I have always been an AJ fan. I liked both Billy Warlock an Sean Kanen in the role.  I use to love the way Billys AJ never gave up. He wanted his son and he fought tooth and nail. married the stripper, Fought Sonny for his son, and ended up having to fight the borg for his wife and son. Billys AJ was the floor mat  for Guza and Sean's ,for FrankenRon. Sean's was never allowed to beat Sonny either. SK and CD looked like father and son and played very well off each other. FrankenRon turned into Guza and now I swam to the barge.

In my mind, they are together and sneaking around PC doing it.  And maybe have been found out by, say, Morgan.  Not that Morgan's going to squeal on her, but he's holding it over her head and tormenting his brother with it.

It is still criminal how they did not tap the chemistry that SK and LW had, because they had it in spades compared to the crap they have Carly with now.  But, alas, it was a story with too much GH history and, of course, the head writer for GH is Ron "I love to shit on GH history" Carlivati.

In my mind, AJ is alive, but staying in the WSB Clinic for the Not So Dead because he has figured out he drinks because he is guilty for that accident that turned Jason into a Borg. He's helping Robin and they are, trying to get Jason Q back. Also, Alan is there. So is Georgie. AJ is trying to convince Georgie to date his son when they return.

AJ and Original Recipe Carly -( both SK and Billy W. had chemistry out the wazoo with Sarah and Billy had it with TB too) - could have been Alan and Monica take two.

It would have worked out great - Carly and her plaaans, AJ trying to fix things and Mikey stuck in the middle after being SORASed.

But we can't have nice things. Sonny ruined Carly and St Jasus of the Box O' Pain ruined Courtney aka Copkilla.

The only time I liked Courtney was when she and AJ were first together before St Jasus came back and they did that stupid stalker story.  AJ did that. I refuse to hate him - no matter how much they try to manipulate me into doing so.

I think none of the writers knew how much they were getting people on AJ's side with constantly having him fall short to Sonny. I loved how much Michael cared about his true father this time around--it was therapeutic to see, but it didn't go far enough. It will never go far enough until Michael disowns Sonny and Carly completely.

Since we lost one, gained one, and have one chilling with Liz- why not contain the fabulous Q's here.

From Edward to Monica to Alan to Tracy to the newest edition, Micheal. Let's discuss the Thanksgiving dinners, mourn AJ and Cook.

But no Morgan, no Sonny, no Carly, and no Kiki allowed. The Q's have had enough free loaders over the years. And will someone scrub the crypt?

I really think Michael, Jason ans Danny are going to become Q's in name.

So we'll have Monica, Tracy, Alice, Ned, Michael, Jason, and Danny as Q's on canvas. And I wouldn't be surprised if Skye, Brooklyn, and/or Dillon came back soon too. I also wouldn't be surprised if Jason married Liz and moved her and the boizzz into the Q manse.

2015 is going to be the year of the Quartermaines!

ETA: after my post about it in the main thread, I simply need a scene of Michael asking Alice to "please remove Ms. Benson from the premises", with the same icy demeanor as Sonny asked one of his goons to "escort Ms. Scorpio home".

I friggin loved this exchange on Monday's show:

Monica: "this is my house"

Tracy: "yeah, Alan gave it to her".

I especially loved the way JE did this kind of full body eyeroll as she delivered her line.

I really hope Stuart Damon is feeling better and can maybe one return, even if only for another one-day dream sequence.

What does that have to do with anything? Did Michael become successful in those jobs or did he just sit around and collect a check? Michael wanted a job, got one, and is successful in it. Many people are given an opportunity. It's what you do with it that matters.

Sure, and I didn't say he wasn't successful at it. But still, it's a form of indulgence to be handed as big of a job as a corporate CEO by your super rich family when you basically have no-to-little experience, imo.

Still don't see how that's coddling.

I'll agree to disagree there then, because I don't see how Dante acting like Michael did nothing wrong when he beat Trey up is not coddling.

Especially when you have no college degree—hell, barely any college-level classes—and aren't even old enough to rent a car by yourself.

Micheal has been in college since at least 2011. They've been making refrences to his enrollment at PCU since Chad Duell took over and they decided he wasn't a high schooler. He got the internship because he's AJ's son and because he's a business major. It's been vaguely referred to over the years. Example : Starr was staying at his place, he says "I'm at class all morning." He even mentioned taking classes during the summer, when Starr/Micheal kiss at the Q boathouse. He further mentions being in classes when Morgan/Kiki arrive. If he took summer classes and fall and spring, and interned the entire time at ELQ, then Micheal graduated with his MBA recently, but it probably happened on twitter. AJ also mentioned him working with him. Since AJ ran the company a few times, I'd assume he trained him. So Micheal probably has a pretty good resume. He's probably also worked for the Metro Court and with Jax. I buy that over Morgan having any job skills other than panhandling.

