Confusing storyline, that didn't go anywhere case wise, still not really sure what went on other than show us that Torres has a past, which we already knew, and that he'll fit right in with Voight & Felony Barbie. They must be giddy that they've got another fallguy after they destroyed Halstead.

Is Ruzak still on the show ?

Yes, he is undercover at the moment so wasn't really in this ep apart from one scene. He will be front & centre next week in the finale.

Benjamin Levy Aguilar is great in this episode despite the terrible writing.

Why are they trying to turn Dante Torres into a mini Voight? They have tried that with Hailey and they failed miserably.

There’s only one Voight.

The EP and the writers are really struggling with tunnel vision, don’t they?

Stories for Kevin and Dante will always be focusing on their ethnicity, their background & their past - black vs blue, cop vs criminal. While stories for Hailey and Kim will always revolve around torture porns and traumas. Geez. 😣

I'm getting tired of gang-related stories.  The writers need to put on their thinking caps and come up with something new and more interesting.

For real, I mean is there no other crime in Chicago? Although at this point I’m not sure the writers are even capable of something more interesting.

In real-world policing that's the main focus and the source of the most high-level crime. Dope importation and mass distribution, guns, and gangs just go together. Regular precinct detectives will handle robberies, burglaries and even many homicides, but every department has units like Intelligence or some variation of it—most likely without a torture cage in the basement, however.
