Annber03 March 27, 2023 Share March 27, 2023 I think this is the first time I've heard someone state they were a fan of Great White ever since that horrible concert tragedy involving the band. Some good auditions tonight, though I do wonder how some of them are going to fare as Hollywood Week starts up. 1 1 Link to comment
Ms Blue Jay March 27, 2023 Author Share March 27, 2023 (edited) Fire makes it through, to the surprise of absolutely no one. And honestly I thought her audition was horrible, and my posts about the auditions are always positive. I never see the supposedly horrible auditions that everyone else sees! I swear, I have nothing against Fire. Strippers? I love "Pour it Up" by Rihanna. I love "Magic Mike" and "Hustlers". LOL. I couldn't care less! But what I don't understand is why Fire had a complete two-episode publicity stunt to push her. What was the point? She isn't that great! I don't get why all of this completely manufactured and manipulative effort! Edited March 27, 2023 by Ms Blue Jay 3 1 Link to comment
DietCokeJunkie March 27, 2023 Share March 27, 2023 Has anyone seen a number of how many people will be in Hollywood? Who were the other platinum tickets besides Cameron last night? I feel like the coverage has been very scattered during these audition shows. 1 3 Link to comment
pvandal March 27, 2023 Share March 27, 2023 I'm sure we might hear "nepo baby" for Kaya Stewart but I really liked her and hope she does well. Also I was a big Eurythmics fan so I unless she was awful, I would be rooting for her anyway. 😃 1 1 Link to comment
twilightzone March 27, 2023 Share March 27, 2023 The producers said there were about 150 people in Hollywood Week. The Mentors and the Focus Areas are as follows. The consensus is that Idol made good choices here. Stage Presence - Justin/Jordin Confidence - Clay/Archie Songwriting - Phillip/Catie. I interpret this to be more song selection. Notes about this episode - I don't think the winner will be from here. Yeah, the whole Idol saved Fire was a waste of time. She wasn't very good. In as far as Cam getting the last Platinum ticket - Hallelujah has been so over done on singing shows. 3 1 Link to comment
sempervivum March 27, 2023 Share March 27, 2023 I hope the other contestants are paying attention to Kaya's situation. Through her father, she has to have GREAT connections to the world of music, Spoiler and she's already had and lost a recording contract yet the best move she thought she could make was to go on Idol?! How much chance does poor Cameron Amen (even with his Platinum Ticket) have? Although there were some really good singers on this episode (Kaeyra, Jayna, Oliver) the show backslid into way too many sob stories, as well as literal sobbing. Ugh. Speaking of ugh, of course 'Fire' went through, even though again she was pretty bad. I predict she disappears somewhere between Hollywood Week and Top 24. Maybe when she goes back to wherever she came from, the strip club will let her sing while she pole-dances. 1 Link to comment

I never see the supposedly horrible auditions that everyone else sees The show no longer even tries to pretend they have not earmarked many of the contestants that they will promote over the rest of the contestants. Well, at least they are being transparent. HA! Yes, Fire was not great, but I don't think she was worse than so many others they fawned over and put through. We shall see how long she lasts in the competition. There are so many that I do not see making it past Hollywood Week due to lack of talent or too timid to not be pushed around by bigger personalities. I do want to say, "Thank Goodness the Auditions are over!" I am very tired of the sad stories making the contestant "talented" enough to go through. Bring on Hell Week! 3 1 Link to comment
