Based on the Edgar Award-winning book series, Murder in a Small Town follows Karl Alberg (Rossif Sutherland), who moves to a quiet coastal town to soothe a psyche that has been battered by big-city police work. But this gentle paradise has more than its share of secrets, and Karl will need to call upon all the skills that made him a world-class detective in solving the murders that continue to wash up on his shore.

Kristin Kreuk stars as Cassandra, a local librarian who becomes Alberg’s muse, foil, and romantic interest.

RELEASE DATE: Coming to FOX this fall.

• Mya Lowe as Corporal Edwina Yen - another cop who’s new to town. She’s smart, sophisticated and ambitious, and feels she’s destined for bigger things than this sleepy small-town assignment.
• Savonna Spracklin as Isabella Harbud - the police station’s civilian receptionist. She’s an Indigenous American who has a dry sense of humor and mixed feelings about working for the police. 
• Aaron Douglas as Sergeant Sid Sokolowski - Alberg’s devoted second-in-command. 
• Fritzy-Klevans Destine as Constable Andy Kendrick - a young cop who gets on everyone’s nerves, but Alberg sees his potential.
• James Cromwell as George Wilcox - a retired history teacher grieving the recent loss of his beloved wife. He’s a pillar of the community, but he has a secret.
• Stana Katic as Zoe Strachan - Zoe Strachan is a beautiful woman who mostly keeps to herself. Her cool exterior hides an explosive temper.

Murder in a Small Town is airing on FOX at 9pm. It is most likely 9 episodes (I have episode titles for 9 episodes with episode 1 and 2 being a two-parter), although I am also hearing it might be 8 episodes.

Rossif Sutherland as Karl Alberg, a burned-out big city detective who moves to a quiet coastal town.  

Kristin Kreuk as Cassandra Mitchell, the town librarian 

Paula Patton as Dr. Elizabeth Lewis, a brilliant and successful psychiatrist who arrives at the Gibsons Police Station offering insights that can help Karl Alberg apprehend a dangerous fugitive murderer (one of Lewis’ former patients) who is believed to be hiding in the area.

Episode 1 will air on September 24, 2024 and be a special 90 minute "double" episode starting at 8pm.

Episode 2 will air on October 1, 2024 at 8pm (time changed from 9pm, so as not to compete with the vice presidential debate between Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), hosted by CBS News).

Episode 3 will air on October 8, 2024 at 9pm (the show's regularly scheduled time).

Actually, the Futon Critic is saying it’s the season finale. It’s a Canadian show and Wikipedia says there’s only 6 episodes in the first season. ETA: Though Futon Critic has it as 8 episodes

Yes, November 26, 2024 will be the season finale. The season is 8 or 9 episodes depending on if you count the first double episode as one or two episodes.
