The Day of the Jackal is a 10 episode TV Series streaming the first 5 episodes on November 14, 2024 on Peacock in the US, then an episode each week, concluding with a 2 episode finale. The TV Series will stream on November 7 or 8, 2024 on Sky in the UK. The Day of the Jackal is based on the 1971 novel of the same name by Frederick Forsyth, about an assassin hired to kill the President of France in 1963. Several movies have been made from the book, the 1973 "The Day of the Jackal", the 1988 film “August 1”, the 1997 movie “The Jackal” starring Bruce Willis, Richard Gere, and Sidney Poitier, and the 2023 homage "The Killer". Although the book was set in 1963, the TV Series is set in the present day.
