Heh! Looks like only one person picked the Vikings to win tonight (so far). Is this a sign that we are all going to have crappy weeks again?

I'm torn because since the Viking just fired their coach, they are going into the game head coachless and with even more drama and turmoil surrounding them. However, the last time they had that drama, they won - by a big margin. Also, they may be feeling all panicky now (staff and players) and are going to try to play really well to compensate for fear of job loss. So I don't know....

I was listening to Drew Bledsoe on Colin Cowherds show yesterday and they were saying how almost every time a team fires their head coach they end up winning the next game so you may very well be right. Of course they were discussing this in relation to the Raiders head coach firing and then realized they had a bye this week. Will be interesting either way :)

Ah damn  - the RAIDERS fired their head coach this week, not the Vikings. I always get those two teams mixed up for some reason. Raiders = Vikings for some reason in my head. Okay, so then the Vikings will most likely lose since Zimmer is still their head coach...

Thanks for setting me straight, Mountainair. Sorry for the misleading info. *shrugs*. And we are still like 11 games from Black Monday.

ETA: yeah King of Birds - I meant the Raiders. Sorry.

What? You must mean the Raiders, but I don't see what that means to a Vikings/ Packers game.

ETA: Oh I see, you were just confusing the two. (Raiders= Vikings?  What kind of terrible connection that is)

I was gonna pick the Vikings to upset, but it really does seem like Bridgewater won't be playing tonight, and I don't have any faith in Christian Ponder.

I know! It's the logo and the name. Vikings are Raiders of the land?? I don't know, I just know I confuse them for some reason. They don't have the same team colours or logo, but for some reason, I mix em up.

I'll shut up now and simply wait for Popples's and shoregirls picks. Last ones.

Well...I was thisclose to changing my pick tonight to the Vikings earlier tonight. Glad I didn't cave in.

3rd quarter, 3:42 minutes left. The score? 42-0 for the Packers. Just wow. Wow. What is it with these Thursday blowout games?

I'm pretty sure I crashed and burned on my picks this week!  Its probably the end of my brief foray into being really lucky at picking winners.  Or were there just a ton of weird games?

Holy Hell, the coin flip actually had me picking the Browns beating the Titans.   Too bad it was so very wrong on all the other games.

It has just been one weird season.   Let's just call a mulligan on it and move right to 2015.

This was the week of comebacks.

Tampa Bay leading until almost the very end of the 4th, and then boom, here come the Saints.

The Lions were leading with 14 points around the half, and they ended up losing 17-14.

The Panthers made a comeback (yeah!), and I think the Browns too!

At least my Eagles won! Yes!

I'm a Bills comeback away from a perfect record (so far). Stupid Bills.

Yoko, your picks this week are amazing    /*dammit*/.

58 yard field goal, man. 58 yard field goal...

Man, what a week. Half of the teams that we expected to win lost miserably, and those "elite" teams apparently decided to show up and play like the used to. On top of that, with the Arizona Cardinals and the Cinncinati Bengals both losing this week, there are no more undefeated teams.

A lot of high scores this time around. The Master of Picks this week was AimingforYoko, who got 13 out of 15 picks right and is now in the lead overall. Popples and ExplainItAgain also picked 12 out of 15 correct and P2C2E and anarchyangel84 were only one behind them with 11 correct.  And only two people actually picked the Buffalo Bills to win - wingster55 and Mountainair.

The Leaderboard as of Week 5:

AimingforYoko =                  40
Popples =                               39
ExplainItAgain =                   38
KingOfBirds =                        37
EllieH  =                                  35
ebk57  =                                 35
Mountainair  =                      30
HalcyonDays =                     30
merylinkid =                          28
P2C2E =                                  28
shoregirl =                             27
wingster55 =                         21
anarchyangel84 =                16

Here are your picks for Week 6:

Thursday October 9th
Indianapolis Colts  @ Houston Texans

Sunday October 12th
Chicago Bears  @ Atlanta Falcons
New England Patriots  @ Buffalo Bills
Carolina Panthers  @ Cincinnati Bengals
Pittsburgh Steelers  @Cleveland Browns

Jacksonville Jaguars  @ Tennessee Titans
San Diego Chargers  @ Oakland Raiders
Washington Redskins  @ Arizona Cardinals

Bye week: Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints

It was like the usual suspects won in most cases. Like, I expect the teams like the Patriots, the Steelers, the Broncos to win, but stopped picking them because of their horrible starts. Of course, week 5 is when they decided to show up.

