Hannah seems like she's having a somewhat normal life, no production crew, cameras following them around & vacations just to film. Now that she's with her dad will she attend the same school as before, with the others? Wonder how they will treat her? Kudos to her for being the brave one & establish/mend relationships that her mom had all but severed.

I wish Jon would sue his ex bitch for alienation of affection. You just know she has bad mouthed him to those kids for years and destroyed any relationship they may have had.

I wonder if Hannah has any relationship with her brothers and sisters other than Colin.  I would imagine that as soon as Hannah left to live with Jon, Kate put a big scare into the rest of the kids. I can totally see her threatening the other kids if they have anything to do with Jon and Hannah.

I'm no lawyer but I think he'd have a good case against her.  Then, I hope all of the kids get together and sue her for every penny they've earned since the show started.   out

How old are the twins now?

Hannah has been answering questions on social media, and she said her brothers were with her one of the times. I'm not sure if Jon still get them for visitation. He used to get Joel, Aaden, and Leah. She confirmed she was staying with Jon and that Colin would be living there. I think these chats are temporary and don't stay on the internet. I hope Kate does get sued. But I don't think the kids will ever be united. Some she'll estrange. Some she brainwashed.  She seems to be filming her dating show, and Kate plus 8 is on the schedule in August even though I haven't seen any promotion. The witch will never be off TV.

Hannah's ig is private now, wonder why.

I read on another site that some pervert exposed himself through one of her instagram video chats. It's just disgusting if she was targeted because she was a teenage girl or because of her fame. Anyway, I hope he's dealt with.

Eww I was wondering if it was something like that.

Another question: Is there a specific reason why these kids can't/don't go to public school? Mainly in reference to Collin. I really hope he gets to start the new year outside the facility.

Kate went to a private Christian school so I wonder if she just likes private school. She does act snobby. They go to a very expensive school so it's a good thing she made all that money. The school has been the one constant in their lives, and filming is not allowed there. In regard to Collin, he was expelled from Kindergarten with Alexis. And I may be wrong, but I think he was expelled from school later, and he was tutored at home. Then something happened, and he went to the facility. I assume he's tutored in the facility. Maybe he will be transitioned to Jon soon.

That's interesting about Kate. I thought she grew up poor, though maybe it was inexpensive/they sacrificed for it. I remember something years ago about Jon's family funding private school for the twins, but I can't imagine that would still be going on. From my own knowledge of swanky schools, most seem to focus on academics and achievement, and aren't particularly interested in students who need help or therapy in various areas, nor are equipped with the required staff. I know nothing of their specific school, but again, just my observation. A good public school however should have several counselors and behavior specialists, maybe even provide an aide. Never mind it being quite difficult to get expelled. It just seems like an obvious option, and pretty much anything seems better than another year at an institution. (Has it been two full years now??)

I went to a fairly cheap private school - but it was Catholic school. I'm not sure if theirs has a religious affiliation or not. I'm from the Midwest, where you can spit and hit a Catholic school. The way it worked when I was growing up, the richer the diocese, the cheaper the school. We went to a school in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in town, so it was only $200/year. (We did NOT live in that neighborhood. Not even close.) Whereas, my half-sister that my dad had with my step-mom went to a school in a more working class, run down neighborhood. Their church didn't pull in a ton of money from parishioners. Her tuition was about $800/year, I think.

At any rate, sorry for the rambling - just saying that Kate's school could have been relatively affordable. We grew up pretty poor, especially in the earlier years, but I went to Catholic school all the way through 8th grade.

I do think a smaller, private school might be good for the kids in terms of privacy and one-on-one attention. But it's quite true that not every kid may have benefited from that setting. With 8 kids, it doesn't surprise me that some didn't fare well there.

She also may have been intelligent enough and tested well enough for scholarships. I got so many academic scholarships to my private school ($8,000/year in 1980s-90s) that my parents only paid $200/year and it was a secular school and we did not live in the area.

Khate's idea of a scholarship is looking sad while telling gullible people how hard/expensive it is to raise 8 children.

Wow that seems so cheap compared to now. My dad went to Catholic school in the 60's/70's, they were middle class with really only his mom's income, but had been priced out when he entered junior high. I think it went up to $1000. When I went to CCD there in the aughts tuition was at least $5000, though I don't think the diocese contributes much anymore. The non-denominational Christian school in town was asking near $10,000 when I looked into going there. I live near Phillips Exeter, which is really the one worth it if you want to be upper-crusty (and the scholarships are great).

I could absolutely see Kate holding it over her kids' heads that she has to pay for them to go to school. I could also see her inducing shame over it not working out. I grew up around a boy with an NPD mother who was kicked out of the above Catholic school while his sister still attended, and she really treated him like crap surrounding that.

