Pissy is the word I use, blanchowens.  Both are fitting.  The sour look he was sporting today, along with the hunched over shoulders and awful hair style, were not doing him any favors.  I'm sure GW is a nice guy, but he is not a very good Will Horton.  I wish they'd recast or write the character off.

 

Sorry to say, but I also wish they'd recast or write off Paige.  I thought True O'Brien had a lot of potential at first but now ... not so much.  I dunno if it's her or the character or both.  Maybe if they'd give Paige her brains back along with a new found sense of humor I'd like TO'B again. 

 

She said something about her and the writers taking Abigail to the next stage. It sounded like she wouldn't be part of that next stage.

 

This really needs to be true.  I despise Abigail and can't stand the way KM portrays her.

Speaking of distracting: Nicole's hair. A few weeks ago, it looked nice. Not that slicked back business she used to sport or this current wavy, unkempt looking mess, but smooth and styled, but with just the right amount of volume. Why do they keep messing with it?

Never mind her crazy spit curl hair, what the fluff is going on with her wardrobe? Those sharp-looking black and white feathers on the black tunic thing make her look like some sort of ninja target practice dummy stuck full of arrows, or possibly an angry ostrich in battle mode. Is some ticked-off wardrobe flunky actually trying to tar and feather Zucker?

I also liked Chandler as Will, this new guy is just horrible with the bad acting, the awful facial expressions, the horrible clothes, the bad "do"...he truly is prissy/pissy lol.  And the whole premise that he has to take his wedding ring off to interview Paul is just stupid and the fact that he didn't really press why he had to take his wedding ring off to interview the guy was just plain lame.  Surely the writers could have come up with something better to move the s/l forward which is going to be soooo predictable. 

 

What's with all the characters on this show that have sour pusses lately?  Will, Paige, and the worst of the lot Jordan.  Lucky for us not too much of the hideous Ben this week.  If it wasn't for some of the old time regulars I would stop watching, some of these new casting choices are downright painful to view.

 I'm kind of shocked that the Days stylists have actually succeeded in making someone who is Arianna Zucker's height and build look kind of...I hesitate to say bad because she's still better looking than me even when she's walking around with electrocuted hair and Kim Kardashian's boa feathers....but the styling is so weird. 

 

She fits a highly-sought after standard of American beauty that sells magazines, so I think it's safe to assume  that off this show this lady would be the one  everyone is likely to turn around to stare at when she walks into a room, yet....what have they done to her hair???

God.  There were more fakes onscreen today than you'd find at a Kardashian family reunion.  Kardashians seem to love their butts and Salem sure as hell seems to love their superfluity of assholes.  Show actually put me in a bad mood.

 

Mel ain't cute.  And she's not adowwwabul, either.  She's too damn old to be acting like she's going to break out into a Shirley Temple rendition of "The Good Ship Lollypop" at any moment.  It would be seriously creepy to see this character in any sort of sexual relationship considering her insistence on acting like a  prepubescent girl.  That whole dropping crap thing she did at the elevator with Eric was just embarrassing.  Grow up or get outta town, knucklehead.  

 

Doctor Dan can just STOP with the "my equipment is sooooooooooooo huge my thighs can't even touch" nonsense.  He may think he projects all this MASCCCULINNE energy but all he looks like is a guy whose wearing panties three sizes too small.   And Eric, of course, may be interested in Serena, but that interest does NOT go south of the border.  He's loosened up some, but he still looks like he closes his eyes reaaaall tight every time he has to change his clothes so he won't catch a damning glimpse of his naughty bits.

 

I understand what some of you are saying about Serena's eye movements - I think it's part of MA's acting tics but it doesn't bother me.  I appreciate VERY much, whether it's true to the character or even if it will last, that she's about the only female on screen who is acting neither hysterical or particularly entitled and can do a scene without screaming.  I really, really appreciate that.  

I don't know if she can make Pinocchio into a real boy, but if she can't get some wood from this guy then he better just move back in with Mar Mom and see if he can snag that job running the Bates Motel.

 

Maybe it's the tone that Show set today with Mel and Abigail, but Paul was creeping me out.  It's like he thinks in a Rico Suave video with that constant "Come ona my house" smile - and he's got as many teeth as Mel.  The better to EAT you with, I guess.  He's moved from verging on into full weird flirty guy who everyone should want to avoid.  Paul needs to dial it down in the world and dial up his online porn and CHILL OUT.  Or maybe he could just go to the pet store and see if they have any more Sneasels in stock.  Sneasels should be kept in their cages or they WILL chew through your power cords.