EllieH falls to the middle! The golden halo is no more!

Better watch it, King of Birds. Tease EllieH, and karma may bite you in the butt with your picks. *muhaha*

The golden halo just got transferred to AimingforYoko!

This season is cray-cray! Every team seems average!

Yeah they do. This is a league that at the end of week 5, the best records are the Eagles, the Cowboys and the Chargers (4-1). The Cowboys....?!?

On top of that, the crappy teams have to win at some point and its always against a really good team. The Jags need to win...at some point.

No coin flip this week.   You get commentary instead.   Bwahahahahahahahaha.

Thursday October 9th
Indianapolis Colts  @ Houston Texans   Hey look it's the battle of the Ivies.   But I think Luck has his team more together than Fitzpatrick.   But watch out for J.J. Waaaatttt.

Sunday October 12th
Chicago Bears  @ Atlanta Falcons   Oh who shall disappoint me more this day.   I see both trying to give this game away.  Changed my mind (12:52 p.m. on Thursday 10/9).   Falcons might just have the edge because Hester wants revenge.   But I may regret.
New England Patriots  @ Buffalo Bills    Brady got his mojo back.   There is a reason Orton is on his 5th team.  ( I can only remember Bears, Broncos, Cowboys, Bills, who am I missing?)
Carolina Panthers  @ Cincinnati Bengals
Pittsburgh Steelers  @Cleveland Browns  Everytime Hoyer hears Manziel's breath on his neck, he goes out and wins the game.  The Steelers got smelted this year.
Green Bay Packers  @ Miami Dolphins   Do I gotta explain this one?
Detroit Lions  @ Minnesota Vikings   Wishful thinking probably.   But Bridgewater may not be 100%
Denver Broncos  @ New York Jets   The only question is whether or not Peyton breaks Macro Douche's record this game or gets pulled in the 3rd qtr.
Baltimore Ravens  @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers   Take a nap during this one, it's a given.
Jacksonville Jaguars  @ Tennessee Titans  Jags got to win one sometime.
San Diego Chargers  @ Oakland Raiders    Bwhahahahahahahahaha.
Washington Redskins  @ Arizona Cardinals   Especially if Stanton is back.
Dallas Cowboys  @ Seattle Seahawks   And so the decent to mediocrity begins.
New York Giants  @ Philadelphia Eagles   No TD in a few games means the Eagles crash land against the surging Jints.

Am I the only fool that picked the Tampa Bay Buccaneers...apparently so. They've got to win sometime!!!

Yes, yes I would be the only one who was fool enough to pick the Texans. So much for $100 million dollar Watt. /*so depressed*/ Oh wait, EllieH and King of Birds did the same!

ETA: (timestamp 11:04 pm) My apologies Mr. Watt. You are the $100 million dollar man! Touchdown!

Those damn Colts deserved to lose letting the Texans come back that close. But they squeezed out the win. Oh & how about J.J. Watt? He gets more and more ridiculous every week. He HAS TO HAVE a flaw & I wanna know what it is. He is human after all. Or is he?

Why, WHY.......The worst part is that everytime this season, whenever there is a case like this - a team who just has to get that touchdown to win or at least tie it up - that team always, always ends up throwing an interception or a fumble recovery. After that, the other team simply has to take a knee.

At least is was close. Damn you, Colts.

I just realized I picked the Jets over the Broncos. Either it was an accident or I was being a dumbass that day. Either one's possible. I need to pay more attention while I'm picking. Ugh. I thought that maybe Peyton would beat Favre's record this week but he's at 15 for the season. He needs 2 to tie, 3 to beat the record. (For career passing touchdowns)

Ugh - Tampa Bay. How could you...Congratulations to everybody else who was smart enough to pick the Ravens. *sigh*

At least the Steelers lost! Excellent.

And for the Bengals/Panthers game that ended in a tie, everyone gets a point. Because technically a tie is better than a loss for those teams and counts as something in the standings.

A 6 hour drive turned into 8 for me today so I had to listen to the Panthers game on the radio. It was great! Normally listening to games on the radio I find my mind wandering but this game kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time!

I was wondering how the tie would work out for our points here. I like the everybody gets a point system. If that's the case this is actually the best week I've had so far in regards to my picks!
