Aargh, my Boston affiliate pre-empted huge chunks of both Monday and yesterday's episodes. Once for a tornado (!) and another for the arraignment of an awful person (allegedly, I suppose I should add). I picked up enough from you all, and I did see the sweetest scene between JJ and Paige -- who is definitely not going to Stanford. I'm just a mess for those two.

I'm glad to see Kristen again but it sounds like she's even nuttier than before. With a henchman to boot. I can't wait to have her tangle with Theresa.

Missed the Abigail/Will convo except for a brief bit (again, aaargh). Was he secretly really pumping her for info for his piece? If so, shame on you Will. I'd like more Sonny and less Will, please. I did see enough of Sami and Kayla to admire Sami's dress.

Well, I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed if the extent of Sami's plans to "destroy" Abigail consists of getting her fired from her lame-ass entry-level job as her mommy's assistant. The job that she never spends any time at anyway. It doesn't appear that Sami has any videos of Abby and EJ, since she just keeps pulling out that (somewhat tame) photo when she wants to show someone proof. I was really hoping that she somehow knew about the almost-sex in the hospital supply closet (which would be an indisputable reason for firing Abby) or the conference room mistress-begging, but I don't think she does. I hope I'm wrong. So now I'm thinking the only remaining scheme Sami has left in her arsenal for revenge is to bring back Chad in hopes of interfering with Abby and Ben's non-romance. Which, if that is the case, how lame is that?  I don't know. I feel very underwhelmed. I was hoping for a lot more of Sami in scorched-earth mode.

I thought Sami and Kayla both looked great. I love Sami's dress. Kayla is such a great legacy character and MBE is so wonderful, it's a shame they only trot her out once in a while for contrived plot-related reasons, like propping Jen, Abby, or Dannifer. She deserves way better. If only one of Jen, Hope, and Kayla could be given leading lady status - Jennifer is not the one I would choose. Not this version of Jennifer, that's for sure.

Edited to add that I didn't even realize Will was interviewing Abby. I thought he was just chatting her up because he's so "concerned". Ugh, I really don't like feeling this way about Will Horton, since Wilson is one of the reasons I came back to Days after a long absence, but between the actor giving *nothing* and the character's continued misplaced loyalty, I'm done with him. Sonny deserves a LOT better.

It's obvious she's in pain and nobody will acknowledge her bruised feelings.

So far everyone has acknowledged her feelings and stated that they absolutely understand why she's pissed off.  What they aren't doing is coddling her and telling her that how she's acting is a-ok.  No one has said she has no right to be pissed off or hurt.  What they have said is that she's being hateful and disgusting and over the top.  She doesn't get a pass for that because she was hurt.  Although she thinks she does.

I had to laugh yesterday when she tried to tell Kayla that Abby has a pattern.  Oh you mean like the one you have, Sami?  I guess you would know how to spot those signs.

I don't watch every day so I guess I missed those interactions.  Every time I watch, it's some variation of Kayla's "How awful for....everyone." and then an immediate gasp of surprise "You confronted Abigail! And poor saintly Jennifer?!"  I just haven't seen a lot of good old fashioned sympathy, more a lot of "well what did you expect from EJ?"  which is a correct attitude, but jeez! At least they could just say that behind her back! lol

I guess I thought Will was "interviewing" Abigail because of his somewhat mechanical delivery. He sounded like he was conducting a 20/20 interview. Abigail's acting seemed more normal by comparison, and I normally don't think she's that good. Plus, I couldn't understand why anyone would ask those questions anyway. Who'd want to know that much about why their cousin did their step-dad?

Is Will trying to get his own revenge on Sami? That weird look on his face when the flashback occured looked kind of wacko to me....

It's a little creepy how focused Sami is on the physical aspect of EJ and Abby having sex. I ADORED how Sami just steamrolled past Jennifer in her "How dare you!" mode.  That was gorgeous!  And I love that Abby's all set to acknowledge how badly she's behaved--as long as she doesn't have to pay any actual consequences and everyone continues to tell her how blameless she is, but the minute she's going to be held accountable?  Now the indignation will be on display--oh, yes, she has integrity alright.

