ottoDbusdriver September 5 Share September 5 In a surprise to no one except the Ark 1 crew, the Ark 8 clones decide to gas everyone and takeover the ship due to incredibly lax medbay security. How the Ark 8 clones aren't being watched like hawks let alone seem to have free run of the ship I have no idea ? The lead Ark 8 clone keeps talking about going to their 'new planet', but never actually mentions what planet that is. And the lead Ark 8 clone also confirms that he blew up Ark 8 and framed Ian. Kelly goes full on terminator mode when Garnet activates her implants, but then overuse of the implants nearly kills her. Brice confesses he was on a classified lunar mission so he couldn't tell anyone about it so that ends Kimi's hunt, but Spencer punches Brice anyway because his dad died because of Brice's decision during the mission. William Trust gets promoted to Head of Engineering since Eva is still locked up -- Trust keeps complaining about his request for a bathtub. Brice and Eva make up. Angus shares the potato vodka with the bridge crew. And the cliffhanger at the end of this episode is that the Eastern Federation ship drops out of FTL and points their BFG at Ark 1. Link to comment
tv echo September 6 Share September 6 (edited) I liked this episode overall. I liked how smart and quick-thinking Sharon was, in activating Kelly's implants even while she was falling unconscious, and later in tricking the Ark 8 leader, Milos, by punching in the lockdown codes instead of the command codes. I also liked how the other Ark 1 crew members who were awakened used their smarts and knowledge of the ship to fight back. I also liked that they cleared up the Brice mystery quickly. I also liked the EF cliffhanger ending that set up the next episode (although it reminded me of the ending mid-credits scene of Thor: Ragnorak). However, I didn't quite buy that all of the Ark 8 clones (except for Ian) were willing to kill the non-clone members of Ark 1 after they reached their destination planet. I can see Milos and maybe a few others being that way (apparently due to PTSD and anger over their suffering at the hands of nonclones). But all of them (except for Ian)? I also didn't like how the show is now pushing a friendship between Alicia and Kelly (who tried to kill Angus, in case we forget!), but I've resigned myself to Kelly's redemption arc and her being the Seven of Nine of Ark 1. I think a bigger twist would've been if it was revealed that the Ark 8 clones who were rescued were actually the murderous Gen 3 while the clones who were blown up on the planet were the more stable Gen 2. On a side note, Angus losing his glasses and becoming tougher reminds me of Daniel's evolution over the course of the Stargate SG-1 series. Oh, by the way, Sharon making Trust head of engineering is not going to end well. Edited September 7 by tv echo 1 Link to comment
NeenerNeener September 8 Share September 8 I'm waiting for the love triangle between Sharon, Spence and Ian. Wacky hijinks could ensue! 1 Link to comment
KeithJ September 14 Share September 14 I have a very hard time believing the little bit of powder from the pills the clones stole was enough to permeate the entire ship (leaving dust clouds) and was still strong enough to incapacitate the entire crew. Link to comment
NeenerNeener September 29 Share September 29 So what did the crew did with the mutineer clones? If it was mentioned during the last few minutes of the show before they saw the Eastern Federation ship I must have missed it. And having watched all of the Orphan Black spinoff, why are they still cloning people for organs instead of 3-d printing replacement organs on demand in this particular alternate universe? NeenerNeener October 1 Share October 1 (edited) 11 hours ago, KaveDweller said: Wait, there was a spinoff to Orphan Black? Yeah, called Orphan Black: Echoes. It ran on AMC in Aug/Sept, starred Kristen Ritter and Keely Hawes, and just generally sucked. The premise was cloning was outlawed so Keely Hawes, who was supposed to be grown-up Kira Manning, invented a way to 3-D print whole people when her wife developed dementia. Tatiana Maslany stayed far away from it but Jordan Gavaris popped up a few times in old man makeup as Felix. Evelyne Brochu popped in too. ETA: there won't be a second season.