Hell, I think TJ (who is so a Quartermaine ) is a business major too. We never see his studies. Just like "Oh I have a test." Or something. In 2 years, he might be VP of ELQ if we ever get a DNA test and AJ on the GPS.

It happened on twitter, like many other plots. I just pieced together things the writers threw in there. Like the fact that in 2010, he was 18. So he's gotta be 24 now.

I'm holding them accountable now. Screw that.

He did feed the homeless- Morgan, Kiki, and Ava. But he didn't know Ava was there.

Apparently Michael graduated summa cum laude and fed the homeless while I wasn't looking.

*snerk*

Admittedly, it's a soap staple where people with few to no qualifications land jobs they're totally not cut out for (and didn't Emily complete medical school in six months or something?), so why should Michael be any different? Also, people on soaps run corporations out of their apartments, which makes Michael the exception since he actually has an office and isn't going to work in his gym shorts or whatever.

He actually seems to shower, can read, and has table manners. He also treats people respectfully. (Time as Ginger Micheal doesn't count. I give him a pass because he did go to prison and get raped as a teen. That shits traumatic. Watch Oz if you don't believe me.) I think Micheal referred to a female as a garden tool only once and to be fair she was responsible for his father's murder, set him up for murder, and banged his murderer on his grave. Micheal is ahead of 3/4 of the male GH population. He also hasn't been duped out of his shares by any rapists or rape facilitators. Nor is he a robot. He hasn't even fathered a kid. He's practically winning life in Quartermaine and Corinthos and Spencer liniage.

They are not bringing A.J. back. I wish they were but it's not happening. There is zero chance IMO that FV would roll out the red carpet for Sean Kanan again let alone tie him to his beloved Easton.

And it's only some of the fans who think Michael forgave Sonny too soon - the show thinks it's great. It's not some grand plan. They're just stupid.

I'll always wonder what happened there. I find it hard to believe that Frank Valentini would get so offended just because Sean Kanan complained about story. And I've never seen such outright mean meta comments about an actor on the show before. Maybe the frigid librarian stuff about NLG/Alexis comes close. It's just so weird. Ron and Frank at the same time fixed AJ and ruined AJ more than Guza did in one fell swoop.

I wonder if they did have a story planned for AJ, but SK left so Frank got pissed? Or was Frank pissed because SBu left, GH signed SK, then SK leaves and goes back to B&B then KSu goes to Y&R, then JT leaves and goes to Y&R, maybe others want to leave? Or maybe they signed SK in the hopes he could get SBu to come back, he refused to get involved and they punished him?

Or maybe they just didn't like that SK refused to sit back and play what was given? He worked his one year, got a better offer, and left. SK doesn't seem really drama like now, just outspoken. But it is funny that he kinda kicked off the Ron gets fired thing. They could recast AJ. They've done it before. Call TSJ. They're in LA. Mark Teschner is awesome. Let him do it.

Sean Kanan is not necessarily known for being Mr. Congeniality, or at least not known for being a shrinking violent. He's a right wing guy, I think, has a talk show and can be a boor and very outspoken, but I haven't heard any stories of bad behavior on-set since his drug days in the '90s - just that he can be overbearing and obnoxious as a person. I think he rubbed FV and RC the wrong way, especially if he was vocal about lack of story or story direction, something neither of them ever take well from the actors. And I think they also lost interest in him when they realized Steve was not coming back and they could not do Ron's planned Jason/A.J. conflict. Whenever Ron or Frank lost an actor or key piece of a puzzle they would rarely plan for an alternative.

I don't think they ruined A.J. more than Guza; I think they redeemed the character despite the RL humiliation of the actor. Michael now remembers his birth father with love. The problem is they never recognized the massive potential and substantial popularity of the character beyond their preconceived purposes.

I've heard less from him than from NLG, who can also be a boor and is very outspoken.

I can see Ron throwing a hissy fit that he can't do his pet story, so instead of using what he does have, he throws the baby out with the bathwater and scraps everything with AJ. It's really a shame, because even without Jason around, AJ had a ton of story potential with Michael. But at least they left it with Michael knowing AJ loved and wanted him and vice versa. That's something worthwhile.

I find BM/SK/CD look they could all be related. It's weird because SK and SBu did look like brothers, but BM looks a lot like SK/CD. In a perfect casting world, as much as I don't like Jason Morgan, we'd have SBu as Jason, SK as AJ, CD as Michael, and BM as AJ's oldest, unknown son.