And when EJ tells you that you have integrity, that's when you should be worried and take stock of your life.

I don't think I could dislike Maggie more but if she and her Horton Horrors are the reason Victor is going to sell out Kami, then they both need to rot in hell.

I think Sami having the photo on her IPAD is not any weirder than EJ having that photo just lying around the house for Ciara to pick up and blackmail him.

I guess no one is aware of what Kate is doing?

I could understand coming down on Sami for the revenge plan if they'd start lecturing Kate too, but no one seems to care that Kate is out to destroy a couple of people too. Doesn't make sense to me that Sami is the terrible one, but somehow what Kate is doing is all hunky-dory.

Boy Abigail was quick to jump on the idea that EJ wanted her back. Wishful thinking much?

Sami’s suggestion that Abby get a job at an escort service to entertain more older men was hilarious. I wonder if Kate or Eve can put her in touch with some former “colleagues” who could get her started in the business.   Incidentally, I think Sami went easy on Abs letting her resign. I’d have had her ass fired so she had to explain that at every future job interview.

Per Nicole conversation with Brady, I don’t get how Brady’s drug and alcohol use is treated as the influence of Theresa the temptress, but saint Abby is absolved of her vices because it had to be all EJ’s fault. Why can’t people in this town own up to their own mistakes?

As for yesterday’s show, if Will is going forward with this article and was actually interviewing Abby (as in was going to use her remarks in an article) and didn’t inform her, then he might as well kiss away any career as a serious writer because what he is doing right now is selling out his family for tabloid trash.

Isn't Abigail basically a glorified secretary? I doubt she was that attached to the job. Not saying that what Sami is doing is necessarily correct, but....it's hard to get worked up and steamed about what Sami is doing if that's what the writers want me to be feeling....the stakes should be higher to make me feel bad for Abigail. Not that I necessarily would since, uh, this is Abigail, but I'm just saying....maybe if there was ever hope of me being a fan or whatever....

I wonder if Elvis is coming back by surprise. Isn't this the 800th conversation they've had where EJ tries to give Abigail self-esteem about the sex but then tells her he doesn't want her? I got it the first 799 times....maybe this love triangle might be suspenseful if I didn't know JS was leaving...

He won't probably attack or say anything against Abby though. He'll probably instead point out how Sami cheated on her husband and Will walked in on them or how she cares so little for her children that she'd take money from a children's wing of the hospital that her child got treatment from or how she put their father in jail an used them as pawns in her fake wedding.

Will's purpose is to neutralize Sami from being a monster not hurt anyone else.

I don't get what Will's point is. Writing an article about how Sami is hurting her family when they're all most likely in the dark right now about what she's doing would seem to have the effect of hurting her children more than their being oblivious to what's going on, but maybe I'm overthinking this.

Either way, exposing your mother is pretty much tabloid writing. Will might as well sign them all up for the Jerry Springer show. That's about how much integrity his writing career will have after this story is published.  If I was a serious editor, I wouldn't take him serious as a writer if airing his family's dirty laundry was his topic/debut piece no matter how well it was written.

I don't think Will would include Abigail either, but if his intent is to give a teachable moment to his mother, I don't know writing a tabloid expose about her really drives home any good life lessons. He seems to be proving he's his mother's son. I don't see any nobility in what he's doing, although he seems convinced he's doing a good thing.

Hell yes to Sami calling out Jen for moving on with Dan before Jack's body was even cold.

Kayla, it's time for you to have a seat. 1) You and Gagby aren't friends and you aren't related (as far as I know) so there's no reason for you to have any personal feelings about having to fire her. 2) Gagby was HAVING SEX with a damn board member when she should have been working. If you were a competent chief of staff you would have fired her on the spot.  3) You should be happy about getting rid of her. Now you can hire someone who will actually bother to show up and do the job they get paid to do. 4) Sami's own parents can't be bothered to care about her so why would she care that some aunt that she never talks to has disowned her?

So now EJ is telling Gagby that what they did wasn't horrible? STFU. What kind of idiot acts like this when they're trying to get their wife back. He's dumber than Brady right now.