I don't want Abigail "taken to the next stage", I want her pushed off the stage, preferably from a great height.  And then Wily E. Coyote can drop a safe on that hobbit head until the smirk and the sneer are finally wiped off it.  Just aim for the bun, Wily!   

What a horror she was to lurch her misshapen sack of putrifying flesh over to to Theresa so she could spew her venom about Paul - all while she was delivering Christmas presents.  Yeah, she's got the spirit of the season, doesn't she?  That little scene was the perfect example of why I can't root for the "good" people of Salem against the "bad" ones.  In my 100 years of soap watching, I've never seen a show demand that we viewers celebrate as heroes a group like the smug, nasty, rather stupid but supremely self-satisfied Daniel, Jenn, Abigail, Jawn, etc., types.  Theresa could use that poker on a weekly basis and I'd probably be fine with it, because the GOOD folks are so completely unsympathetic.  

 

And could they write Nicole with any consistency, or this just an impossibility?  Is she getting over Eric, or not?  Is she smart, or not?  How about using AZ's obvious talents and quit wasting her with this nonsense??

Kim was the highlight of today's show.  I liked her interaction with Eve and also with Paige.  She's a pro and it shows.  

 

Show better kick it up a notch - or ten.

 

And because it can't be said enough, Abigail can just disappear.  Or at least swallow a hairball and go into a coma and become an organ donor.   There must be some nitwit out there who is in need of a smug transplant.

I like KdP and think she, with the right material, could be a real asset to this show. But you can see her teethmarks all over that doctor's office from where she'd chewed up the scenery trying to sell this wretched wrench-in-a-teen-romance story. Which is both annoying and a waste of talent.  I vote send Paige to Stanford for a while and let Eve and JJ explore a Mrs. Robinson/Benjamin relationship. 

This is it exactly. I actually think an Eve/JJ relationship storyline could be really good with the right writing (ha ha, yeah I know), but TIIC are wasting KDP and CM's talents on this ridiculously stupid (and obviously not working) 'horrible outside forces tearing the teen lovers apart.' TO is the weakest link in this whole thing; and I still have no idea why I'm supposed to care about JJ and Paige as a couple. I'm with you; Paige can stay in California and Eve/JJ can get a story.

I can kind of see some chemistry between JJ and Eve (or maybe it seems like there might be some since JJ and Paige are a bit of a dud), but if the writers wanted to explore an older woman/younger man relationship, they probably could have just done it without Paige being around. I don't really like the actress playing Paige but she does have a somewhat fragile look to her, and I picture the character having a nervous breakdown when she finds out what JJ and Eve have done. I hate storylines where a young woman winds up having a nervous breakdown because her mother was stupid enough to sleep with her daughter's boyfriend (Did Brooke's daughter on B and B have a breakdown? To be fair, I actually think this is a normal reaction to have).

We know that it's taped about 5 months ahead but even while the writers, directors, & Corday are looking at CM & TOB act out their scenes, they see what a dud this storyline is, and that CM is trying but TOB is just awful with her lack of acting range. LOL what are Soap Trope 1 and 2? All I know is that if Will and Sonny don't have sex before the end of the year, one of them is going to cheat with someone the first week of January. When EJ cheated on Sami on January 6, there was no sex and a tepid New Years Kiss. Looking at the brotherly hugs in the Christmas promo, things are not looking good.

And they really need to get rid of TOB. KM was on Twitter talking about how True is doing some good work at the moment, and I thought that that doesn't make it much of an endorsement if you consider the source.

Also, KM will end up being the episode leader for 2014. Apparently she was only tenth in the rankings for 2013, so that tells me all I need to know about KC's agenda.

KM's Twitter is kind of funny. Maybe she's really close to her castmates, but it's like she's dying to be everybody's friend. (That sounded more judgmental than was intended. It's just that she loves everybody so much, it's kind of ...different. KM must be the only person not weirded out by Austin Peck's hair.  And she's always so peppy and startlingly happy, I have to make sure not to read her Twitter when I'm in a down mood). I am impressed with her running ability and flexibility -- maybe she should  do barre pilates exercise DVDs instead of acting. i'd probably read a vegan recipe book by her. She has talents -- they just don't seem to be in acting. She does also seem to wear a  hat well.

Well, I finally caught up.

 

I'm predisposed to be partial to Serena anyway because I love MA to death, but that moment where Serena said that the conversation had become about her and turned it back to Eric? Won my heart. I can't remember the last time anybody said something like that - usually they're all too busy trying to make the conversation about themselves!

