S26.E04: Power of Veto #1

🍿🍿🍿the epic meltdown was worth every minute. And it was all because he didn’t hug her after the HoH ceremony! She completely twisted what Matt said in his pitch to her. She completely twisted the integrity of the Collective that she’s a part of. So paranoid and excellent tv. Wow, Angela is coocoocatchoo! She definitely needs to be the center of attention. I expect if you hung out with her, she’d monopolize every conversation and if you had a chance to speak, she won’t believe a word you say anyway so why waste your breath. I have to find opportunities to use “your words are shit to me, you can put them back in your ass”. That’s legendary.

Her drama is so mean spirited.

Yes, she body shamed him when she kept calling him crazy eyes and insulted his mom by saying she raised a brat. See y’all tomorrow for eviction 1.

I bet her family is embarrassed. To attack him like that was just ridiculous.

She badly let her paranoia get to her, in all the wrong ways.

Nooooo!  She is THE perfect BB Houseguest.  Totally paranoid and batshit crazy!  Great entertainment.

And the paranoia about her own alliance was just icing on the cake.

And Matt is the typical BB Houseguest too in that he is dumb like a brick and has the ego and the sexy sleaze vibes going.  But of course Groden will try to save him like she does all dimwitted alpha males.

Poor Angela!  Apparently she hasn't kept up and learned that "brat" is now (allegedly) a compliment.

I do want to thank The Collective for breaking new ground.  I believe this is the first time an alliance has been named after a part of speech.  I can't wait for next season's power alliance, The Comparative, whose essential raison d'être will be "Well, at least we're better than The Collective."

Quote

CAM: [The Collective] is a good blend of people that you would not suspect me of working with.

Er, Cam…you have just allied (or "allied") with every obviously-black person in the House.  (I believe Brooklyn mentioned being mixed in her intro.)

I'm not saying that this is Cookout 2.0, and I'm not saying that Kyle is in the house suspecting that of going on.  But to say that people would never even consider that you might have an alliance with Cedric and/or Chelsie and/or T'Kor is perhaps making one assumption too many. JMO.

Nice to see the spelling comp return, and I'm rather shocked to realize they've never done a "bee" theme before.  Love the cancellation idea, too.

If I had been in the House, I would like to think that my response to Angela's meltdown would be "Welcome to BIIIIIIG Brother!", in my best Clayton (Announcer Guy) voice.  Of course, I don't know how clever I could actually be, in the moment, alas.

I would have been a replacement nominee FOR SURE because there is no way I could have just sat there and let her demean him like that for no reason.

Uncomfortably dying inside is not entertaining.  Like did she for one second think what she would do if someone talked to one of her kids like that?  Her getting the boot sooner than later would be ideal kthanx.

I think, at her core, that Angela is probably a nice, sweet person outside of the BB House.  But the paranoia caused by this game has hit her harder than I've ever seen it hit any houseguest.  And the fact that it's hit her so early . . . eesh.

It might do her some good to get evicted early.  But at the same time, her brand of crazy would be painful to lose so soon.

Okay I think now we can officially declare the season has started because things are actually cooking now.

Can you imagine being Angela' family sitting at home watching as she self-immolates her own game? They must be cringing.

Who does that? Acting like a loon and managing to cancel yourself out of one of those "half the house" alliances? Does she have no concept that only winning a veto next week could save her now?

Who ever said in another thread she was going to get "Frenchied" was spot on. This could easily go from "The Best Summer ever!" to the shortest summer ever for her.

Honestly I think her obsession is some cougar like attraction for Matt but she knows that's impossible and is jealous seeing him with MJ. Just a  theory.

Producers will be working overtime to sway the houseguests to evict Kemo because they won't want to loose their Angela vs Matt storyline after a single episode.

Dollar Store Freddie Mercury with the pornstache had the line of the evening about "This ought to make the episode".

In other news Lisa's hair looked great in the DR where the two strands were hanging down. She should stick with it. Plus I like how hard core she was when Angela was bawling and making it all about HER with the nominees but Lisa wasn't having any of it...no fake "I understand". Just stone cold. Loved it.

Its early but I'm getting a vibe T'Kor will always just be a supporting character and never emerge as a mover and a shaker in the game.

I find it weird that Brooklyn so far doesn't appear to have any connections and alliances. Perhaps being married keeps the alpha males from sniffing around her.

And finally, if I didn't already not care for Hunter that obnoxious JJ Evans "Kid Dynomite" hat makes me despise him. That is all.

Angela is one wacky mess of narcissism and paranoia all wrapped up in a mom disguise.  I am not a hugger and would clearly be on her hit list.  It irked me that she used the word "traumatized" to describe her feelings after the discussion with Matt.  Way to play the victim!

