Keep it up Hana.  But when you go walking make sure you avoid the Concrete Curb of Doom unless you want to make yourself into an "Ow Mah Leg" meme.  I too parted with a TON of old stuff that was too big and did not want to ever wear again.  Sadly one bag was full of my fall/winter Cabelas shirts that I loved so much.  Lasted forever and were very warm on cold days outdoors.  Way too big to wear now.

The Concrete Curb of Doom got me. I still have the scars on my elbows. It didn't stop me from going out walking even though it was embarrassing

I finally cleaned out the closet. It was mostly work clothes that I won't be wearing again.

How's your recovery coming along? I hope you're soon back on both feetz!

Over the weekend I was watching Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj videos on youtube, and he has a segment on how America is making the rest of the world obese. One of the risks of obesity he lists, along with things like heart disease and stroke, is "getting your own TLC show." 😄

I actually lost weight during coronavirus, I am now only 7 pounds heavier than my usual college weight and 3 pounds over my 'ideal body weight'... I am eating everything I want, just eating home cooking instead of eating out is doing that.

I have lost weight during this, too. Don't know exactly how much (not sure where I was when it started) but I would guess 10-15 pounds. I have more or less been living in a particular pair of old, worn jeans, which are kinda stretched out so were already loose, but now they are hitting so low on my hips I had to roll up the cuffs. I'm not complaining but part of it is that I simply don't eat that much when I'm home. I've been trying to at least make what I do eat be healthier stuff, but that doesn't always work out. (But I did go to Wegmans yesterday and got some fruits and salad stuff.)

I have been craving the foods of my childhood. Last night my girlfriend and I had hot dogs and boxed mac n' cheese. Eating foods like that takes me back to a time when I felt protected from the outside world.

The last few times I had boxed mac & cheese I ended up regretting it afterwards. It's like I remember liking it more than I actually like it. What I really want is my mom's mac & cheese. I need to get her to write down the recipe for me.

I can't say I've lost weight, but I'm maintaining.  I can fit into my jeans still, but I am very often wearing men's boxers as shorts. Women's clothing sizes are so messed up that I can wear some old clothing that is size small, but I have newer shirts marked large that make me look like an overstuffed sausage.

Ugh, I know. I've been shopping Old Navy's website because I have a gift card and they have masks (sets of five in cute patterns and colors) and I will be going back to work two days a week starting in July (then three in August, then back to normal in September; at least that's the plan as of now). I wanted to get a set of masks which are $12.50 and then I wanted to try to use up the rest...but I have no idea what sizes to get! And even if I felt safe to do so, the store in the mall here is still only open for curbside pickup so I can't go try things on. I used to be able to buy jeans and t-shirts from there without even trying them on but those days are long gone. I have a couple sweaters I bought last year that are size large so I'm going with that and hoping for the best. I have a cute tee in my cart, plus some basic tanks and a couple pairs of leggings which I will most likely only wear around the house anyway. My card is $64 (because my brother is a goofball...he gave me three gift cards for Christmas - B&N for $32, ON for$64 and Kohls for $96**) so I'm trying to spend that much but not too much more.

And I had a cart I was about ready to go with on Sunday night, but it was getting late so I decided to do it the next day, and when I got back to it last night three of the items had been removed because they were out of stock and then I was about $20 short of my gift card amount. So I browsed some more and hopefully they're all still there when I go to lunch.

**He turned 47 in March so I gave him a bookstore card for $25.47 😁

I have many t-shirts from there, but I buy men's medium. Their sizing is all over the place too. I want to know why men's t-shirts are sturdier and less expensive. I thankfully don't have big breasts so I can wear the men's shirts.

I like the large t-shirts because I can wear them as sleep wear.

Before you grab the vomit bucket, I do shower and wear underwear.

The fact that I felt the need to add that tells me I've watchd a bit too much 600 lb life.