Shut up Gagby with your fake crying. You don't even care about your job so I'm not sure why you're acting all upset.

So Maggie can play nice with Nicole but not Theresa?

I will never root for Gagby no matter how hard the writers try and make me.

Will does and the others don't need to know what she's doing to be affected by it. Having their father in jail when they want him around, putting on the show of a wedding with them around with the cops coming into arrest EJ. Any of the kids could have still been there. Sami's shown no care at all for her children and that could be what Will's story is really about, growing up and a personal piece about a monster selfish parent who sets out to destroy and doesn't think of the consequences or her kids.

I recognize that Will knows what Sami is doing simply because he's old enough to.

But the show hasn't shown Johnny, Allie, and Sydney having any awareness whatsoever of what is going on. Allie looked like she had no idea thta EJ had been in jail when she brought in the cranes. Johnny seemed to act like EJ had gone nowhere when he was in the park with EJ and Rafe. Who the heck knows where Sydney ever is.  Therefore, Will writing this story, and then making everything obvious to them of what they didn't know before seems rather stupid to me. I don't get the logic at all.

What if another newspaper starts digging, and Will unwittingly lets himself be discovered that he shot EJ and was an accessory to what happened to Nick? Will seems kind of dumb...He's not an innocent in terms of some of the acts he's participated in. Sami has protected him from being found out, but by calling attention to his mother, isn't he sort of calling attention to his own stupid deeds too? People start digging  when you call attention to your family's personal life. Has Keeping Up With the Kardashians taught him nothing???

Ok, at this point, I don't care who is right and who is wrong because DAMN this show is good!  So much is happening and I don't want to miss anything.  Kate's scheming with Victor and then Victor goes behind her back (?) to EJ who is his usual stupid self. Sami's acting like Queen Elizabeth on a reality show and kicking everyone in the teeth.  Abby's getting fired by her sweet Aunt Kayla and OH NOES! she has to admit to bad behavior IN WRITING!  Kristen's slapping and punching Daniel like she knows how much we all wish we could do it.  THIS IS GOOD STUFF!  Everything's fun except Eric having yet another crisis of faith with Friar Skidrow. Ugh, how many more times do I have to hear this crap?  Just get on with it Eric, marry Nicole so we can all look forward to your inevitable divorce and crisis of conscience over that.

I hope they can keep it up because it really is a lot of fun.

Will was a child and ended up being a pawn in the same games Sami pulled with Lucas/Austin. Whether Will knew what Sami was doing or not, because he spent most of the time with Grandma being babysat, he was still affected by the games they all played against each other. Being used as a ping pong ball and feeling the animosity.

The kids will pick on quick if they haven't already that  EJ and Sami aren't happy newlyweds. Sami screaming at him they'd be able to hear from other parts of the house. Sonny, Will and the lack of coming around. The fact Will wants nothing to do with Sami. Why they can't go over to Will's and see the baby. It's really easy for kids to realize the family is broken.

Yes, I think the kids in time will pick up on what is going on between EJ and Sami, if they haven't already,  but if I were Will I wouldn't want to contribute to that tension even further. But that's what Will is doing in writing the story. He's heightening the awareness, if not facilitating it.  I don't get his sense of logic, although maybe if CM were still in the role, I'd be inclined to care more. This Nu-Will is hard to read. So I'm just going based on surface action -- and writing a story about your mom's business and pretending that you're not contributing to that tension seems odd to me.

I don't find Will's motives to make any sense unless maybe he got hit by the Abigail stick where he thinks he's a better person than he really is.

EXcellent posts!  This show is really good these days - thanks largely to Sami and Kate, and Theresa and Eve.  I'm in line with the rest of you, asking for more, please!

Sami's kids will let this roll off their backs like the Salemites they are.  Parents screaming at each other in Salem is like the cooing of doves in other places.  Or, crickets....that's it!  Crickets!  And all Johnny will be sad about is not getting any more of Abigail's cupcakes.  Besides, the bakery is closed at the moment.  Although I expect Abigail to be on the prowl ASAP now that Sami gave her the gift of unemployment.

