The 24 Places David T. Cole Wants To See Ichabod Crane After Watching A Single Episode Of Sleepy Hollow

Recommended Posts

I don't understand how an entire subcontinent can go 2000 years and not learn about pasta or casseroles pretty much anything other than stew.  For that matter, how can they only have one kind of bread, and no cheese?  Italian has 3 cuisines (Sicilian -- the one everyone is familiar with, Tuscan, and Northern -- which is influenced by French cooking) in a smaller area.  Italian also happily adapted its cuisine as new foods (pasta and tomatoes among them) became available.

I...honestly can't tell if you're joking? But I assure you that Indian food encompasses a lot more than what you've apparently experienced, many varied "cuisines" with different influences from surrounding cultures, many different kinds of bread, and countless foods beyond stews. What is available near you may be limited, or your experience may be limited, but that doesn't mean that actual Indian food is limited.

Anyway, on topic, I would like to see Crane at a zoo or an aquarium because I think technology feels very alien to him, but the animals he'd see were always a part of his world, he would just never have had a chance to see many of them.

Italian, Thai or Mexican. Best food ever. Feed him a good Phad Thai, or some amazing salsa with homemade chips, or enchiladas dripping with cheese and salsa verde and some fresh guacamole. Finish it off with a huge margarita on the rocks.

Best food I ever had roaming through the States? - Mexican. So, so good. Even in Washington, DC, there was an amazing Mexican restaurant that I went a couple times too, it was that good. I wish I could find a really good Mexican restaurant here. I live in Toronto (big population) but Mexican doesn't seem to fly here. So sad.

Now I'm hungry.

More things for our boy to experience:

- Playing with dogs on the beach - preferrably big ones (I have a GSD)

- Learning digital SLR photography

- Reaction to watching any gory episode of The Walking Dead

- Body boarding

- Actually using power tools to build something (there must be a chain saw included)

- Taking a ride on a power boat.

Hey - where's the Mexican place in DC?

I'd love to see him watching the 24 hour news cycle and screaming at all of the pundits about their gross misrepresentation of the Founding Fathers... that would be so funny.

phoenics - I'm sending you a PM re: the Washington DC restaurants.

- At the Library of Congress

- Going through a haunted house

- Rollerblading

- Going up the Toronto CN Tower (and walking the outside edge)

- Spending a week in Las Vegas (remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas)

Oh, man, I would love to see Crane in Las Vegas!  I can picture him making his way through the flashing lights and loud noises of a casino with that WTF look on his handsome face!

Every single restaurant I've been to, plus what the folks at work bring in. I've seen a couple of places that have dishes like tandoori, but I've never seen anything other than nan.

Watched Skyfall last night. Great movie. Love Daniel Craig.

Crane needs to be seen watching and commenting on a James Bond movie. Preferrable the Daniel Craig ones --> Casino Royale and Skyfall.

Abbie can explain the meaning of Bond Girl names. Then he can regale us about his own spy experiences, though I doubt they bear any resemblance to his time. *coughbondgirls*

I don't know about that, The Roger Moore movies were ridiculously campy. Daniel Craig is preferable to my tastes and his movies are less nonsensical, so the Moore years might be a more entertaining source of Crane's snark. I'd love to hear his reaction to the antics of Jaws.

The Moore years are campy, for sure, though I have a special place in my heart for A View to a Kill. Connery ones, I have a hard time watching at times, I think because of the blatent sexism (not that Bond isn't sexist, but him slapping around women bothers me). Craig is my absolute favourite Bond, so like I said:

Crane needs to watch Craig's Casino Royale and Skyfall. :')

How about watching Craig's Cr then Woody Allen's then WTF????

Ooooh, something I did a while back that was great fun: Watch Olivier's Henry V, then Branaugh's.  Amazing what totally different messages can come from the same play!

-Crane watches Monty Python's Search For The Holy Grail, if the content of the movie doesn't make his head explode, the ending will.

-Crane binge-watches Shark week

-Crane finds brief employment in a doughnut shop

-Crane finds brief employment as a grocery bagger

-Crane finds brief employment as a parking valet. (doughnuts)

Crane watches Shark Tank and tries to develop a product.  (Crane and Cuban will probably get along fine, but Crane vs O' Leary will be EPIC!)

Somehow I feel like this would only end with Crane being dragged away in handcuffs, lol.

I'm loving all these, but David, this one of yours made me laugh out loud:

A mattress store having a President's Day sale

:D

I also love the idea of Crane ranting after finding out the high calorie content of the salad he just ate at Panera Bread, and the visuals of him running the gauntlet of Dance Dance Revolution and IKEA.
