If Yolanda bows out for health reasons-and I do see a remission in her future about mid June, I can see Kim being dropped.  I think it depends if Kim gets off her duff and comments about the show after the season is over.  If Bravo is being told she is taking care of sick Monty and she is on vacation, they may not want to deal with her.  Same with her mentally ill child and the vicious dog-how much can they deal with for a marginal person like Kim.

 

I think the law suit will have the greatest impact on Bravo.  That's not something they want to deal with and so far, Kim's friend hasn't backed down.  She might if Kim offered her a settlement but I doubt Kim has the money to do that.

It wouldn't be Kyle's fault but Kim would blame Kyle for not going to bat for her with Bravo.  Aside from that, Kyle may not want to deal with the fallout if that happens.  That's why I think we're stuck with the Bichard Sisters.

Well she got the job because of Kyle, she kept the job because of Kyle, in spite of being a drunk and skipping out of rehab, she had attacked about half the cast and now she is on shaky ground because she has zero loyalty to her sister.  The only family member I think would be upset is Kathy Hilton and she seems to be busy with her friend LaToya Jackson on some reality show. I think the rest of the family is upset with seeing the sisters battle it out on TV.

 

I think Kim is expecting a windfall when Monty passes or an excuse not to work on RHOBH due to a prolonged mourning period and will give her an excuse not to work.

Kathy Hilton was also Charlie Sheen's ex-wife's (the druggie one) 'support system' on some other reality show a few years ago - a total failure.  Now she's LaToya Jackson's friend.  Hmm - why not be the support system to your own addict sister off camera.   And not judge your other sister.  Jeesh.

I agree Lotus Flower - at one point I think she was in a more favorable power position, but I think her sister's antics over the years weakened her power.  For me, if Kyle were to insist they were a package deal, then buh-bye Kyle,   Kathy is smart enough to get that Kim screwed herself out of a job all by herself - she understands the Hollywood game - so if she's perverse enough to blame Kyle for it, then she's as vile as Kim is.  And if Kyle is stupid enough to put on the hairshirt - then she's learned nothing from this clusterf*ck situation.

I would think that if Evolution remains part of the law suit, they'd be angry at Kim and less likely to be nice to her. They have a team of in-house lawyers and more on retainer. They could keep filing motions and getting postponements which would wind up costing Kim a fortune in legal fees.

Co-defendants often have different lawyers, which I'm sure is the case here. Postponements to the case might affect Kim, but not financially.

Don't the lawyers have to show up in court to get a postponement?  If that's true, then they bill their client for their time per hour (including travel).

It really depends, sometimes there's an agreed order to postpone, which doesn't require everyone to show up, but literally everything costs at least some billable hours so none of it is free.

Kim's lawyer(s) isn't the one asking for postponements or dismissals - Bravo/Evolution's lawyers are. Different parties, different lawyers.

No facts.  In fact looking at past seasons between seasons 1 and 2 Kim and Kyle weren't speaking.  They were not on good terms between Seasons 2 and 3.  So that doesn't bode well for the assertion they are a package deal.  They do have the same manager but I doubt there is any package deal.  If Kim doesn't get rehired I think she will blame Kyle.

It has taken on a life of it's own. I have heard it repeated only on forums such as this. I cannot believe that if it was ever said, that someone hasn't been able to find where it was said by Kyle, Kim, or Andy, who are the only people I would ever believe about this. Sites like Tamra Tattles or Stoopid HW's, who are always running old clips or interviews, would have uncovered this by now, especially since there has been so much talk all season long about how Kim and Kyle are a package deal. It is the equivalent of the story over on the NJ show about how the Gorga's sent in some tape promising to "take down" Teresa. It gets repeated over and over again and pretty soon folks are acting like it is legitimate.

Guliana Rancic; she's good villain material. And she gives Rinna some competition for scary skinny.

So do I.  I get the feeling that many parts of her life have changed with her illness.  I'm not a Yolanda fan by any means but I felt that whatever odd obligation she felt to Brandi has also weighed her down.  I'd like to see what she has to offer in a Brandi-free environment.

I keep waiting for Bravo to give us the ultimate present by firing Brandi's obnoxious ass and hope we won't be kept in suspense for too much longer. I'm preparing myself to be disappointed but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that Brandi will be sacked. I know better than to hope that the RumRaisin will get canned but I still feel that it's possible that people are correct in thinking that maybe LisaR was brought on as a kind of replacement for Brandi.

 

OTOH if there were whispers about bringing in a new castmember we would have heard them by now, right?

Brandi was talking with Tori Spelling's husband's ex-wife and they were talking about doing a cheating, woman scorned show.  My guess is no one, including Leeza Gibbons wants to co-star with Brandi after her treatment of LvP.

