How It's Going to End - speculation

Recommended Posts

I thought I would start a post for speculation about how the series is going to end.

Here's my guess.  We are going to see something akin to The Godfather ending -- with the kingpin antihero killing all the heads of the rival "Five Families" in one fell swoop, while at the same time personally confronting and killing the traitor on the inside of his "family."  We will find out that all of this season has been part of Jax's master plan to turn all the other gangs against each other to weaken them.  Then Jax will arrange the near-simultaneous murders of August Marks, Lin, Alvarez, whoever is now in charge of the One-Niners, and possibly others to consolidate his power.  He will then confront Gemma and tell her that he knows that she was the one who betrayed him by killing his wife, at which point she will be killed too, or convinced to kill herself first.  That puts Gemma in the "trusted traitor" role of Carlo from GF-I, or Fredo or Frank Pentangeli from GFII. ("I knew it was you Fredo!  You broke my heart!").  Like the Godfather, the series will end by showing that Jax has become the king, but at the price of losing his soul and his family, which he claims he cares most about.  His children will fear him, and will grow up wanting nothing to do with him (just like Michael Corleone).  Success as leader of the club goes hand in hand with personal tragedy.

I think Juice will die at the hands of one of the enemies Jax has made (Chinese/Marks etc..). Juice would get killed trying to help the Sons or in a shoot-out that is against the Sons. So instead of Juice dying at the SOA's hands, he'll die because of his not being able to let go of the club or the ties. They are his family that he loves and he can't let go of, even if that means he loses his life.

I do think family and that theme comes down to it all. Jax will triumph over the Chinese and Marks. Getting guns, drugs and a new clubhouse back at the end of the wars he started and when it's all over.

I think Jax lives, Gemma lives, Wendy raises the kids. Jax would pop in and out and either Wendy moves back with the boys to Jax's or they stay at Gemma's.  I don't think Jax kills her, but he would kill Nero for revenge instead. Eye for eye, his love for her love. I think Nero would die by Jax's hand, leaving Jax and the Sons with all of the porn business too.

Bobby, Chibbs, Unser, Tig, Happy, Rat... All live and life carries on for them as normal, The cops lose.

I think the final scene would be one of the group at the table doing a meeting,

I don't know how they get there, but Unser will be the only principle character still standing.

I'd love for the new sheriff to have had a major hand in it.  She would make a great female preying mantis to to the male Chibs!

I think Juice will die, but not before he tells someone what happened to Tara. I think Jax will probably take out the other gangs, but not before his most trusted guys (Tig, Bobby, Chibs, Happy maybe even Wendy) get killed. Then in the end it will be him with his super powerful club full of guys he doesn't really know, stuck with his terrible mom who he knows is evil for the rest of his life. I like the idea of being back where it started, but I can see it being a so much worse version of that where it is almost like a prison for Jax (can't leave the club because all your trusted people are dead (thanks to you)) and maybe can't even kill your mom because they your kids will have no one to look after them.

There has to be a parallel to Hamlet for the ending.  However, I think there will be a commentary on the change in California.  At the inception of SAMCRO whites were dominant, there was a belief that things only get better (money, possessions, love, fun, etc.) and MC clubs were counterculture--individualists and so on.  Today, whites are losing their power to other ethnic groups, the belief that things "only get better" is gone--no more "Endless Summer", and MC clubs are simply criminal organizations.  SAMCRO is in the vice of this change--and gets crushed.

Agreed-- SAMCO is such an anachronistic entity-- if you think about it the only "young members" are Jax and Ratboy.

This is not so much a prediction, but my fervent wish, and that is to have Jax's realization of all the bad done by his Mother, flash before his eyes like the reveal of who Keyser Soze was in The Usual Suspects.  The clues were there all the time, he just didn't see them.

The only reason I kind of want Jax to live is because I am thinking of the whole fate worse than death outcome could be better than him just getting killed.

Maybe a flash forward to an adult Abel, slightly younger Thomas and one of Opie's boys (he had to have at least 1 son in that group, right?) wearing their cuts showing that Jax doomed his kids to his same fate.

