SoMuchTV May 9 Share May 9 Starting a separate thread for Season 2. On 4/24/2024 at 2:07 PM, aghst said: First 3 episodes of season 2 are available now. No reviews. May take me awhile to get through these, between other shows and NBA Playoffs. Link to comment
ms gilly May 25 Share May 25 For those who weren’t sure about continuing during or after season 1, the show does move forward better and faster in season 2, I think. And it does begin to reveal backstories that help tie things together. 1 Link to comment
aghst June 4 Share June 4 My biggest issue with this show is that these people are making changes in their lives because of the Morpho without really questioning its provenance, who's behind it, etc. We talk today so much about how technology is invasive of our privacy, how as addicted as we are to phones and social media, we are aware that we may be giving up too much to keep using these products and services. Yet not one person is questioning how the Morpho knows such specific things about these people to give them a kind of psychiatric or oracular guidance about making certain big decisions in their lives or enabling them in some self-discoveries. Through 8 episodes of this second season, the characters are just going along with things, making certain changes, but not examining why it took this machine, which is like a high-tech Magic 8 Ball, a parlor game which people could be entertained by, for them to re-examine their lives, make changes. Maybe in the finale, probably episode 10, they will drop hints about who put the machine there, who's running it, what possible motive they could have for what is really kind of a psychological manipulation. Sure maybe these characters lives are better for their interactions with the Morpho, at least for now. But are mysterious machines always going to be beneficial or even just benign? 2 Link to comment
aghst June 13 Share June 13 Season 2 is over. The mystery of the Morpho only grows, because they don't even begin to tackle who's behind it. Instead, these characters don't act normal at all. Hana has spots on her back, the same blue color as the Morpho. I don't recall if anyone made that connection but she goes around in backless clothes showing off those spots. Most people, even men would be trying to hide them, maybe even go see a doctor about them, since they don't look too natural. Hell maybe even look into getting cosmetic surgery to remove them. Everyone is just making life decisions on a whim like the immediate wedding for Sergio and what's her name. BTW, that little town can sustain a door to door meatball delivery service? A small town like that couldn't even have food delivery apps, though is it suppose to be like 40 years ago? Rusty gets pissed because his wife Cassie isn't happy with him. He notices everyone is just making crazy decisions because of the Morpho so instead of questioning its nature or who's behind it, he goes to see if it will give him more answer? Like go to the next stage and he's looking for more crude computer graphics visions of his life? With the cliffhanger ending, maybe people will start to wonder who's behind it,, like the same person who sent Hana that recording of her father and her when she was a child. Link to comment

Was it supposed to be like 40 years ago? I didn't pick up on that. I'm trying to remember if anyone was using a phone but I can't now. Morpho must have wiped my brain. The cars did look pretty old but that seemed in character for who was driving them, the best I can remember. Link to comment
aghst June 13 Share June 13 You don't see anyone using technology like smart phones. But the graphics on that Morpho look like very old video games graphics, all 2D sprites. But the animation of the butterfly would take much more modern displays. Link to comment
