Ok the POV shot from inside the trunk was funny.

Cullen stole a food truck. The beginning of this episode is on fire.

I know it's Gotham but how is a crappy apartment a guarantee of safety? Why not send her to a less corrupt town under heavy security?

Harvey wears cufflinks and left one behind after sexytimes. Sloppy Harv.

I think my theory about Brody's mom wearing cocktail attire like the rest of us wear jeans was accurate. She's dressed for a party and all she did was bring her husband home from the hospital.

Gotham Academy offers Honors Geography. That actually makes sense for this city.

Ok Duella looks cute but not speechless cute so dial it back show.

Duella's mom is Jane Doe??? That...actually explains way more than the Joker connection.

Ethan Embry has a solid creepy villain smile. There absolutely are treatment centers you could send your wife to without worrying about the press. She would get the care she needs but that's not what you really want is it?

I get raising your kids to one day join the Court but actively having said kids at the meetings seems counterproductive. What if they blab? Are the Court members really so ruthless they'll kill their own kids or stand idly by when someone else does?

Way to think outside the box show! I was expecting the bottle to be for oxycodone, hydrocodone, morphine, etc., but you went with chlorzoxazone. Excellent choice and I mean that sincerely.

Damn Turner just decapitated Talon! I will laugh so hard if he's able to survive this.

How in the hell did Turner not notice the Court walk up behind Cressida? Get your eyes checked kid.

Brody's dad is the leader. No surprise but wow he's hardcore getting himself stabbed by Talon.

Duela/Olivia Rose Keegan dressed up kind of looks like a goth version of Caitlin/Danielle Panabaker from The Flash.  It works more or less, I guess.

Suspected that one of the Marchs was going to be part of the Court, so as soon as we that the lead Court Guy was using a cane, I knew it was Lincoln.  Glad they didn't drag out the reveal at least.  Curious to see why he went as far as to have the Talon stab him in front of Harvey.  He must have a lot of faith in him!

Stephanie might the only member who isn't on the run and wanted by the police, but she certainly seems to have her fair share of problems thanks to both of her parents.

Yup, more fuel to the fire for both eventual Harper/Stephanie and Turner/Duela pairings.

Feel bad for the poor sod/sods who are down a food truck now.  But sometimes sacrifices must be made for the greater good!

Harvey gets hypnotized again and wakes up with literal blood on his hands.  I'm guessing they want us to think it will end up being Rebecca March's, but we shall see.

Seriously, Turner!  I get you want answers, but maybe wait until you are out of the woods and a good distance away from the Owls on your tail before you do so!

I didn't see other kids there, and it seems like Brody isn't in on it. Maybe Little Miss Psycho was one of the few to get a shot of "electrum" before the Court ran out.

Um, so do the writers just not know how common electrum is?

Unfortunately for them they don't seem to know a lot of things.

Especially economics!  Seriously, did they think that Bruce giving away his money would end crime?  I don't know how much money Bruce had in assets (cash or what could be exchanged for cash) in this universe, but assuming there are 8 million people in Gotham how many are poor  as defined by the writers?  People who make less than 50K annually?  People on welfare and other government assistance?

Then consider that a one time payment may not last long.  There are real life tales of lottery winners and even sports celebs who had millions and lost most of it in less than 5 years.  What makes you think the "poor" who get say 250k are going to be able to hold on to that money?  IRL, lots of people piss it away on stupid stuff.  Not to mention a story I had read about the CA Gold Rush (1849) in which when gold was discovered and a boomtown was filled with "rich people" who had access to gold nuggets and gold dust, were paying inflated prices for ordinary items!  Eggs were a dollar each!  Imagine the inflation if this plan had come to pass.

Criminology/Criminal psychology - How does one come to the conclusion crime is rooted in lack of money?  Lots of people who have money do criminal acts for all sorts of reasons.  This show would have you believe the entire class of Gotham's poor are all Jean Valjeans who steal because they need a loaf of bread!  Bull!!

There's not even a mention is Turner would be covered. Is he supposed to be given X amount of cash and sent to find his own way somehow?  To move out of Wayne Manor, drop out of the Academy?  Teenagers rarely know how to handle themselves once out on their own.

Well, the fourth episode said that Turner wasn't written out of the will and the corrupt cop from before prevented Bruce's lawyer from telling the police that because it would invalidate his supposed motivation for having Bruce killed. But this sounds like even if there was a sizeable provision for him, he would still inevitably be getting less money than he would otherwise (which presumably would have been almost everything minus the usual bequests to other individuals and charities), so the motivation would stand if the authorities assume he's greedy enough to have his dad killed for leaving him only half/a quarter/etc. of a fortune instead of a whole fortune.

In this day and age, I'm actually surprised no one has even started a rumor about her drug use!  Every tabloid is online now. Professional and Amateur tabloid reporting. She was even high at her daughter's event in public in 2023. Mrs. March is hilarious. I believe she goes to the hairdresser dressed like that. 😄 Why wasn't I surprised that Mr. March is the daddy of the Court of Owls?  😄

It's a hard core porn fact that crime is linked to poverty. Bringing up money hungry white collar criminals doesn't erase that fact. The poorer a neighborhood is, the higher its crime rate will be. The richer a neighborhood is, the lower its crime rate will be. The richer you are, the better access you have to the best of everything. Poverty breeds crime. It's like how a girl born into a privileged family is likely to become a sex worker.

1) Depends on who's living there.

2) People can be poor but still have morals.  Lots of people have lived in crime ridden areas but chosen not to indulge in criminal activity.

Not quite.  Remember what Willie Sutton said about why he robbed banks:

"Because that's where the  money is."