I placed my order then realized that the t-shirt I had in there had disappeared (I don't know why; it's still available and it didn't give me a notification like the other stuff that got removed...maybe I hit the X by accident). No wonder I was ten bucks short of my gift card amount. (I ended up adding a cute lunch bag for going back to work with since I won't have a fridge available there for the foreseeable future. This one is taller than the ones I have so it can hold a bottle.) Oh, well. I guess I didn't need that t-shirt. Obviously it wasn't going to fit right, right?

I've saved a lot of money by accidentally hitting the x.  If you aren't in the store trying it on, I wouldn't trust the sizing.

Heh, probably true. I ordered a couple tank tops but I only wear those for sleeping or just puttering around the house, so no one's gonna see me in 'em. As long as they're not uncomfortably tight I don't really care.

I have a couple tank tops that are a bit snug. If your dog doesn't retch at the sight of you, it's okay. Or if you can find your dog before its in a fold. I know, hell in gasoline soaked drawers.

Oh yes.  Not even using the cane anymore.  Ditched that last week.  Surgery was 5/15.  Used a walker, then a single crutch, then the cane.  Working my butt off in PT.  I would go 3x daily if I could.  Surgeon has cleared me to swim (which I have been doing) and use the gym within reason.  Still waiting on that.  Our Lord High Jackass Governor Phil Murphy will not allow gyms to open.  Casinos?  That's fine.  Gyms?  No.  Gambling away money good, bench presses bad.  But I digress!!!!

Told a friend of mine that the surgeon said to not do "anything stupid".  Alan's response was "has he met you".

Gee thanks for a new online obsession @Colleenna and @ams1001! Since I only started doing this yesterday, I'm just dipping my toes into the shallow end of the pool with little wussy puzzles with only 20-35 pieces; haven't yet had the nerve to attempt ones with over 100 pieces.

So I'll see your puzzles and raise you Sudoku!😊

Try jigzone. com.   You can select the number of pieces and also the shapes.  I started doing online puzzles because of The Cat.    I was doing sudoku like crazy for a few weeks;     I  now have books of the Monday and Wed NY Times crosswords.  We were doing a little cleaning earlier in the Rona, and I found a hardbound spiral crossword book that had belonged to my mother.  It was published the same year she died, and she had only done two puzzles.  I finished it a few weeks ago.  Mr. Twopper is doing  cryptograms;  the book has a section of quotes by presidents so he is figuring out the authors before trying to solve the quote.

I need to eat less and exercise more.  I am so sick of preparing meals 3 times a day;  I had no idea how often we ate out.   I do know how to cook from scratch but it is much easier to get a casserole from the nearby gourmet grocery and just add a salad,   Unfortunately, I have also been adding wine and dessert.  And I am binge watching too much tv.

I bought the cotton candy grapes today.   I think I won't buy them again.

Because it is Wed,  I feel compelled to report my eating habit for tonight.   Mexican chicken casserole, green beans.   Lime sherbet and some type of cookie for dessert.  I was going to make brownies but it is already 5;30.    I bought peaches at the farmer's market to make a peach cobbler tomorrow.  Not sure how that goes with lasagna, but I guess we will find out.

The last two nights I've had grape nuts with sliced banana and honey for dinner. I don't know yet about tonight. I have one peach and three bananas and blueberries and cherries to eat in the next few days, and a bag of lettuce I should probably use tonight. I also have chicken in the fridge and meatballs in the freezer so I will have to make those soon. And I need to figure out lunch options that can live in my bag with an ice pack and don't need heating for when I go back to the office (no fridges, no microwaves, for the foreseeable future, to promote distancing, though that's probably less necessary in the office area where not everyone goes to lunch at the same time; cafeteria is closed. They are opening the vending machines, with cleaning supplies nearby so people can wipe them down, but there's nothing particularly healthy in there). I will probably start with egg salad sandwiches and some cut veggies for next week, but that will get old. Ideas welcome.