It's weird that NLG tweeting about SR and Viola Davis during the Emmys got her in no trouble, but SK is merely unlikable in Ron/Frank's eyes and he gets a brutal exit, still acts the hell out of it (the scenes where ghost AJ taunts Sonny). SK might not be the best, but the dude got crap for most of his run and still went to work and did his job. He never sleepwalked through anything. It wasn't like JT where he looked like hell, then went to CBS and was suddenly hot again. I actually think most of the conflict was on Ron, and I don't even hate Ron that much. That alone should make Frank think twice.

*For the record, I really don't want SBu back, but a pic of all of them together dressed as Qs would be cool.

His drug days went beyond the 90s.  He was on some rehab show a few years back; I think between Y&R stints. And there were stories about him here and there on the sets of B&B and Y&R. I'm sure he's alot better now though. I will say they definitely didn't have to crack jokes in the dialogue about his weight even though the boards used to make fun of his body alot.

I didn't give a damn about AJ's return though because I'm so beyond over back from the dead stories on soaps and the characters usually aren't likeable anymore after their returns.

IMO A.J. has always had massive potential for A.J.'s own sake. The fact that they didn't see that is beyond me, because I thought SK was killing it on the show and I would bring him back in an instant. This time I'd say both Monica and Michael know he's been recuperating though, and that Michael was brought in on it not long ago.

I do think that if Billy Miller had fled the scene last year or early this year with one of his outs that they would've promptly made his Jason into A.J. Mark III and written him off a la the Two Todds of OLTL. I actually like Miller in the role and think it has a lot more possibilities, but if Steve Burton ever becomes available again they will bring him back as Jason, period. The question then would be if without Ron they would still bother to retcon BM's time in the role as his character being someone else. Frankly I'm not convinced they'd do it now, with Jason and Sam already reconnecting romantically. I think at this point they'd either ignore it the way OLTL did Max Holden's plastic surgery recast, or have Jason go under the knife to regain his old face. (If Ron was still around though, they'd probably go for broke and do the entire Two Todds saga with the names filed off.)

Yeah. Even though imo the Two Todds had potential, but wasn't executed exactly as it could've been. I don't know how much of that was time constraints due to cancelation and how much was how off the wall the story got. (Without going into OLTL stuff, the OLTL crew knows what I mean.) The problem with bringing that to GH imo is that BM is actually killing it as Jason, SK kills it as AJ, but SBu is very picky about when he chooses to actually act. CD does kill it against SK/BM. So, you'd have 3/4 of a story. Also, it was just... well.... imagine if GH chose to have Jason kill Robin or hurt Robin and not care. That was the difference in OLTL's two Todds and if he'd beat the crap out of Michael. The audience could legitimately believe whoa this is not Jason beyond brain damage. For a rewrite of Two Todds to work, the audience needs to believe these are two different men, not this is Jason Morgan or Jason Quartermaine or a combo. They're the same damn dude. Biologically.

At least when Days had the two Roman Bradys story line in 1991 with Wayne Northrop's return and with Drake Hogestyn having had the role for 5 years, there was a gorgeous location shoot in Chichen Itza, Mexico, to make up for some of the WTF nature...and things actually happened. And made sense. Kind of.

They light for the set, not the actors, and soap lighting has never been that flattering. I remember Robert S. Woods (Bo on OLTL) saying that when people saw him IRL, their first reaction was usually, "You look so much younger!" Because soap lighting is brutal.

They really did. It was great to see them develop a sincere friendship out of their mutual town pariah status.

My favorite Quartermaine era was that stretch of 1994 when Edward was on trial for murder. Great use of the older actors, first of all. And secondly, despite all the intra-family bickering, the clan came together to support him. No one was planning to backstab anyone, no one hoping he'd be convicted so as to take over the company, etc.

I loved the Quartermaines when they were all together and just bickered all over the place. I loved everyone in that family except for AJ going back to when he was sorased and played by Gerald Hopkins.

One of the funniest scenes was of a typical family argument where AJ was being an annoying jerk and everyone in the room taking the time to snap, "Shut up, AJ". To the point where even LILA got fed up with him and snapped, in her sweet, prim, and proper way, "Oh, AJ, shut up!"

Conversely, one of my least was a similar scene, only this time, the poor guy was sincerely trying to say/ask something helpful, only for everyone to scream it at him in UNISON.

Quartermaine Thanksgiving from 2012 (I was 14 when these scenes aired, wow). It's from after Edward's death, but I loved these scenes. Skye/AJ reunited and her bringing Lila Rae, Michael setting the family straight through all their arguing, the meal being destroyed and them having to eat pizza like ALWAYS, and Lila and Edward's ghosts at the end after everyone sang "We Gather Together". God, I love me some Q's!
