Food Network and Cooking Channel: One is about food

Still trying to force Buddy and his crew down our throats.

I'm glad the cookie show has a fixed panel with Gesnine and Jason.  A lot of the rotating judges on that show were annoying bloggers.

First Allison Hannigan and Kristen Chenoweth?  Is this really supposed to pull in new viewers?

Will never watch anything Buddy is in! I pray to TPTB that there will never be a repeat of the Buddy vs Duff show! I might give Allison Hannigan and Kristen Chenoweth a one time viewing just to see, but the baking/sweets shows really don't interest me as much as the savory side of cooking.

Until I went back to see this:

I thought you were talking about Bobby Flay's cat! Who I would actually tune in to see. 🤣

Apparently Raven Symone is hosting Holiday Wars.   I don't think Shin Min can balance out both Buddy's minion and her.   I may not be able to take this one.

Oh no. 😭 I didn’t know that. I wonder why Jonathan isn’t hosting? Dang it!

i also wonder if Nancy will feed Jesse from her fork as she has in past seasons of Baking Championship. 🤮

Food Network's Documentary RESTAURANT HUSTLE 2000: ALL ON THE LINE Premieres on Sunday, December 27th at 9pm ET/PT

Quote

Guy Fieri followed world-class chefs Maneet Chauhan, Antonia Lofaso, Christian Petroni, and Marcus Samuelsson documented the challenges their restaurants faced during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.  When local governments took unprecedented measures to close restaurants across the country, these restaurateurs embarked on an emotional roller coaster as they had to strategize how to save their businesses and keep their employees going.  From pivoting to takeout and delivery orders, to serving food to front line healthcare workers and people in need in their communities, each chef’s life and business will be forever changed by the global pandemic.

When I kept seeing the promos for Candyland starting Kristen Chenoweth, I thought, "How fitting!" KC and her treacly, high pitched voice will fit right in with all that sweet stuff. (Actually, I'm just criticizing that awful voice--she's really a nice person).

I just can't watch Guy in anything.  He is just too over the top for me.   I don't understand why he is so popular.   I have nothing against him, I just don't understand his "it" factor.

** Showbuzzdaily didn't have numbers available for Sunday 9PM's airing of 'Kids Baking Championship' special: apparently there was a programming error in some parts of the country, showing instead an episode of 'The Kitchen'; 'KBC's special aired on other parts as scheduled: the 12AM rerum's ratings were 425,000 viewers/0.10 demo

I missed the Kid's Holiday Baking special, was really bummed about it too.  I blamed Comcast but then when anything goes wrong in our house we usually blame Comcast, lol.

I searched out this forum to mainly say one thing:  I am so tired of hearing judges on any of these shows saying that ingredients 'play well together'.  Ugh. Just stop.

The Food Network put on their FB page that last week's Kids Baking Championship episode was instead an episode of The Kitchen due to a mistake on their end.  The reran the KBC episode yesterday and it's also available On Demand.

(Whether that was actually the case, that it was a control room mistake, that sounds a bit too convenient.  They should have been able to fix it pretty quickly unless something went really wrong.)

Once again, 'Holiday Baking Championship' was FN's most watched show for this past week, as new Sunday night tentpole game show 'Candyland', one of the network's most expensive, elaborated and heavily promoted shows, hosted by a well-known celebrity, premiered to a disappointing seventh place with a little more than a million viewers, with the behind the scenes special that followed as the least watched original.

Saturday's Thanksgiving episode of 'The Kitchen' was the most watched original for this past week and the second highest rated show in demo.

Episode 2 of 'Candyland' came at #9 for the week: it was down 20 percent in viewers and a huge 28% in demo from its premiere. Clearly, FN has to be disappointed with this numbers, as this was the network's final event show of the year.

Buddy Valastro's latest solo effort premiered basically to the same number of viewers as last year's 'Bake You Rich' (878,000 on 4/15/2019) and the same demo as this year's 'Big Time Bake' (0.20 on 6/8/2020). In the end, those two shows didn't fare well.
