing him--or hearing about him and his "anxiety" issues (seriously?), but I also heard that Deeks' mom might be back. OMG, she's the MOST annoying guest EVER (almost as bad as that perky FBI agent in Battle Scars--I hope we never see her again). And please, NO STUPID MOLE PLOTS. Am I bad--enough with complaints. I'm hoping the only "extra" stuff will be the banter between the characters. We got a lot of "serious" talk between Kensi and Deeks last season, so maybe--with the murder of Michelle at the end of 8--we'll get some soul-searching conversations and scenes between Callen and Sam. I'd LOVE to see Janvier return if only for an episode or two, more Arkady (I'm still waiting for a scene between Callen, Anna and Arkady), and I'm curious about who is searching for Tobias and where that leads (I hope it doesn't lead to the CIA--again). To be honest, I'm a little worried about the new Asst. Director and her chemistry with Hetty and the rest of the team (Miguel was so perfect); it's a fine line between being bitchy and being tough.

Here's a new case: Monty has a lady friend (or as Deeks calls them, a "ladybird"), and she gets kidnapped by the antagonist because her collar contains military secrets, so Monty has to rescue her--with the help of Kensi and Deeks, naturally--and then Monty and his lady take their place in the wedding of Kensi and Deeks. lol

SAM IS ADAMANT THAT CALLEN FIND A NEW PARTNER AND THE TEAM MEET THEIR NEW BOSS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SHAY MOSLEY, ON THE NINTH SEASON PREMIERE OF “NCIS: LOS ANGELES,” SUNDAY, OCT. 1

Nia Long Joins the Cast as Executive Director Shay Mosley

“Party Crashers” – After Hetty turns in retirement papers and then disappears, Executive Assistant Director Shay Mosley (Nia Long) arrives in Los Angeles to oversee the team and immediately makes staffing changes. Also, still mourning the death of his wife and living in a trailer on the beach, Sam is adamant that Callen find a new partner, on the ninth season premiere of NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, Oct. 1 (9:30-10:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Living in a trailer on the beach?  What abt his kids?  Do we find out he sold their house?

Sam's kids are in school (Kam was off to the military academy last season and Aiden is either still there or graduating). We can find out what happened to his house in one line of dialogue.

The producers are keeping everything close to the vest--most of the action in the promo is from season 8 episodes. In other news, several sources have stated that both Anna and the admiral will be making return appearances in season 9. Anna will be an ATF agent and the admiral will be working with Hetty on her shenanigans.

are they going to have deeks/kensi get married this season, like during sweeps/finale

Oh, Lord, I hope not! I don't mind if they get married, but if it happens, I hope it's low key - like McGee's on NCIS and takes place at the end of an episode - and the writes don't make a big deal out of it. This isn't a soap opera (although sometimes episodes from past seasons have felt like it).

So, in one of the sneak peeks for "Fool Me Twice" Joelle mentions that the jeans she's wearing probably belong to Anna Kolcheck. How does she know about Anna? Is she keeping tabs on Callen?

Any hope for some NCIS: LA spoilers? — Martia

I can exclusively reveal that Ashley Spillers will be returning as Nell’s older sister, Homeland Security Specialist Sydney Jones, for an episode slated to air in March. The hour, titled “Goodbye, Vietnam,” finds the team needing to leverage every possible ally while undergoing a mission to save Hetty. “Having talented, fearless, and funny actors is one of the greatest parts of the job and Renee and Ashley play off each other so well that you want their characters to open their own detective agency,” executive producer R. Scott Gemmill says. “We had so much fun in the 200th episode that we couldn’t wait to team them up again.”

I really like Kensi as a character, but I thought tonight's episode was one of the most boring I've seen. The premise--revenge for a parent's death--is getting old and tired, but the whole episode just seemed dull and too many scenes seemed pointless. The fight scene was good, but what's with the phone call Sam made with the phone from the drug bust--he just called and then what? Went back and sat down? How dumb was that? And a woman who's been on a mission to avenge her father's murder and killed three men without a second thought and with military precison is talked out of killing the man responsible by a complete stranger? Seriously? And Callen--with Sam in danger of being killed by the woman--doesn't take her out, but let's Kensi talk to her and try to persuade her after she's already murdered three men AND fired a rocket-propelled grenade at their vehicle? Seriously? Who wrote this junk? Oh, right, Erin (boring) Broadhurst. She's almost as bad as Jordana. Why do the women writers on this show seem to have such a problem writing tight, action-filled episodes? They must get to write because they're producers; too bad their work is so consistently second-rate and lacking in any REAL emotion or genuine drama.

great "spoiler" there 123BP:)

I put it here because the episode hadn't aired in the Midwest or West yet (I realize I should have put it under season 9 with spoilers). Sorry to disappoint you. XD

Tunell put the calendar on Twitter and see that Callen's sister is making an appearance. Looks as if some of his family will be involved in an episode; I was beginning to think they'd all died or moved away. Hope the writers don't screw the pooch and actually write a decent episode (the most recent have been pathetic).

Any teases on the two-hour NCIS: LA finale? — Tony

NCIS: Los Angeles is currently filming their two-hour season finale, which will air on Sunday, May 20. The team will be headed to Mexico for a rescue mission — one that is tied to a teammate’s family member. It is a very risky operation and some of the team will have reservations about completing the rescue.

See this article? http://www.buddytv.com/articles/ncis-los-angeles/ncis-los-angeles-interview-and-68259.aspx

Andrea says the finale is going to be a cliffhanger. I'm guessing the rescue is Mosley's son and the cliffhanger is something goes wrong, but more important, does that mean season 10 is a go?

Link to comment

OK, I'm bored.

Need a cliff hanger with the given framework: in Mexico, Mosely's missing son, Son's Father a wanted criminal.

Really almost too easy an answer (in The Lady or the Tiger) genre: Mosely has to decide whether to recover her son or to take down his Father, the arms dealer.  Either is guaranteed success but (somehow) both can't happen.

Will NCIS: LA’s Deeks and Kensi ever get married? So many viewers are waiting for their wedding.

Well, we now know Deeks has been scouting on venues. So… baby steps? “Is there eventually going to be a wedding? Yeah,” Eric Christian Olsen recently ventured. The bigger question, he said, is this: “Is there going to be a lot of stuff to work through before we get there?” As he elaborated, “There’s some crazy stuff [in the last two episodes] that’s incredibly personal, and the goal with Deeks is always to play the human element of it; not the Bruce Willis version, but a guy who is flawed and is terrified of losing the love of his life. And as we continue to put ourselves in danger, at some point it becomes emotionally exhausting for him, like, ‘What is the plan here?’ So there are some interesting conversations about that – obstacles in an emotional sense, that make for compelling scenes.”

I saw at the wrap-up party someone said about being ready for S10. So I think it is a go, even through not official.

I hope they rescue her son, allowing Mosely to leave and her loyalist.

Okay, S9E22 looks good! The promo pics raise a lot of questions: Where's Anna? Why's Callen NOT wearing an NCIS vest? Where are they? Who's the woman behind Sam? Glad they're not letting Anna's shooting of Sokolov just disappear. So far, the writers are doing a good job of wrapping up stories or at least keeping them in the mix--not letting them just drop off. So, Bar got a cast chair. I wonder what that means about Anna? If she becomes a semi-regular, that's okay (I can't see her joining the team if she's in a relationship with Callen--and I can't see her joining the team if she isn't). Somebody said the title means vendetta is Spanish or Portuguese; seems to be a lot of anger since the hiatus.
