snarts Tuesday at 03:04 PM Author Share Tuesday at 03:04 PM Why didn't Gary honk the horn to wake up the captain of the other boat? Cloyce reminds me of Leon, thinks he's so amazing that he can just phone it in. While Cloyce actually responded after being called out by Glenn he should've been more receptive to Daisy's suggestions. He's just so condescending and douchy. 7 1 Link to comment
Baltimore Betty Tuesday at 03:11 PM Share Tuesday at 03:11 PM I want to be in Emma's corner but she lost me, doing the least and looking pathetic while doing it...she really cannot be surprised that Gary spoke to her about her work ethic or lack there of. Cloyce made a few interesting courses for the Sweet 16 but it was three tiny portions then the cake? Well, at least he made a cake that looked good. Every time Glenn decides it is time to sail the galley and stews are always surprised, shit goes rolling, we hear dishes and pans crashing, cabinets fly open etc...it's a sailing yacht why don't they store things securely all the time? So the mother of the birthday girl traveled with cheap decor, tiara's and fans and whatnot but requested a white glove dinner? Sure Jan, those two things align. 3 7 Link to comment
faraway Tuesday at 04:18 PM Share Tuesday at 04:18 PM (edited) It seems like the staff is on their personal phones more often this season, and maybe more than other Below Deck shows. I could be wrong, but also I'm surprised they can have their phones with them all the time. I like Glen, but he doesn't seem to run a very tight ship. Added- I looked it up and it sounds like they are not supposed to be on their phones when with clients, so I'll have to watch more closely next time. It's so dumb. You'd think by now they would have fixed all the latches on the cabinet doors, drawers, etc. 5 2 2 Link to comment
aghst Tuesday at 05:54 PM Share Tuesday at 05:54 PM Five seasons in and they still show things falling, splashing, people trying to balance, cabinet doors flying open. They obviously want this footage and they have a special musical theme when Glen says "we're going sailing!" It's part of the schtick, though I like the opening theme of the show with the female choir with the high-pitch trilling to connote winds. Because they have a sailing yacht! That's not the only repetitive thing of course. We have the usual boy girl drama, Danni calling Keith insecure because she kissed Gary and he decides that he's over the attention she gives to every eligible male around. Danni says whatever, onto the next and texts the cabana boy but the next morning, she's the one acting cold to Keith. Then the chef is going to have to whip up something not only pleasing to palates but IG-worthy as the guests inevitably are photographing the plating with their phones. I don't know why they don't just find a TikTok guy who makes photogenic cakes as the next chef on one of these BD shows. Speaking of which, they haven't had the episode with social influencer guests yet. Or porn stars. Half a season left so stay tuned! 3 2 Link to comment

It's like crack, or something. I'm a hopeless addict😎 But this lame season is testing my limits. Emma is useless. Gary is still a jerk. Daisy annoys the crap out of me. The whining stews are cringeworthy. Cloyce is up and down, but I'll cut him some slack being only 22. Keith is very smart avoiding the Danni drama and seems to have it together. Davide seems to be the smartest one there. Glenn is up and down too. Lay down the law, yet give Emma a few more days??? WTF? He should have been looking for a replacement days ago. Scenery is awesome! Maybe I'm old, but Alana looked older than Sweet 16. 5 1 Link to comment
SemiCharmedLife Wednesday at 06:25 AM Share Wednesday at 06:25 AM I'm glad Cloyce stepped up his game this charter. He's aware of "chef's ego," but doesn't think that applies to him. It does- he's right there with the best of them. Emma finally got a heads up about her work ethic; let's see how she handles it. Is she going to sulk and feel picked on? Magic 8 Ball says: definitely. 3 Link to comment

Something seemingly changed during covid and now all the BD shows seem much more focused on the cast than was the original show premise. I re-watched S1 not too long ago and it was eye opening how much it had changed. 3 1 Link to comment

We only got crew night out about every third or fourth episode. It was still about the crew, but more about how the crew was dealing with the guests than with each other. Now it's like they go out and get drunk every other night and the guests are just random extras. 7 2 Link to comment
