I want my point, dammit. What a revoltin' week of picks I has.

Hey, we both picked the Eagles - points are well deserved.

So Week 6 has come and gone but this week everyone did really well with their picks. Almost everyone had 11 or more of the picks correct, out of 15 total games. Also, as I mentioned before, everyone got a point for the Bengals/Panthers tie.

This week, the Master of Picks was ebk57, who rightfully earned the golden halo by getting 14 out of 15 picks right. The only one ebk57 got wrong? - the Cowboys/Seattle game. In fact, NO ONE picked the Cowboys to win - go figure. ExplainItAgain was next best with 13 correct.

Overall, it's a three way tie between AimingforYoko, Popples and ExplainItAgain. That's okay though - some of us are catching up!!

Week 6 Leaderboard

AimingforYoko          51
Popples                        51

11 out of first place.   My only hope to win this thing is the Apocalypse.   Oh well, maybe there will be a consolation prize for witty commentary.    Yeah right.

Gah! I actually did rather well with my picks last week, was hoping to move up in the standings. Too bad so many people did better than me.....congratulations though, those were some awesome picks!

I'm always talking about this to my husband who does not follow football and he decided he wanted to have a competition with me this week. He'll make his picks and I'll make mine. I'm sure he will do better than I will.

Anyway, doesn't much matter. This is my first time participating in something like this and I am enjoying it! I'll get my picks in tomorrow!

Good question, KoB, I'll have to talk to the Powers that Be and find out. I'm just a lowly moderating minion so have no say in the matter. I'll let everyone know once I get an answer.

Are you looking for more incentive to try and get perfect on your picks!! I though plotting our destruction was enough! *grin*

Thursday October 16th
New York Jets @ New England Patriots  Yeah not expecting any Cowboys-Seahawks type upsets here.   Brady isn't even on the (fake) injury list.

Sunday October 19th
Atlanta Falcons @ Baltimore Ravens  Ravens be rollin', Falcons be dying.
Minnesota Vikings @ Buffalo Bills   Old hat for Orton beating the Vikings.
Miami Dolphins @ Chicago Bears   Da Bears have troubles, but not Dolphin sized troubles.   Philbin does not know how to coach.
New Orleans Saints @ Detroit Lions  Only because Calvin be hurt.
Carolina Panthers @ Green Bay Packers
Cincinnati Bengals @ Indianapolis Colts  Bengals are good, but Luck be a QB.
Cleveland Browns @ Jacksonville Jaguars   the hahhahahahaha game of the week.
Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams
Tennessee Titans @ Washington Redskins
Kansas City Chiefs @ San Diego Chargers
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys   I want to believe.
Arizona Cardinals @ Oakland Raiders   No really the hahahahahahaha game of the week.
San Francisco 49ers @ Denver Broncos   Peyton breaks a record.   The only question is does he do in the first or second half.

Monday October 20th
Houston Texans @ Pittsburgh Steelers   Something is very wrong in Steeler nation, it begins with a Todd and ends with a Haley.

My goal is to go from 13th place (last) to 12th place by the end of the season. (I know- reach for the stars right?) But I figure in order to do that I need to take a few chances to gain some extra points. As of now, I think 1 person (other than me) picked the Panthers over the Packers. The Bengals @ Colts game could go either way- just depends on which team screws up first. I hate the Bengals, it pains me to pick them, but more ppl picked the Colts and Andy Dalton picks his nose. This little idea of mine could also backfire and bite me in the ass. Sadly, I can't pick against my Steelers- which may keep me in 13th place forever.

Aw ebk57, I hope you feel better. I hate sick too. Curl up on the couch with some (legal) drugs and tea and football today and recover.

anarchyangel84 - there were some weeks where people only got 6 picks right (like me) out of 15 or 16. So your idea is a good one. If everyone had a bad week, if you pick differently, you could catch up by 9 or 10 points a week. It's definately doable. And don't forget the playoffs. One upset pick could make a huge difference in catching up! At least I'm hoping for myself!!

