S06.E02: Give Up the Ghostwriter

Aviva gets a book deal for her memoir; Sonja meets Aviva's ex-husband for dinner; Aviva hosts a housewarming at her new townhouse; Ramona spreads gossip about Carole.

OK Aviva is bonkers. I can't believe she thinks she and Carole are on the same level when it comes to being writers. Carole is right to be pissed.

Cannot STAND Aviva. She's being willfully ignorant about editing vs. ghostwriting and it's setting my teeth on edge.

I LOVE how Ramona and Sonja are letting the Aviva vs. Carole craziness play out, while batting their eyelashes and pretending not to know what's really going on.  I'm convinced that R and S are totally loving the battle between the delusional Aviva and the inflated Carole.   That said, I've love to see Carole threaten Aviva with a slander suit.

Of course they are, they both love a good bust up.
And I totally agree about the law suit, though I suspect there must be something in a contract that prohibits the cast from suing each other. Sigh.

In other news, I really enjoyed seeing Heather's little girl with Carole. I loved the interaction.

I dunno, Queen of Six.  The housewives may not be able to sue Bravo but going after each other may not be off the table.  And flinging it around, scary style, is all good too.  I don't think R and S care for either C or A so it's all good.  I don't blame them.  I'm sure the two veterans shared many a cozy night and yummy cocktail cackling about how dumb the two snobby newbies are.  Aviva is straight up nuts and not that swift and Carole, more muted, also managed to disrespect them last season.  Go for it, old gals! Don't EVER mess with the ladies who came of age in the 80s!

I wonder if " the people on the streets" that Aviva claimed to say that Carole had a ghostwriter could possibly be Jill Z. I heard that they are friends in real life.

I thought Kristen was over reacting at the Spartan Race. Did she really want her husband to hold her hand the entire time?

Carole did not impress last night. Someone should tell her you can't argue with crazy.

I can understand Kristen's being upset, and I wish her husband hadn't told her to man up. I also wish that she hadn't even done the race and had worked a booth instead, or something.

Maybe Kristen expected banners praising her finishing the race at the end.

I was so annoyed by Kristen's pouting about the Spartan race. She said she did the race to support her husband and then she was pissed that he didn't hang back to support her. IMO when you are participating in something to support someone else, it isn't about you. Her husband is a total Dick though.

When Kristen was crying to her husband both before and after the race I got the impression that he had REALLY downplayed what she was signing up for so I can understand her being freaked out. I just think he's a jerk because he said like 5 times that he promised he'd run with her and then just left her in the dirt.

Lisin, he admitted to downplaying the race because he knew she wouldnt participate, so that means he wanted her to do it, and yes he said he wouldnt leave her. He is a jerk for that. What kind of man tells his wife to "Man up"?

     I have not warmed up to Heather and her tellin Kristen she would stay with her even if she wanted to lay down for five minutes has me giving her the side eye.

Carole might be more right than Aviva but, meh, I just dont like her.

I really get Carole's umbrage at the ghostwriter allegation. However, she really had an incredibly superior attitude about Aviva's book versus her own. Usually when someone is so defensive I think they are actually insecure about the topic, I don't get that vibe from Carole so I don't really know what inspired her need to be so dismissive. Who cares if Aviva compares herself to you? The whole world knows the difference, why do you feel the need to make sure Aviva knows the difference?

I agree NYC I think Carole is my least fave of the bunch. She is condescending as hell. Aviva is bat s*it crazy but I love her brand of insanity. It is the only reason I am watching this.

I watched this again. Carole seemed to harbor a little resentment toward Aviva for arguing loudly with Ramona at her book shower the previous season. I think Carole sat down with Aviva, at the restaurant, feeling a little apprehensive, cautious, maybe even suspicious. I actually think Aviva innocently shared that she enjoyed writing the memoir, that it was a pleasant, easy and rather quick process for her. I think that's what rubbed Carole the wrong way, because for Carole, it is often not easy; Carole takes it very seriously and she will choose her words and phrasing very carefully.  

So I think that's why Carole responded the way she did, why it began to come across as condescending and why Aviva started getting really angry.