I like that idea. Although even worse would be if his sons were just run of the mill small time criminal/drifter types ( so still in a similar lifestyle to Jax) who want nothing to do with SAMCRO or their father. That would really hammer home the whole idea of what was the point of it all.

Wow, I wish I'd found this forum before - no one I know watches Sons!

I think Jax will find out that Gemma killed Tara, but not until just about everyone in Charming is dead.  Whether or not Jax grows a conscience again (although it seems unlikely he will), the revelation will make him return to his (or Tara's) fixation about the boys never becoming part of SAMCRO. . . ever.  Jax will will take the boys home, lock the doors and turn on the gas.  Maybe the three of them can be playing on the floor in the kitchen where Tara died when the house blows up, killing all three of them while Gemma watches what she has wrought.  She's already going bonkers, having conversations with Tara's ghost; losing "her boys" should drive her completely mad.  Maybe that's when she can turn into the mysterious muttering bag lady who was around in the earlier seasons.

I still can't believe Nero's devotion to Gemma at all, nor do I buy the Althea-Chibs attraction - but that may be because Annabeth Gish is so plain and sexless in this role.

Finally. . . Courtney Love as a pre-school teacher?  Now THAT made me laugh.

If we're continuing to follow Hamlet, Chibs will be left standing at the end to tell the story.  Gemma has to die by her own hand like Gertrude.  Perhaps when she realizes that Jax knows what she did to Tara, she'll take her own life.  Where are those letters Tara stashed?  Maybe Jax will find them.

Maybe in the end Tara will wake up in the hospital after her hand got crushed and we'll be told that from that point on it was all a dream. Tara will finally put her brain to use, realize Jax is never leaving the club and get the boys and herself the hell away from Charming.

I've gotta say this season hasn't been what I expected. I don't expect a happy ending but with Tara's death there's really no one to root for, maybe Nero but even he's caught up in Gemma's web of lies.

This past weekend, I finally finished watching "The Shield".  Kurt Sutter exec produced It and wrote some episodes, and I can't help be seeing a lot of similarities.  Mackey & his crew just kept getting progressively more corrupt and violent as the seasons progressed.  He was the last man standing, having seen his career & family burn down around him.  Close friends betrayed him and his own children in witness protection.  So many overlapping performers, most notably Katy Sagal, CCH Pounder & Walton Goggins.  Of course, Kurt himself played the murderous Margos Dezerian.

I assume that no matter how it ends, it will be brutal & leave Jax a shell of the man he was.  All bridges burned and a cold, lonely future.  Just like Vic Mackey.

Everybody dead, based on what we have seen.

I did like the ending to the Shield, but don't see this ending the same way. Based on the past few seasons I think a more brutal ending is in story for Jax than for Vic.

I thought the letters were hidden in some trailer that Jax and Tara were using for storage - but that was so many season ago that I'm not sure.   I think Gemma has morphed from Gertrude to Lady Macbeth, but LM killed herself too.  And Abel?  Wow!  So young to be so psychotic!

What I would love to see is Nero and Wendy go off and raise the 3 kids simply because they get one another, both coming from a place of addiction.  And I think they could keep each other straight.  And I've been saying since Venus last came around that I want her and Tig to ride off into the sunset together.

And I've been saying since Venus last came around that I want her and Tig to ride off into the sunset together.

Question, and forgive me since I'm not up to speed on the ins and outs of club rules (partially due to the fact that they turn on a dime), But, say Tig did want to leave the club of his own free will and ride off with Venus, he could do so, right? There would be none of that burning/cutting off of tattoos business? Since Jax never left with Tara, I didn't know if this was possible.  Like is it a case of " you're SAMCRO for life until you mess with us."?

Pathetically I know this.  He could leave, but he would need to cover the SAMCRO tattoos.  The burning/cutting only happened if the MC learned you hadn't done that.

I wonder if the last episode with Abel and the axe is foreshadowing of at least part of the end.  Either a flash-forward with Abel as a small time hood, or in jail, or the leader of the MC.  Or he kills Thomas (or would Thomas have to kill him to be true to the Cain v Abel story?).  Or as an adult he learns Gemma killed his first mother figure and he kills her, that'd be poetic justice for Gemma's fate.