I just ate a Pepperidge Farm Lemon Milano cookie. I wouldn't have thought I'd like lemon and chocolate together but I was wrong. I've also been drinking strawberry lemoneade or limeade with vodka the last few nights because the vodka bottle is almost empty and I'm at the point where I just want it out of my house. Maybe tonight I'll switch it up and mix it with ginger beer. Might need it if I'm gonna live chat on Rena and Lee again.

I bought a bundle from Dell years ago. There were crosswords, cryptoquizzes, and figgerits. I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to sudoku, but I do enjoy it. I'm laughing that you went to online puzzles because of The Cat. Puzzle pieces will go missing, and the favorite cat spot to sleep will be on the puzzle.

I have some old stripped crossword magazines from when I worked in a bookstore hanging around my house, and also some stripped copies of mass market NYT Crossword books. I should start doing them. I also have a Boggle book (I used to get the page-a-day calendar years ago and would do it at lunch every day, but they stopped making it). And some word searches. And on my tablet I have a game called A Way With Words which is a reverse word search; you get three letters at a time and you place them to create words and in the end it looks like a regular word search that hasn't been done yet.

Anyone watching Rena and Lee rerun?

My husband loves Sudoku, so in March I bought a large order of back magazine sized issues from PennyPress.  Most of the books they sent were double sized.  I also ordered a set of Word Search books, which they sent twice the number ordered and we are set for life!

My mom keeps a thick word search book in the bathroom. Once when I was housesitting for a week, the book was less than half done and I went through the rest of it and circled one random word in each puzzle. 😈

By the time she realized and said something I had forgotten all about it. 😄

Salads? It's been a long time since I worked anywhere but home (even before when everyone wasn't staying home), so I've had the fridge available. I almost always have bagged lettuce around, and tend to use some sort of protein with it. Can mix in cheese, other stuff.

Nothing like TLC!  The first 6-8 years are often so raw and heartbreaking!  And then the show became too famous, and the families and addicts became too self aware.  Even then, there are some gems, both good and snarkable.

Yeah, that's my other go-to for stuff that needs minimal at-work prep. I usually do lettuce and/or baby spinach as a base and various veggies (I often just put "salad" on my shopping list and see what looks good when I get to the store), then a bit of shredded cheddar and a small handful of croutons.

I know, it's so annoying. I only have to go Tuesday and Friday next week, then Monday and Tuesday for the next three weeks. (I also have four vacation days and one half day in July.) No idea how long they'll keep the cafeteria closed. Not a lot of takeout options, either, at least not that are worth the aggravation of going out.

Could be worse; at least I have my own space and drawers to keep my lunch bag in, away from other people's stuff. The warehouse workers don't really have that option. (There are lockers but I don't think everyone has one. Not sure how locker assignment works. Most people put their lunch bags on shelving near the cafeteria, or in the breakrooms in other parts of the warehouse, depending on what area they work in.)

Meat is so expensive these days. A 4th of July Ribeye sounds wonderful. I usually share one steak so I don't feel too guilty with cost or calories. It also happens rarely.

Let's not discuss that sidewalks seem to lie in wait just to trip us up. I still haven't forgiven the corner of Houston and Broadway for making me break my ankle, and it's been years...

I have another hazzard in my area... this morning when I left for my early morning walk, I nearly got tripped up by a rabbit! We've got them all over the place and they are the cutest obstacles that I've ever run across (literally, in this case).

Got a thrill this week when Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx opened up in my area. And for the first time, I could actually buy clothes in the normal section where all the good designer stuff is! Got myself a Marc Jacobs dress, a top by Calvin Klein and one by Tahari. I feel so damn fancy now.

I will try to remember that combo for the fall.  Right now we are in summer mode, and fresh peaches are available,  My fav breakfast in summer is Grapenuts mixed in with fresh peaches and vanilla yogurt.  I  may have posted that in this forum;  I know I have discussed it elsewhere so feel free to ignore if I am repeating myself.  I have had a terrible time just locating a package of Grapenuts.  I finally got 3 large boxes of GrapeNut Flakes from Amazon.  Then last week I finally found them the chain supermarket;  I grabbed up 3 boxes and left maybe 6.  They still have no paper towels when I go.  Plenty of tp, now.  I went yesterday, and it was so crowded.   They were nearly out of a lot of stuff, but it may be because of the upcoming 4th of July weekend.   Our neighborhood parade for the 4th is still on schedule, but the concert and fireworks are not.  I may go to the corner and watch from a safe distance.