Hope ZM doesn't mind me correcting her, but Gretchen & Slade and Aviva & Reid weren't on Couple's Therapy, but another similar show - I think it's called Marriage Bootcamp. And yes, I'm embarrassed for knowing this. I haven't seen it, though (I swear!), and I didn't see Simon & Alex on Couple's Therapy, either, but I did see the show with Taylor and John. Taylor was the same old Taylor, and John said not a word.

They are on the fence with Kim because they are afraid that she will be completely lost without the show (my guess is the truth is that they are wanting to film the aftermath of the not!relapse and arrest).

It's a very reliable source. I don't want to out the person on a public forum but they are very involved. there's a part of me that's still a teeny bit skeptical, but that's because I don't want to set myself up for intense disappointment, lol.

If they send them to represent their shows, they are in for the season. That was our first sign that Yo, Kim and Kyle were coming back, because they were the ones doing publicity for the event. Bravo doesn't publicly comment on a HW not coming back. We have to wait for the HW to tell us, or for it to leak out. I remember last year that Carlton said she was never told by Bravo that she wasn't coming back, they just never contacted her about a contract. 

 

I wish that they would bring in someone who is just bat-shit crazy. Someone who possesses zero self-awareness, but fits in with the cast. I am thinking of someone like a Ramona or a Vicki. Now, I detest both of these gals to my core, but I love to snark on them. They fit in socially with the rest of the cast as far as their homes, careers, etc., but they have zero ability to edit themselves or alter their behavior for TV. They just cannot because they cannot self-reflect in any manner, even after seeing themselves on TV for years.  I like both Kyle and Lisa and think they are the center of the show, but they are both too self-aware and concerned with how they are perceived to ever truly let themselves go. I would love to see someone come into the group that lacks this.  Not like Brandi or Kim, who never had any house porn, etc. to offer us.

Lisar might just fill this role in a Vicki or Ramona kinda of way. She says she'll do anything for a buck and will probably be agreeable to direction from tptb. That was probably a big part of her dogging Kim all season, that and trying for some kind of a story line. She also has the backbone of a wet noodle and frequently changes direction when group think is elsewhere. Combine her lack of back bone with a hair trigger temper fueled by drinking and a seemingly lack of awareness about either, she may bring some crazy next season. It looked like the other wives may already be giving her a bit of the side eye, Kyle in particular.

The kids are in public school, right? Also, when she was hired and first enjoyed her success on the show, I don't think most people who had a positive response to her then necessarily did so because of her misbehavior. For me personally I remember feeling bad for her during Game Night, I thought she was well behaved when Kim got in her face at Kyle's White Party, and she was the person who made the comments about Taylor and Russell that had been made by many viewers. 

 

Brandi is probably right though with her comments about the strong ratings for the show. They got a big boost because of the drama at Poker Night and the ratings spike for that following episode wasn't for Eileen, LisaR, and LisaV. Unfortunately, Kim and Brandi were the main reason the night went to hell and had more people than usual tuning in. I hope the show at least tries to bring on a new friend this year. Anything to take the attention away from those two.

Brandi is lying off the bat when she said, "they had the best ratings ever," season 5 barely edged out season 4 and season 4 was the lowest rated season of the series.

 

My take is that I don't see Kim and Brandi as a package deal and think that Brandi is more vulnerable because other key cast members want nothing to do with her.

Everybody said the same thing about Aviva last season on RHONY, cuz she was in the center of all the drama, and the ratings spiked when she brought the crazy. But they showed her the door. Just giving you a reason to hope!

Yes, Joyce was interesting and was a good addition. Adrienne could fill in, she has so much going on.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I typically love New York, it's easily my second favorite after Beverly Hills, but I'm finding it hard to catch up. Hopefully I'll have some time to binge watch because I feel like I've already forgotten what happened in the premiere and I haven't even seen the latest ep. Drama with BH has kind of side tracked New York a bit for me I'll admit. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if Kim hadn't gotten arrested--of course I had to go and read about that shit lol.

 

I'm having more fun reading people's comments on the episode anyway. 

 

And just to yank this post back on topic I'll throw out a couple of other names as casting suggestions.

 

Elizabeth Berkeley. Handsome husband and one toddler age son. Around Brandi's age. 

 

Kelly Rutherford. Supposedly she needs the money. Maybe that would make it easier for her to see her kids in France with the bonus of making more people aware of her custody issues. Same age as Kyle.

 

Kristina Wagner. Used to be married to Jack Wagner, she's been on General Hospital off and on for a long time, her kids are grown, I think, so maybe she'd be interested in trying something new. She's about Kim's age so in between Kyle and Eileen.

 

Rebecca Gayheart. Married with two kids, her past has plenty of...material for lack of a better way to put it so there's a potential drama factor here. She doesn't seem to have worked much in the past six years or so. She's about a year older than Brandi.

Andy confirmed in a article he did for Attitude Magazine, he's only interested in casting violate women.   So this only slow lessens my hope he's going to get rid of Kim or Brandi or both.
