AnimeMania October 1 Share October 1 No Good Deed is a half-hour dark comedy with all 8 episodes streaming on December 12, 2024 on Netflix. No Good Deed is about a contractor, Paul Morgan, who wishes to pay off all his debts by selling his multi-million dollar house, a gorgeous 1920s Spanish-style villa located in one the most desirable neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Paul and his wife Lydia no longer need a large house since their daughter, Emily, is in college and their teenage son, Jacob, will soon be an adult. Listing the house with Greg from Raleigh Real Estate causes a frenzy among several interested parties, including neighbors, house flippers, and several families who believe this will become their dream home and fix all of their problems. Vying for the house brings out the worse in everybody and lowers their morals. Lydia and Paul learn, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a true nightmare, as they struggle to hide the dark and dangerous secrets that linger inside their longtime home as they realize that the only way they will escape the past is to finally face it. Linda Lavin as Phyllis, the Paul and Lydia Morgan’s over-involved neighbor, who is always a little too aware of the goings-on in the community. Ray Romano as Paul Morgan, a (constantly stressed and flat broke) contractor who is desperate to retire, is intent on paying off his debts and leaving L.A. He hopes that selling his beautiful home in Los Feliz, will solve his problems. But, his past mistakes will continue to haunt him. Lisa Kudrow as Lydia Morgan, Paul's devoted wife, a former concert pianist (highly-talented and highly-strung), who becomes distraught by the idea of selling her home, a place with joyful memories as well as dark secrets, a loving, though flawed, mother with two children. Chloe East as Emily Morgan, Paul and Lydia's artsy but put-together daughter. She's been away at college, but there may be other reasons she's been distant. Wyatt Aubrey as Jacob, Paul and Lydia's teenage son who has had some difficulties navigating adolescence. Matt Rogers as Greg, the gregarious, charming and slightly smug realtor handling the sale of the Morgan home. Greg is acutely aware of the gem he has on his hands and knows how to keep prospective buyers interested in this highly sought-after home. Linda Cardellini as Margo Starling, a perfectly-coiffed status seeker with buried secrets to spare, Margo knows how to get what she wants - and what she wants is the in-demand Morgan house so she can flip it for profit with her lover, a high-end developer, Gwen. Kate Moennig as Gwen, a (beautiful, sharp, and aloof) high-end developer and Margo’s potential business partner. Both believe the Morgan home which could prove to be a very lucrative investment. Teyonah Parris as Carla, a (high-achieving and somewhat sardonic) architect and expectant mother, hoping to buy the Morgan home. Carla and new husband, Dennis, are on the hunt for the perfect home for their expanding family. She falls hard for the Morgan house but the impending financial stress reveals some cracks in their new marriage. O-T Fagbenle as Dennis, Carla's husband, a (tirelessly upbeat, deeply anxious and overly appeasing) struggling writer, Dennis is in the market for a new family home for him and his wife, Carla, with their baby on the way. He's eager to play the role of supportive husband and father, while being caught in the middle of a tense relationship between his new wife and his overly invested mother, Denise. Anna Maria Horsford as Denise, Dennis’ overbearing mother. Loving, but highly-critical, Denise is just a little "too" involved in her son and daughter-in-law's house-hunting journey. Luke Wilson as JD Campbell, an out-of-work soap opera actor, JD has become depressed, desperate to land his next job, while also hoping to down-size his expenses by leaving his McMansion and buying the Morgan home, while hoping he can still maintain his lavish lifestyle and his marriage to his demanding wife. Abbi Jacobson as Leslie Fisher, clever, curious and competitive to a fault, Leslie is thrilled to discover that the Los Feliz home she and her wife have admired from afar has finally come on the market. Poppy Liu as Sarah, Leslie's wife, soulful, grounded and uncompromisingly decent, Sarah often serves as a much-needed moral compass to wife Leslie, although she's not without some secrets of her own. Leslie is intrigued when the Morgan house comes on the market, but has some deep reservations. Denis Leary as Mikey, an intense ex-con whose debts have driven him to desperate measures, he is in a dark hole after a terrible accident derailed his sobriety and pulled him away from his family. Kevin Alves as Nate, Mikey's strait-laced, hard-edged son, he has a strained relationship with his ex-con father. Link to comment
Bastet October 11 Share October 11 That trailer didn't do a ton to get me interested, but I like the cast and I absolutely loved Dead to Me, so I'll definitely give this a look. Link to comment