I have little sympathy for victim #2 (Matt) with all his wailing and crying.  I would have had some if he'd just reacted like he'd been attacked by a crazy person instead of boohooing.  All he needed to do was raise his eyebrows and say "Sure, Jan."  The whole comfort me tour was annoying.

Lisa doesn't seem like an actual human, just a collection of hot topic accessories and edible glitter.

Loved Joseph saying "That will make the broadcast" after Angela's tirade.  (At least I think it was Joseph.  Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.  I promise I won't be traumatized and I won't make you hug me.)

I think Angela is a nice person only when things are going her way. I can very much imagine her creating a scene at a store or restaurant if she thinks the employees have done her wrong.

Yes! Angela as the ultimate " Karen" having an epic meltdown over a parking space, or kids selling lemonade, or having to wait in line. Find any Karen video and think about substituting angela.

That was the very definition of cringe comedy. Not even Frenchie melted that hard, or that fast.

Loved Angela positioning herself as the victim who needed hugs and comfort after putting three other people on the block. That must have been so hard for her. Reveled in her punching at the ceiling in glee as she rehearsed her diabolical plan of revenge. And the melted icing on her 3-tier crackup cake was Chelsie and Quinn's confused faces as they struggled to process how the hell they got brought into this. Somewhere, Felicia is chewing on a mustard seed and thinking, "Damn, I thought I was paranoid!"

Angela needs to stick around for the hot mess of it all.  And I, for one, cannot wait to see how she reacts when it's her turn on the block. (Spoiler: it won't be pretty.)

I haven't really cared about the wacky room designs but the overhead shot of the kitchen table is giving me seizures.

I'm so sick of the stupid alliance names. Everyone gets so damn jazzed about giving their stupid alliances names. It's cheezy and dumb and they seem to think the audience just eats it up.

Taylor's Law: The HG that is picked on early in the season and cries goes on to win America's Favorite player. Matt caught that cash tonight for Finale night.

Joseph unbothered saying "I think that'll make the episode" made me laugh so hard my dog got worried for me. 😂

For the time being, he became my favorite in the House based on that remark alone.  😆

THIS is why I always love the early season episodes of this show!  There's always someone who goes absolutely crazy in the first week.  Sometimes it's because they feel claustrophobic, being in a house with a bunch of strangers and cameras everywhere.  Sometimes it's because of hubris, where they think they can outsmart and outplay everyone in the house, and they make all these ridiculous "moves" that only ticks everyone else off.  And then, we get these players like Angela who get so paranoid that they can't eat, they can't sleep. they can't do anything but find tiny, inconsequential things to somehow tie together into a big conspiracy.

The producers did a great job showing just how Angela spiraled out of control.  She was correct that Matt made a huge blunder when he seemed to say that putting him up for eviction would be a mistake for the HoH.  But then, after he didn't hug her, she turned that into an "aggressive, threatening" verbal attack on her.  Then, the hours of her watching the TV monitor in the HoH room, assuming that Matt was putting together his "army" to come after her, when it was just a random collection contestants sitting around chatting and eating.

Her "clearing the air" speech was a classic!  I just wish she had further called out The Collective and named names; that would have been the cherry on top.  I hope Matt stays in the house this week; he seems like a decent guy.  I expect Angela won't be around as long as Frenchie was last season.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she gets nominated next week and self-evicts.

Best episode of BB in a LONG time! LOL

LMAO when everyone started clapping at first!  That show was GOLD!  I started thinking that BB was punking everyone. With the insults she was hurling, I can't believe she is usually a nice person acting out of character due to.stress. Maybe she is menopausal.

I do enjoy a beautifully executed BB fight like anyone else, but I prefer mine to be cleverly spontaneous (Ragan vs. Rachel Reilly, Rockstar's daughter's birthday, etc).  Angela's over-rehearsed one-woman monologue had me cringing so hard I pulled a muscle.  I feel like while she stood there like a deranged Juliette on her balcony, she was positively giddy to unleash her craft upon her unsuspecting audience.  I suppose most of them were in pure shock, but how they all kept a straight face is beyond me.

"For all of my wonderful visitors who came to see me last night? (...pause...) Your performance was great.  GREAT!  It was absolutely great.............(pause, make sure all eyes are on me...wait...wait for it...and NOW) for a low-budget movie!!"  (BURN!  BURN!!! hahahahaha) Crazy Eyes!  CRAZY eyes!  crazy EYES!!  CrAzY eYeS!!"

She's so over the top, she's practically back where she started from.

Is everybody talking about Frenchie from season 23?  Can someone please recap his meltdown? I can't find it online.

I'd agree . . . if I knew what a "Karen" even was.

This episode was crazy. I was caught off guard while watching, but if I'd been there I think I would have said "I want to hear him!" each time Angela stopped Matt from talking.
