Lots of character/writer kudos to go around in this episode:

Kudos for Isaac meeting a kindred spirit at the art show, and beginning his journey toward understanding that being aromantic and asexual doesn't mean you're broken or there's something wrong with you, despite of all the romantic pairings going on around him.

Kudos to Charlie for standing up to Ben after listening to his apology, and then letting him know in no uncertain terms that he never wants to have anything to do with him again - and also to Nick, for taking a step back and giving Charlie the space to handle the confrontation with Ben the way he needed to.

Kudos to Tori for being Charlie's fierce, protective big sister and letting Nick's big brother David know she will end him if he continues being an a-hole.

Kudos to Nick again for finding the courage to come out to his absentee father, and moving on from his pattern of wanting the attention and approval of a parent that will never be there for him.

And as always, kudos to Olivia Colman for lending her nurturing, supportive presence to the show - at least Nick has one family member who he can count on to love and support him.

Same! Since S01 I've really enjoyed her two minute pop-ups.  Liked seeing her at the dinner getting her claws out at David (I don't recall if that was in this Ep or another).  Also, the scene w/ the two of them at the top of the stairs, with the way he looked at her: if there's a S03, they're going to make him fancy her, right?

I like that this show now has some ace representation.

Not that thrilled that it is the chubby nerdy guy. It's typical for fiction that the chubby nerdy guy ends up without a loveinterest. So even if that is by choice here, it still seems kinda tired...

They did show that he had someone very interested in him, at least.