Making a big deal of Abigail losing her job isn't working, mainly because she never did.  Hell, they could abolish Jenn's position and she'd never even know, unless Maxine called her at home and told her.  To try and sell us on the idea that Abigail was some sort of asset to the hospital is pretty silly.  Sillier than Sami being on the board, actually.  I've SEEN who sits on hospital boards, and actually, she's a step up from some.

And that little slimeball Willy can go suck more lemons.  I hope that sour look he keeps on his puss becomes permanent after his plot to punish his mother with the horror of seeing her and EJ together - something he ONLY pulls out of his hat when he wants to hurt her - backfires in his face.  He and Abigail aren't all that different.  Whenever they do something sketchy, it's no big deal.  But God HELP anyone they disapprove of coloring outside the lines they set.

Maybe now that JJ isn't cleaning up the Square, Abigail can get his vest and do the same.

I’m loving everything Sami is doing, and I don’t see what she has done that is so terrible.  So far, Sami has told the truth, and asked Kayla to enforce hospital policy.  Compared to what Sami and Kate are capable of, this is child’s play.  I’m ready for Sami to move onto destroying EJ though.  That should be even more entertaining.

Will told Sami he didn’t care what she did to EJ so Will doesn’t have a problem with all of Sami’s revenge plans.

It sucks that Victor might sell Kami out to the Dimeras.

Kayla was married to Jack's brother Steve/Patch, so she was Abby's aunt by marriage, but now that she and Steve are divorced, they're only related because of a former marriage.  But everybody still calls Maggie Aunt Maggie, and she's no longer married to a Horton.

I liked Kate/Victor today, though I missed part of their conversation.  Victor is just going to yank EJ's chain and not screw over Kate, right?

Maggie being decent to Nicole was a refreshing change.  But Kayla?  I take back saying that she was more interesting than Jennifer and Abby, since these writers have turned her into nothing more than a device for the Devereaux shrews.  The amount of propping those two received today was sickening.

Kayla being this upset over Jen and Abby makes no sense whatsoever, neither does her disowning her own family.  It's understandable that she would be upset/disappointed/disgusted that Sami would withhold a promised donation to get what she wants, but to stomp off and be as hateful as she was?  Very strange.  If this is the only Kayla I'm going to get, then I'd rather have none.

At least stupid Abigail is finally facing some consequences for fucking EJ.  But otherwise, this revenge story is being ruined by everyone rushing to defend and support Abby and Jen.

Jen calling Sami a monster was funny, though it's difficult to take Jen seriously when Missy Reeves wears sleeveless dresses.  It only emphasizes her bobble head.  Sami's parting shot accusing Jen of jumping Daniel's bones before Jack was cold was awesome.

Kristen's hair is bad... but I liked that black dress she was wearing.  So she's holding Dr. Tan to get to Brady?  I missed the last couple of days.

LOL. EJ telling Abigail that we "connected" is not a smart way to score points with your wife. That's probably why Sami is so pissed. She know it was more than just sex between them. But he doesn't seem to be to concern because he knows Sami is going to take him back. She can't do without a man for very long. True love at its finest!!!

Kate called Sami Samantha - I love it.  I hope Sami and Kate are going to demolish the Dimeras, and there is not going to be some last minute reconciliation with Sami and Elvis.  EJ is not sorry he cheated, he is still blaming Sami, and he would cheat again in a New York minute.

I couldn't even watch when EJ and Abby got to talking in the park.  Really show??  You're going to play this off like a semi-interesting love affair, even though you pulled it out of nowhere?

It's nice seeing Kristin again, but I might have to wait until her storyline is compiled by some fan and posted onto YouTube.

It's a shame that even though Kristin and EJ (and presumably Stefano) will all be around for Sami's goodbye storyline...she isn't trying to kill off one of them.  Not that I want Kristin dead, mind you, but I wish we could have gotten even a slight blaze of glory here.  Sami trying to get Abby fired is just so...trivial...