Years ago, I had to do this for my daughter when the school had no cafeteria.   I used to send shrimp with cocktail sauce which she loved but it appalled all the other kids.  Honey baked ham sandwiches are good, if you aren't vegetarian.  Cold chicken?  I love cold fried chicken as well, but it is messy.  If you have a really good thermos, you could take soups, too.  If possible, also use multiple ice packs.  I have a large insulated carrier that looks like a carry-on suitcase with plenty of room for drinks and food.

Meat is so expensive these days. A 4th of July Ribeye sounds wonderful. I usually share one steak so I don't feel too guilty with cost or calories. It also happens rarely.

I can't wait to get back to a dine-in steak place.  I was considering a Boston butt for the holiday, but it is only the two of us so I got a package of the bun length Hebrew National hotdogs,  buns from the bakery, potato salad, and watermelon.  Also we had a Boston butt recently, and it lasted forever and ever.

Pieces  also will be chewed on.  She knocked several pieces on the floor which managed to bounce into one of Mr Twopper's shoes.   He was not happy the next time he put them on;  the way he carried on, you would think she had put Legos in it.   I miss that cat.

Ugh, no thanks to watching an encore performance of Rena and Lee.  She is meh, and he is several degrees past horrid.

I like logic puzzles.  For the longest time I could get England's Best Logic Puzzles (I think that was the title) thru Penny Press.  I still have  a few left.  I don't like the Puzzle Baron series as much.

My fav breakfast in summer is Grapenuts mixed in with fresh peaches and vanilla yogurt.

That sounds good. I eat a lot of yogurt with whatever fresh fruit is available, and now that you reminded me I need to buy some Grapenuts. It sounds like it might be hard to find.

I have boiled eggs and potatoes chilling in the fridge for potato salad. I like the Hebrew National hot dogs, but I currently have Applegate beef hot dogs. I go out grocery shopping about twice a month and I really can't expect a lot of the usual food to be in stock.

I am back to once a week, plus an occasional foray into the nearby gourmet grocery for the casseroles they make.  For the first two months of this mess, 3 sets of neighbors did all our shopping.  If I don't see something when I shop, I can still ask them to look.  They go to more places in search of things they need than we feel comfortable going.  Not sure if Amazon has GrapeNuts again;   if so, they are probably more costly than the local stores.

Over the years, we have played dozens of games of Pandemic in its varieties.  I may never want to play again.

I will try to remember that combo for the fall.  Right now we are in summer mode, and fresh peaches are available,  My fav breakfast in summer is Grapenuts mixed in with fresh peaches and vanilla yogurt.

I bought three peaches on Sunday and I ate them with vanilla yogurt (plain Fage Greek yogurt mixed with raw sugar and vanilla extract) sprinkled with Cascadian Farms honey oat granola. Had the last one this morning.

I had two small ice packs but one of them disappeared; I think I saw it in my parents' freezer a while ago. Will have to remember to steal it back next time I go over there. I also have one of those gel packs meant for injuries but I have used it in my lunch bag once or twice. (Though I might need it tonight because I apparently pulled something in my neck....)

I got them at Target; they had plenty (and they were on sale in their Circle app a couple weeks ago).

I wish I had looked for Grapenuts the last time I was in Target. They didn't have a couple things I wanted but I got toilet paper.

I'm laughing at you having to "steal back" your gel packs. I have the ones I used in my lunch bag. I have an Igloo too that I use for groceries.

If you live in an area with a Kroger (or one of the Kroger family of grocers), they have an off-brand version of Grape Nuts that’s nearly half the price!
