But I’m all in for the Legacy show if Bethany keeps her distance. I can’t listen to her squawk about how wonderful she is anymore. Or cry into her million dollar purse about how hard things were all her life. Just bring on the menopausal meltdowns so we can get back to how things were back when things were good.

What in the world? So this isn’t a gradual cast change but an entirely new cast? They need to call it something else. I know I’m way behind you guys, but I was looking forward to many more seasons of the unique women who made RHONY. How many of them are still open to Housewives? Why all new women?

They used to do more intersting things like charity events and attending fashion shows. But even those types of activities became shown less, even before Covid.

I'll give it a chance. I always give the first episode of each city a chance. So far only Beverly Hills and NY have done it for me although I will watch Potomac and OC from time to time. Still trying to make it through UGT. 

Very curious if there are any genuine friendships here or if they just threw together a few women who vaguely know each other.

I think Jenna might have been interesting in her J.Crew and Townhouse porn days. I loved that townhouse. But now? What I’ve seen on social media is a no. 
I don’t want to watch influencers. I can go on YouTube or Instagram for that.

This is a hard pass for me too. RIP RHONYC, I’ll have fond memories of what had once been my favorite Housewife show. All their drunken shenanigans, Turtle Time, Lu falling in the bushes, Sonja and her toaster oven…

NYC for me will alway be Bethenny, Ramona, Sonja, Luann. I’ll miss them.

Same.  But I guess it might bring in the demographics they want.  A couple years ago The Amazing Race cast was You Tube stars and influencers and there is still a few every season,  none of which I knew because I guess I am past the age of being influenced, lol.    I'm more in the age group of the RHoNYs being replaced (and watched since S1). 

For me it's a good excuse to cut yet another RH show out of my schedule.  Bummer because RHONY was my fav for a long time but 14 years is a good run.

I don't know why Bravo couldn't just have a new series with NY women representing the city's "diversity" (because let's be honest, this is what the unnecessary reboot is really all about), something along the lines of Girlfriends of Paris, and leave the RHONY franchise alone. 

All RHONY had to do was ditch Leah and Eboni, who were too toxic (the former) and not a good fit (the latter). Bershan should've been given a chance because she seemed to have the RHONY vibe - which is to say she's there for a good time, eventually will get into a squabble (like she did with Sonja), but then they hug it out and get back to having a good time. That's what RHONY has always been. Leah's toxicity and Eboni's Ted Talks were not it. And, who knows, maybe the ol' gals have some friends or acquaintances who represent other races/cultures that could have been added...

I'm all for diversity and different points of view, but why after one so-so season and one terrible season off of COVID does RHONY need a complete overhaul when RHOC, RHONJ and RHOA get to lack diversity? 

(answer: it's because firing Eboni would've been a bad look even though reasons would be valid and not because of her race) 

Rebooting RHONY is a scapegoat. And Twitter ruins everything.

What they should have done was dumped Leah and Eboni, upgraded Bershan to full-time HW, and brougjt on 2 new HWs, or maybe bring back Tinsley and one new HW (maybe another POC).

Unfortunately, they are rumors Dorinda will be added to the NY HW Lagacy cast....Some women who were on the Ultimate Girls Trip S2 with former HWs returned as HWs (Tamra Judge, Taylor Armstrong), a few are rumored to be returning (Brandi Granville, Phaedra Parks, Dorinda Medley), and Vicki Gunvalson is a guest on the current filming of OC.

Sadly, I went to my comcast settings and found RHONY and deleted the recording. I have zero interest in watching a bunch of influencers and try hards.  It would have been fine to add some new blood onto the original cast and fire Ramona. RIP RHONY.

Lu makes the point that Bethenny is now doing a podcast on HW, after bashing the show for years as if it was beneath her. 

I don't think the timing of this is just a coincidence.  They are looking at casting for RHONY Legacy.  And Lu, Ramona, Jill, Sonja, Dorinda were all at Bravo con recently.  FOMO.

Bethenny's biggest career success is HW.  Skinny Girl happened because of it. 

Whereas her solo efforts have tanked - Her talk show, the real state show with Fredrik Eklund, her recent The Big Shot.  And she didn't last on Shark Tank.

I’ve always thought Jenna Lyons is really attractive. I can’t stand the turned in toe stance and find it to be an overall detractor, but based on looks alone, she’s very pretty and wears clothes well. Can’t speak for anything else because otherwise I know nothing about her.

I watched a documentary on Jenna. She seems quite whiny, self-absorbed and vaguely depressed. I also watched her on the late, great CFDA documentary about annual design awards - she was a judge.

She may class up the RHoNY joint.

My guess is that longtime RHONY viewers, much like the RH themselves are too old to be of commercial interest to BRAVO and they are looking for a younger demographic - like the age I was when I started watching this mess.   Good times though.  RIP RHONY indeed.

How much younger of a demographic? I'm in my mid30s and recently got into RHONY. I am invested in the unique women who made the show a hit, whether they're in their 50s and 60s or not. I don't need a bunch of women around my own age or younger to be entertained.

If Andy thought “pausing” her, instead of “firing” her, would encourage her to clean up or learn better coping skills, so that she might possibly rejoin the cast, it had the absolute opposite effect. On RHUGT, her behavior is much worse than before. She seems to be heavily intoxicated more often, with hardly any sober moments. Her anger seems much more intense. Her attacks are more vicious and even less rational than before. I’m actually surprised that she hasn’t become physically violent. I read some article. This therapist believes many of them are suffering from PTSD. Definitely Sonja Morgan, possibly Lu and Dorinda, too.

Therz times I love her & times I  disagree w/her but that's ok, that's natural but I will say it's been nicer 2see a softer, realistic side of her from the beginning wen she was so entitled & phoney. She is sooo entitled & the way she treats the Staff is disgusting!!! If actions speak louder than words then she is? Well I can't find a description that's that low. PTSD from what?!!  Dorinda?   Please.   If voluntarily being on a show with a bunch of OVERprivileged ridiculous women who drink too much and snipe at each other is SO TRAUMATIC why are they all so desperate to stay?   Dorinda is a drunk bully who should be fired but I find a PTSD diagnosis for people who choose to be around her kind of insulting to people who actually have PTSD.

I am so, so sorry. I cannot imagine the sadness you are experiencing. I truly hope that your loved ones are able to provide some comfort. 

In 1991, my best friend and boyfriend died suddenly. It took me ten years to kind of recover. But, no, I didn’t go around getting drunk and yelling at people either.

I have learned that some individuals suffer trauma, and it makes them more compassionate and sensitive to the emotions of others. Then there are those who wield their trauma as a weapon. And use it as excuse to be narcissists.

Dorinda was blind with rage! It was actually quite frightening, the hatred on her face. Tinsley handled it better than I would have. But it makes me worry about Hannah. How does she deal with it?

Okay, I agree with this therapist's assertion that they are damaged and she rightly points out that they are grieving the loss of their lifestyles which their husbands provided as much or more than the end of their marriages.   😉  And that tracks with the typical divorced/widowed RH.  But I still reject her use of a PTSD diagnosis.  That's something that gets slapped on peoples behavior waaaay too much.