I think the EJ and Abby thingy probably could have played out as some kind of love affair if there was actual continuity going on.....but today was really random. No wonder JS is leaving (not because he's opposed to another pairing, but because the writing doesn't move from A to Z in a logical way). Nothing about their scene today seemed to make sense in terms of what happened before (when EJ embarrassed Abigail in the conference room), and JS seemed like he was channeling another random British character to play the part of EJ. His dialogue today sounded strange to my ears, but maybe that's because I couldn't understand why EJ was calling another lady "breathtakingly beautiful" while trying to get Sami back.  And since when does EJ find integrity attractive? Today was odd for Junior. I'm now waiting to hear that Kristen put a drug in his drink or something...

I've been able to deal with abrupt changes before, but today's scene seemed unusually abrupt. Maybe the show will have Sami assuming EJ has some kind of feeling for Abigail (even though the show never really pushed that angle before to any great unambiguous degree)  --- hence, Sami's increasing anger against Abigail -- and then EJ and Abby find themselves getting closer, with everybody else on the show rooting them on....and then he dies ....and then Abigail will be grieving about another Dimera while she carries around the Dimera urn?

Edited to add:

I also just remembered that EJ and Sami are officially married now, so Abigail's question of "Do you want us to be together again?" (or whatever it was she said) sounded more stupid this time. I thought she was supposed to be taking responsibility? So why was she asking that they could be together now that he's married to someone else? Yeah, I know he sounded like a tool today, but her  go-to assumption continues to make her seem like a fake-y. Geez, EJ and Sami haven't even married a month yet, but despite however weird EJ sounds, her belief that he'd jump right back into bed with her makes her a bundle of insincerity. Abigail is not the worst person ever to appear on Days, but, wow, what a fake-ster. Maybe I was supposed to sense irony in EJ telling Abigail about her integrity....

Only on Planet Horton would the conversation between Kayla and Sami, and then between Kayla and Jenn and Abigail have played out the way it did.  In OUR world, if a 20 million donation was threatened because a low-level employee couldn't keep her cupcakes in their containers and had an inappropriate relationship with a board member, that employee would have gotten the dressing down, NOT the corporate donor.  There would have been a lot of groveling going on so that money wasn't lost.

And even with Kayla liking Abigail, she would have let her know in no uncertain terms what her thoughtlessness had almost cost the hospital.  And anyone attempting to throw shade back at the wronged party aka Sami would have been told to shut it, that not only does the wronged party have the right to feel the way they do, that it was STUPID beyond reason to have put that donation in danger.

All you have to do is change out Abigail for Theresa and see how different Kayla - and everyone's - reaction would have been.  They all would be furious with Theresa, certainly not feeling sorry for her.  But then again I guess she doesn't make cupcakes....

And now we have Abigail being delusional enough to think she can take on Sami??  She's like that character in the first Indiana Jones movie who was threatening Harrison Ford with some fancy knife moves, and Harrison Ford just got tired of the whole thing, took out a gun and shot the idiot dead.

Jenn running into the Pub to call Sami a MONSTER was pretty funny.  She looked and acted like one of those stock characters you see in old movies who was always SHOCKED by other people.  And Sami shot her down very distinctly with her quip about Jack.

I wonder what Victor is up to?  I hope he's not going to interfere with Kate and Sami, but if he is, I think it will be good story.  I can't imagine having too much Victor.

Why doesn't Eric just kiss Father Squiggy and get it over with?  Either that, or make him take a bath.  The good priest looks a little skunky to me.  Maybe he rubs incense under his arms...

Kristen is back.  All I can say is that at least she's kidnapped Daniel, so that's good.  And now she wants Brady, too.  If she gets him and then takes Abigail and Jenn, we are in a Win-Win situation!  Otherwise, wake me when she's gone.

I never cared for Eileen Davidson on Y&R and have flat-out disliked her since she was horribly miscast as the last Kelly Capwell on Santa Barbara and nothing I have seen these past two days has made me revise my opinion.

When people (jncluding Eric) refer to his brother are they talking about Brady? I couldn't think of anyone else, and thought they might consider themselves brothers even though they have no birth parents in common (like JR and Jamie on AMC) because of the long Marlena/John connection.

Yep, that's Brady and Eric, because of Jawn and Marlena.

But they actually could pass as biological brothers, considering how dumb they both are.
