ribboninthesky1 October 18 Share October 18 1 hour ago, Snazzy Daisy said: Is that the real Michael Ealy? He looks different. 👀 Yeah....I couldn't tell if the show was using CGI on his face to emphasize he was a figment of Jax's imagination, or if the actor has had some work done in real life that hasn't, um, settled. In any case, that scene fell flat for me. Another misfired scene was Jax's absence during the Naima and Lewis conversation. Not sure why Jax and Naima have barely interacted this season. I just knew that JT's mom was going to kidnap the girls in retaliation for Shanell's freedom, and that would be the legal drama for the next season. I did appreciate Shanell cursing her out, nonetheless. I'm not sure how Lucy going to the judge without her boss' knowledge is supposed to help her keep her job, but okay. Link to comment
possibilities October 20 Share October 20 I liked that they showed the scene of Jamarion's death. All season they've hinted at it and let people draw their own conclusions and insert their own biases into what they think about culpabilityu and "how bad it really was" and so on. And then they showed us, so you can reflect on what your assumptions were and see if the reality changes what you feel and think. That choice really drives things home, i think, even more than showing it right in the beginning so everybody watching is spoonfed the info and doens't have to examine our assumptions. I don't understand how the baby's death could be their fault. Is she alleging that the stress they put her under caused the premature birth? That seems like quite a stretch. Link to comment
catsitter November 28 Share November 28 Just got to the end of this. Surely Natasha needs therapy urgently? And she was saving Shanelle's life by hitting JT over the head, so I don't think she would have been prosecuted if they had told the truth earlier on. Also, when Spenser and Naima find out about the baby (and they will, since their grandmother knows now), I should think they would be very upset with their parents for not letting them see him during his short life. It seemed at the end of this episode that they were wrapping up every single plot thread, many of which I doubt that anybody would have been worried about if they hadn't bothered, but then they put in that bit at the end to lead into a possible third season. I think they would have done better to start season 3 with a brand new case, set, say, a year on from this season, because the child actors grow up so fast and they will have grown even more by then.