Sutter could have Jax killing off the other MCs' leaders (he's already started), but the character just hasn't been written as a brilliant guy to plan that out.  I don't see how he could consolidate all the various ethnic groups under his sole leadership though.

I'd like to see - if they have Jax kill off even more people (what's the head count this season?) - he ends up in jail with NO allies, and gets the shit beaten out of him.  Repeatedly.

Charlie had made a comment in the EW cover story about the show being about the club/guys and wanting to see it end with them, I'm thinking other than who dies out of the club, it will end with them in tact.

Prediction. Based on what I've read, Sutter's going to use Adam Raised a Cain by Springsteen for the final montage.. Lyrics linked here.http://songmeanings.com/songs/view/7993/

That would be a good choice. Stutter is promoting this song a lot. For some reason it made me think it would be a popular hit. That would be instantly recognizable.

I'm thinking the club has fallen apart. Most of the members are dead, in prison, or running. The Mayans and August Marks organization have divided the SOA territory and operations. Gemma finally confesses to killing Tara somewhere public and Jax kills her anyway. Jax goes to prison for the rest of his life. Wendy raises Abel who is a model citizen, but Thomas with no living relatives ends up in the foster system. Flashforward. Thomas who has had no one for the past 20 years ends up killing Abel(robbery gone wrong or whatever) and ends up in prison for life.

I was thinking today about when Tara wanted to leave with Jax, he mentioned that outside of the club he really couldn't do anything, and the thought of her supporting him didn't seem right to him. So thinking of that I kind of like the idea of SAMCRO getting completely wiped out and Jax having to be on his own and supporting himself and his boys.  If they could figure out a way to throw Gemma into the mix so that Jax has to live with her, knows what she did, but can't kill her that would be even better.

With his Dad, just like the various Lock-Up shows!  Hey, some reality.    Or flash-forward 30 years, Abel the son of the junkie has become a doctor, and the junkie son of the doctor kills him.

Of course in real reality, depending on CA law Jax could give Wendy power of attorney or consent for her to become guardian/conservator over Thomas.

After the events of "Greensleeves", and the series' last song being something like "Adam Raised a Cain" (I'm not familiar with it so that title may be off), maybe this happens: Abel gets ahold of one of Gemma's guns and attempts to shoot her. Shot goes wild and hits baby Thomas instead. That would certainly devastate the whole family and hark back to the school shootings.

Based on the promo, I'm surprised that it looks like they may go there with Jax finding out the how JT died truth from Jury. It would make sense that Jury knew or had an idea since he was around JT/Clay/Gemma during that era. Jax finding out about JT could lay foundation for the news on Tara to come out.

I have decided i want this to end the way i wanted Dexter to end. Abel standing over the body of a dead hooker or better yet Wendy with a bloody knife giggling like a happy child playing and then camera veers to Jax with a look of sheer horror on his face at what he reeped.

I took a look at the preview, and it seems that Gemma is recoiling in horror about something in her home.  I wonder if maybe Abel, killed her birds.   Definitely a hallmark of sociopathic behavior- doing harm to animals.

Thomas (and Abel) has Aunt Trinity - even though show seems to have forgotten JT had a daughter with Maureen Ashby. I think Jax will be dead or in prison at the end of the series. My hope is that Grandma Gemma ends up in prison; knowing that her precious grandsons are being raised in Ireland by Mo and Trinny; and she will never see them again the rest of her miserable life. Much as I'd like to see Gemma dead for all the lives she has destroyed, I feel like a worse punishment for her would be to live without having anyone she loves still in her life.

I really have no idea how it will end.  I've been listening to podcasts and reading what I can find on the internet.  Some seem to think that Chucky is a Fed, some think that Ratboy will live up to his name.  I think it's most likely that Jury has a plan for revenge on Jax and that Robocop will help  put an end to" Handsome Jack's" plans.  But one thing has been bothering me.  Why did Juice go to Jax & Tara's house the night of her murder?  Did he ever say?