Jon's father was a dentist and Jon comes from an upper middle class background, he had a lot of 'extras' growing up while Kate was more firmly middle class.  Speculation was that one of the things that attracted her to Jon was his family's money; his parents were very generous, if not downright indulgent and Kate liked them as long as the money flowed her way.  His parents supposedly helped them purchase their first home; the one we saw initially on the show that Kate eventually dismissed as being far too small and shabby once she got some TV money.  His parents also purportedly spent a lot of money on the kids, particularly for private kindergarten for the twins before the TLC cash was in the picture.  His parents appeared here and there on the show and Kate sucked up to them pretty much.  However, Jon's father died and his mother, for whatever reason (like maybe needing to support herself in retirement), stopped the free flow of money to Kate.  At that point, Kate decided she hated Jon's family and cut off most of the contact with his mom and sibs.

The twins went to private pre-school, but public kindergarten.  It was in kindergarten where some problems began with the twins and publicity and she switched the kids to private school.  The show money probably figured into that decision.

That house we saw on the show wasn't their first home. There was another one before it. That one got renovated for free after the tups were born, and Kate was caught griping about the renovations. They moved to the Elizabethtown house later to be closer to Kevin and Jodi (their free babysitters).

They lived on Dauphin Avenue, in Wyomissing. It was their church that organized the remodel.

Radar on Line has an article about Kate today..makes he think her dating show is in fact a reality, as they usually give publicity to shows that will soon air, to drum up interest?

Public to TLC: Nobody's interested.

Aww yay this is good development, there's increased hope for Collin to start going to school with Hannah. Unfortunately this most likely means she won't be seeing her sisters at all, though it may have been awkward being in class together if they weren't talking anyway. She looks so much happier than the rest of the tups, it's striking.

It almost seems like Hannah wanting to live him has given Jon a confidence boost. With the twins not interested in seeing him, he seemed skittish, not wanting to force anything on the kids. I'm also getting that he's one of those parents who enjoys having older children more than littles; my dad was like that too.

I wonder if she put the retroactive nondisclosure agreements in their birthday cards or if they opened them with their presents. Along with a little whisper in their ears about how they'll be cut off forever if they ever say a word.

And I am not kidding.

I don’t personally know, but I can guess that a parent who gives 100% of their lives to their children can manage an aggressive child and siblings in their every day lives. The problem with this mother, is she was focused on herself attaining riches, fame and glory while filming a reality tv show that was truly detrimental to her marriage and family.

Im not surprised if he tried to hurt her. Haven’t people said this was going to happen for years? YEARS. I also would’ve nipped the aggression towards siblings in the bud when they were toddlers. I said it when I saw the show around season 2.

He also hurt, really hurt his siblings.  They were frightened of him.  Authorities other than the family were involved.  He’s a juvenile but everyone around knew about it.  So I would guess that either the new puppy or one of the family had to seek medical help.  The stay in this facility is often part of a plea arrangement.  So there is a good chance that this custody nonsense is just the other fame whore, Jon, making lunch money from the tabloids.

Given the gossip in the neighborhood I would be surprised to see Colin out before his 18th birthday.  It was 2 years before he even had a day pass.

Is this fact or speculation/gossip?  I don't doubt that Collin had/has behavioral issues--however, I do doubt Kate's version of any story. I am glad to see that at least he is able to visit his father and sister Hannah. Feelings of abandonment could impede Collin's progress.

Does Kate ever visit him at the facility?  Jon wants to try to care for him at home--why is that a bad thing, especially if Colin can be in an outpatient or day program?

Isn't Hannah at an age where her feelings/wishes would be taken in to account?  Absent proof of Jon being an addict or abusive or otherwise unfit, if Hannah wants to live with her dad she should be able to make that choice.  What kind of argument could Kate put forth that would outweigh Hannah’s wishes?  Even if Hannah merely says she is happier with her dad, why shouldn’t that be enough?

At 18, the person is an adult so isn't governed by judges or child custody arrangements.  As far as children deciding where they want to live, it varies by state what age a child is "officially" allowed some say and it further varies by judge and case how much weight is given the child's wishes.  It can get really messy if the parents don't agree. In one case I know young children's wishes were considered because when the judge asked what can I do for you, one of the kids asked the judge to make daddy stop drinking when he was driving them.

Where is this coming from that Colin hurt Kate is his siblings?  I have read nothing about that.   Are there any links or anything so I can read it?

I keep up with celebrity news including the Gosselins, and I've never read that. Now people speculate he's been violent, but I haven't seen any articles about it.

I agree, the only thing we know for sure is that he was in a facility for kids with emotional problems and that at least some of  the kids there are under court supervision after  committing crimes as juveniles.  Since juvenile court records are sealed, there is no way to know if Colin was placed there by the court or by his mother.  Others who have claimed to have inside information have made statements about Colin being violent and sent there as part of a court case, but they've provided no evidence to back it up.

@QuinnM, do you have links to your story about Colin hurting his siblings?  I've just searched all I can and I've found nothing that indicates that he's physically assaulted/hurt/injured anyone.  That's some horrible stuff to say about a child.

Sure a lot of the info comes from links in this forum. Remember this has been an issue for over 2 years. Do I guess you could search here. I know google isn’t always the answer since google lists by the articles with the most hits.