 

And I'm also liking her breathing some air into Eric. MA is one of those actresses who does well opposite men who have a tendency to be a block of wood. Unfortunately, they're not taking it all the way, i.e. ending the Nicole/Eric storyline, because both those characters badly need to be freed from each other. I don't see any future for them - their storyline together is boring and drags them both down: She's irritating and pathetic and he's uptight and unpleasant. Just no. This has gone on for too many months already. Nicole is appealing and watchable when AZ isn't forced to go around crying and obsessing over a guy, and GV has a great smile and even some charisma when he's just being asked to do some rom-com type stuff rather than heavy drama. Just end the Nicole/Eric thing altogether and let him have a story with Serena and let her have a story with Rafe or Daniel. I'd prefer a new guy for her, AZ really deserves better than GG or SC, but I do find that she has some nice chemistry with both men and makes them tolerable. And since she's not crying over them and obsessing over them, she can just be the awesome self she can be.

Nicole telling Eric to get over himself was made of WIN.

 

I have never really noticed until this past week and didn't quite understand Rocky Paige's nickname.  But now.  OMG.  That forehead is all I can look at.  She is just not a girl I'd imagine JJ to be interested in.

 

Toothy is seriously on my last nerve with her fights with and threats to Theresa. Grow up girly.

 

Brady needs to man up and admit that he was drinking and snorting coke long before Theresa entered the scene.  Yes she enabled him -- but enabled him to continue his addiction.  People (I'm looking at you Show) need to stop acting like she forced the coke spoon up Brady's nose.

 

I'm still on the fence about Serena. Yes, I see Eric light up with her. But there is something odd and off about her .... evasiveness ... for lack of a better word.  Nicole on the hunt will figure it out I'm sure.  But unfortunately since everything, including global warming, is Nicole's fault whatever dark, bad secret Serena is hiding will be all Nic's fault for discovering it.

 

I know I'm supposed to hate Clyde, but my long-time love for James Read is preventing me.  And I loved that he went head-to-head with Victor and the result was a draw. Evenly matched "villians" makes for good drama.

 

Several days without AbiFail -- the soap gods love me!

 

I like the slow burn with Hope and Aiden.  I'm intrigued where it's going and by the fact that Aiden still has secrets we don't know.  I was a Bope fans in the early years, but not for the last 15 or so.  I just can't root for a couple where the hubby feels like it's OK to disappear for years without a word to (maybe) find info to bring down the DiMeras.  And I really can't root for the thought that Hope should just put her life on hold forever waiting for Bo to maybe, someday decide to return.  I'm actually surprised it took her this long to file for divorce.

Speaking of the plastic mannequin, what is Ben going to do when Jordan leaves and Abby (inevitably) goes back to Chad? I know they're trying to draw parallels with EJami and Rafe with Babby and Chad, but the fatal flaw in the plan would be the fact that KM most likely is leaving soon. They could always recast Abby, but I don't see the point.

Plus Melanie, the other option for Ben, is going to be with Brady. To be quite honest, I would get rid of Abby and Ben and make a quad with Brady, Theresa, Chad and Melanie. Serena can be busy with Rafe, Nicole and Eric, etc.

My basic point is that Ben is irrelevant and I don't understand why RSW needs to be on this show and is still going to be on this show in six months' time. At this point, we know more about Paul than we do about Ben.

This show is always talking about how they don't have enough money for new sets etc. Off the top of my head, they should get rid of Eve and Lima Bean, Ben and Clyde and possibly Rafe because he's got nothing to do at the moment. That should free up a few bucks.

I don't think Abifail will be interested in Chad unless he starts making moves on Melanie or some new girl the writers bring on. I would like for Chad and Melanie to get together again and for Abifail to try and seduce him but fail. Melanie finds out and becomes Team Fuck Abifail, then the couple set out to destroy the freak.

Lefty (can I call you that, lol?) -- your synopsis just above is perfect. I'd love Melanie with Chad again and then to watch Abigail implode over it would be the icing. 

 

I'm just very worried about JJ and Paige and how that story will end with poor Paige intact. I'm bitter at the writers for the Eve/JJ liaison -- there's no turning back from that one. And if True O'Brien had better material to work with -- let her have some fun or at least an adventure that lets her character be fully realized -- I think she'd have an easier time with the fans. 

 

I could transition well if a Chad and Melanie match was hinted at or underway...

I must say I can't take this demonising of Will. Sneasel has been self-centered but I don't think he would ever stop bringing Ari to see her mother. Logically, he's only been back for two days tops and why is this show making it seem like you can just drop in at prison anytime? It's not like he promised Sonny and Rafe that he would take Ari and he didn't.

If Gabi was so concerned about having custody of Ari she should have thought about her daughter before she took the law into her own hands and shot Nick.

