Eugene Levy is promoting season 2 of The Reluctant Traveler series.

So he sits for an interview with Fresh Air but most of the discussion is about his life, career and how Schitt's Creek came into being.

It was Daniel's idea, the premise being that The Kardassians and The Osbornes were very popular for being a fly on the wall inside the life of rich people.

So they would show the reverse of that, once rich people suddenly becoming poor.

Daniel and Eugene wrote most of the scripts, at least while they were developing the show, to get it sold.  Eugene said Daniel didn't have experience developing comedy shows so he was concerned if his son could do it, how he'd react if he wasn't able to do the job.

Says he's very proud of what Daniel accomplished.