Whatever happens, it will be gruesome.  I think the only thing that would really bother me is if Gemma gets away with murder and the show ends with her still thinking of herself as Grandma of the year.

BetyBee IIRC Jax sent Juice to find his mom after the bumbling cancer non-victim, Unser burst into the ice cream shop claiming she ran out on him and took his truck. That's also the moment, again IIRC, that Jax embraced Juice and whispered, "You buhtrayyyyud meh." Then, Juice left and all hell broke loose. I hate Unser with the heat of a 1000 suns.

Thanks, leisawoo.  I do remember Jax whispering that to Juice, but I didn't remember him sending him after Gemma.  I dislike Unser too - he's the one who got Gemma all upset with his misinformation.  Everyone seems to forget how upset she was that night and to forget about her stealing Unser's truck.

I think it will end with Jax's arrest for multiple murders... including killing Gemma, which will happen soon.  That new sheriff is up to something.

However, Kurt Sutter likes to shock, so who knows what will happen? Every single last one of them could wind up dead.

I've been thinking a lot about this. I don't think Gemma will die, at least not by Abel's hand. That is too dark a place for even Sutter to go to.  I think that he keeps showing us how awful Gemma & Jax are when it comes to parenting kids for a reason. I mean really, burying Uncle Bobby steps from the cabin & laying him on the picnic table where Abel can and did see him - all shot up and missing an eye! And let's not forget there there is a junkie in the house (2 actually) and drugs as well as loads of guns.  It's ridiculous. I think he's showing the relative better parenting of Wendy and possibly Nero (though I think he's doomed) because he has plans for the kids to get out of Charming and away from the poison that is Jax & Gemma. Nero may hand over access to the farm to Wendy with his dying breath, but I believe that is where she and the boys will land. Since Gemma knows all about the farm and no one could keep her from "her boys" she will either have to die or go to prison. I think she'll go to prison and Jax will die.

As for Unser, we are going to waste at least 2 more episodes with him blabbing all to Gemma. His ridiculous love for her is what facilitated her murdering Tara in the first place. I would imagine that he is doomed as well, but since he's a "good" guy, he'll probably die saving someone - Eglee, Wendy or the kids.

I'm not sure who the "rat" is - I think it's quite likely Chucky, since his hands are not as dirty as Rat's, but Rat is the other possibility. They have both had some odd close ups that seem to be pointing out that they might be duplicitous.  If it's a long term rat working with the feds, then I think it's one of those 2. If it's a short term rat, only "guilty" of revealing the whearabouts of the guns to the Chinese, then I think it's Barosky.  He seems pretty fed up with Handsome Jack.

Was it ever confirmed that there is a rat?  I missed a couple of episodes, so I'm confused.  Is it just speculation on our part?

I have to disagree here.  I think the reason Sutter is showcasing Jax and Gemma's shitty non-parenting and Abel's serial killer precociousness is because the life poisons you from the start no one gets out of it, ever.  Thomas might be raised by someone with a clearer head than these nutbags, but I really think Abel is doomed.  I don't see a happy ending for him after this season; either he will grow up to be an even creepier, detached version of his father, or he will be killed.  The latter will be the ultimate punishment for Gemma, especially if she also loses Jax, but whatever happens, it is going to be brutal.

If Unser doesn't do a better job of hiding his police files, either Gemma or Jax will find them and someone else will die.  Gemma's way would be to suggest Unser is a rat, or some other shit.  Jax, he could go postal if he figures out his mother lied to him.  Of course, he's been written as a genius and an idiot, so I guess it depends on how he's written in the scene where he reads the guy Mom pegged as at Tara's house the night of her death was actually sleeping in a drunk tank in Vegas that night.

I wonder if there will be some mutually assured distruction thing, where Abel does something shocking, which exposes Gemma's secret, but Jax can't retaliate or go to the cops because then he will lose his kids to child services. That would be an interesting way to end the series and torture of Jax. Especially if killing Jury means losing SAMCRO too.

If the other chapters of SOA "vote against" Jax, he will be killed, not simply exiled.
