S47.E03: "Belly of the Beast" LIVE CHAT THREAD

Tensions run high as tribemates begin to get on each other’s last nerve at camp.  Three castaways go on a journey and make a big decision that will impact the game.  Then, in the challenge, tribes must climb their way to the top to earn a reward that will provide comfort at camp, as well as safety in the game.

This is the live chat thread.

Swapping things up by watching this and recording The Challenge. But as Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force would put it, “It don’t matter. None of this matters.”

ETA: Five unplayed idols is the official record, right?

I was thinking maybe Rome would be too arrogant to not play his idol, and everyone calls his bluff and votes for him anyway.  But I forgot his idol is only good for one tribal so he'll probably play it and think it's a huge move.

Oh hey, I forgot how satisfying TK's boot was last week.

So....what's stopping you from going fishing Sam?

Also, he has a good point about the bamboo.  I don't think there's anyway Anika will make that more comfortable.  But seriously this tribe seems lazy.

Wait, are they prioritizing a clothes line over other things?

Also, what is this episode?  Sam (a man) and Anika (a woman) going at it, and then Sue saying she's going to take revenge on Kyle and she has experience working in a male dominated field.

Okay, so we have someone else being bossy around camp and yet a tribe that doesn't seem motivated to do anything around camp.  Personally I don't even care to hear the others whine about not getting enough fish.  And I don't care to hear Rome talk about how awesome he is and that he's taunting Asyah by eating the fish in front of her.

All this talk about vegetables makes me regret ever wanting more footage of camp life.  Can we have a quadruple boot tonight and vote off multiple people?

So maybe it's me, but didn't Tiyanna flip on Kyle at the last vote?

Now Kyle is betraying Gabe by trying to tell Sue and Caroline that he considers them his goats in an effort to save Tiyanna.

This episode is making my head spin.  And now there's a boat showing up at each camp.  Must be time for the journey.

Andy needs a hair tie.

Sue is very annoying.  Like, let it go.  However, why would you think keeping two people who are tethered to each other is a good thing?  If they’re a bonded pair, you need to break that shit up.

My belly hates watermelon.  If I eat any I will burb up that taste hourly for days.  Cantaloupes too and cucumbers are the worst.  Gag

Sam and Rome deserve each other.  Kyle is really overplaying.

Andy thinks he's some genius, but looks like a goat.

I didn’t know SITD could be used by someone else.

I don’t think it can be, but if he lets someone else hold it, then he can’t use it himself.

It's not so she can use it. It's so she knows he won't.

Wow, these people aren't wasting any time throwing their tribe's dynamics under the bus.  Well, except Rome, who is subtly throwing Asyah and Sol (there's a Sol this season?) under the bus.

Kyle lost his vote.  He's not going to risk picking again and potentially lose two votes.

Anika lost her vote.  She's also sticking with her one lost vote.

And of course, because this season hates me, Rome get a steal-a-vote advantage.  And Rome has clearly never seen Survivor before, because if he had, he'd know that alliances have turned on their members when they have power like that.

Oh lord, can Rome’s ego get any bigger?

What's more humorous to me is that he thinks he actually has an alliance.  I think if anyone is aligned with him it's purely for strategic reasons on their part but have no real loyalty to him.  It's probably just to have him play his idol and then hopefully  blindside him into pre-jury Ponderosa with TK (between their two egos there may not be any room for Jon).

As big as the Pacific Ocean.

I hope this is foreshadowing of his rapid demise.

I was actually liking Sam a little last week but he can go.

And I guess everyone thought Sam and Sierra were a thing?

Kyle admits he lost his vote.  Anika lied and said she chose to save her vote.  But she thinks she's okay.  Rome also lies and said he lost his vote, although I guess he has better reason to lie.

Can Rome please go tonight?

I totally understand the sentiment, but I don't hate Rome. I've met enough Rome types in my life that I've become galvanized to their bullshit. Andy on the other hand...

for some reason I keep thinking Andy's name is Paul and I have no idea if there's even a Paul on Survivor

Challenge time!

Also, I still haven't gotten used to this 26 day format.  Episode 3 was usually going into day 9, since the episodes were 3-day cycles.

Let’s see how many can swim and jump.

Don't forget assemble a puzzle.  A seahorse one!  I admit that looks kind of cool.