If anything, Gabi is the parent who has a long history of restricting or wanting to restrict Will's access to his daughter.

I'm glad Will was annoyed that Abby was the one to say something. She's always acting like she has rights where Ari is concerned even though she and Will are not on the best of terms. Like: ' how could Will leave before I could give Ari my present?' Ugh.

Yes, Will didn't return calls, but at least he wasn't off kissing exes Sonny.

Rafe and Gabi are so annoying , acting like Chad is the worst person ever. Gabi has done worse things than Chad at this point.

Why does Serena have a file on Eric? Creepy.

Tell it Sonny, tell that Sneasel to stop acting like a child. Two months is long to not see your child and the text was misleading on Sonny's part but sometimes you have to take drastic action to get someone's attention. GW is just a horrible actor, his facial expressions are a big turn off. I don't care if Sonny is in the wrong or the right, I will side with him over Sneasel any day of the week.

 

I will say that Jar Jar Binks needed to mind her own fucking business, I don't care if Sonny & Sneasel crowned her with the title of Ari's wicked BitchMother. Clyde isn't anonymous Jar Jar since you know who it is that donated the money and then gonna lie about it. IDK if Jar Jar species can change their hair color but AbiFail seriously needs to touch up them roots or go to her natural hair color.

 

Judgy Jenn also needed to mind her own business too, "Nicole who are you hear to see?" Like it's any of her damn business. Also I think Judgy Jenn does that shit on purpose. She goes around and let everyone know that she's not mad, this, that and the other so people in Salem will tell her that she's a "good" person when we know that she's a truly wretched hypocritical bitch.

 

What a way to mess up the afterglow Grimace, bring up Rafe. If I was Chad I would have kicked her right out of the bed. Let me tell you if I was in bed with Lucas or Sonny I wouldn't be saying a damn thing, would be going for 2nd's, 3rd's, 4th's, and 5th's lol. I would say JJ too but turn off on who he's related to.

 

BOllie is such a punk ass, Chad tells him to have a good day and he just gives him a look.

 

Toothy & Shrewena are just lame bitches with ugly ass dresses. I'm thinking if Toothy remove some of her excess teeth, her mouth might move normally. I would highly recommend Corbin Bernsen's character he played in The Dentist, I'm sure he'll be more than happy to extract some of her teeth.

They always say Mama is sick and can't travel but you're right.  I like to think Days planned to get Pilar to sign on so they could start a new family with storylines that weren't about Hortons and Bradys all the time.  Another "good" family.  But Rafe, Gabi, Ariana and Dario (remember him?)  were completely directionless without her to provide a home base.  She would have called out her hijo more than once for his stupidity. 

 

And she would have given Naggie a run for her money in the attractiveness department. Of course, nobody can compete with Kate in that age group. 

 

Really, really dreading Paul's mother whom I expect will be portrayed as a "tiger mom" to get us to try to sympathize with Paul.  (What, no nicknames for Paul yet?)

Reportedly writers don't have money for new sets which is laughable since Eric & BOllie both got new sets and Mr. Rapey gets a hotel set along with Paul getting a hotel set as well. Shrewena gets her own hotel room as well. The less time they spend building hotel sets, could be used to give people more permanent house sets. Really need to chop down BOllie's set cause the only person that's there is him and AbiFail.

 

Hope who's been on that show for a long time gets that tiny ass living room that was built in 5 seconds, can't even get a whole house set.

I don't like Sneasel (I agree the actor is horrible and getting worse), but it's not his fault Gabi is in prison.  I do find it kind of amusing that with Sami gone, all these people can't use her as their scapegoat anymore, and are turning on each other.  I believe Will sided with Gabi against Sami over and over again, and then wanted Sami, Kate, and EJ's help with Nick/Gabi, but continued to blame Sami every time something went wrong.  Will better hope Kate and Lucas are still willing to fight his battles for him.

 

At this point, there are more characters I would get rid of than keep. 

 

Keep - Kate, Theresa, Ciara, Victor, Chad, Sonny

 

It's a good thing Brady, Rafe and Eric are pretty.

 

Bring back Bo and Steve.

So, I think those scenes with Eric and Serena (and Melanie) were maybe the most awkward scenes ever on TV. At least we got double continent stereotyping today - BS I was in the Peace Corps and learned so much about myself in the middle of someone else's civil war, and the clearly less insulting but still ridiculous wooden shoes in Amsterdam. I mean really? Can the writers use google at least or something?

I don't understand the problem.  Serena was clearly laughing at Melanie about her wearing wooden shoes, and I see nothing at all wrong about learning about oneself in the middle of war.