EllieH - re: picking the Cowboys. Okay, they have to lose one week, right? They can't keep winning forever. And the Giants are going to retaliate from that brutal loss last week. Right? Right? <Still haven't decided which to pick - ugh>

Alrighty everyone - Good luck tonight. The commentators are predicting a Jets upset though...

HalcyonDays  Will there be special PTV swag if some lucky person guesses 15/15 in a week?

So the Big Cheese has responded and is offering whoever gets perfect picks, a nice shiny new PTV T-Shirt made especially for you. There are different sizes (small to 2XL and I think bigger), certain colours you can pick, and men and woman's cuts, depending on your preferences.

If one of you gets perfect picks and would like the T, you will have to PM me your name and address so it can be mailed to your home address. The cotton is really nice, BTW. Like, really soft.

Note to PTV: Everybody here picked the Patriots. We're all 1 for 1 (aka perfect score.)  Looking forward to expanding my wardrobe. It better be real soft cotton.

Ha ha. Nice try, dude! Perfect is all of your picks. But that was a CLOSE game, I tell you. The Patriots are not invincible.

Well that really didn't work.

From now on, I'm just going to pick who I think's gonna win. I'm having fun trying to guess so if I would finish last, that's ok.

How about them Rams? With upsets like that, none of us are going to get a shirt.

I picked the Panthers (I always will) but I didn't really expect them to win against Green Bay so I'm not surprised at the outcome. However the refs kicking out Kueckly in the 3rd quarter was a BS call if I've ever seen one!

Yeah, and I was one of two who picked the Jags last week. Dammit. And I was even thinking of picking the Rams this week too.

The Cowboys have won six - SIX in a row. The hell? There is something wrong with the football universe. I still want to be stubborn and not pick them.

Well, Week 7 is over and many upsets this week. The Jaguars won. The Rams won. The Bengals were shutout. Green Bay and the Broncos are killing everyone. And the Cowboys now have the best record in the NFL with 6-1. The Football universe has gone wacky.

The golden halo goes once again to ExplainItAgain for getting 11 picks correct this week. AimingforYoko was next with 10 correct and were the only two people who broke 10. Everyone else ranged from 7-9, while of course *I* did the absolutely worst with only 4 correct.

For the standings, ExplainItAgain leads only by ONE point over AimingForYoko, with Popples close behind by only one. Close race!

Week 7 Standings

ExplainItAgain                   62

Thursday, October 23rd
San Diego Chargers @ Denver Broncos  Little worried about the short week for Peyton and the letdown after breaking the record.   But it's a short week for Chargers too.

Sunday, October 26th
Detroit Lions @ Atlanta Falcons  Worried about the Lions being affected by jet lag, but the voodoo Romo used to suck up Ryan's ability is clearly still working.
Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
Seattle Seahawks @ Carolina Panthers
Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals   Ravens keep rollin' rollin' rollin.    Cutting Ray Rice actually helped them.
Miami Dolphins @Jacksonville Jaguars  oh good lord.   Do I really got to pick one here?
St. Louis Rams @ Kansas City Chiefs
Chicago Bears @ New England Patriots
Minnesota Vikings @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers  hahahahahahahahaha.   Can I pick both to lose?   They gotta win sometime.  And it's not like I have first place to protect.
Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans   Titans are doing the "they will both get reps in practice" thang.   That never works.   It only means they both aren't prepared.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Arizona Cardinals   Not really but the Eagles have to lose so the Cowboys can be alone in first place.
Oakland Raiders @ Cleveland Browns Have to win sometime and Carr is coming on.   It might be Manziel time in Cleveland after that mess last week.
Indianapolis Colts @ Pittsburgh Steelers   Colts are a  more complete team right now, even if the Steelers did finally win.
Green Bay Packers @ New Orleans Saints

Monday, October 27th
Washington Redskins @Dallas Cowboys   Don't got breaking my heart.
