When they were packing to go down the shore, I noticed a throw pillow on Jenn and Bill's [gaudy] bed with the initials "LLB".  I can't for the life of me figure that one out, either, considering that a purchase from L.L.Bean seems soooo pedestrian and basic for Jennifer.  I can't figure out if there is some high end designer with those initials!

The luau theme was not well executed. The dancers were bad, the fake leis were sad (and Jennifer made it seem like she brought them), and Melissa’s dress was unattractive. So dumb that Melissa thought cigars are Hawaiian. Was there music? The party needed a few Don Ho tunes.

To be fair, cigars are not strictly Cuban, and tobacco is also grown in Hawaii and cigars are made there (some tobacco types' ideal growing conditions are similar to those of coffee).

However, that doesn't mean that I believe that Melissa didn't totally confuse Cuba with Hawaii.

I laughed when Jen and Bill were walking in to their beach house, they bought it lock, stock and barrel including the previous owner's "H" on the wall!  Do we think they really bought that house?

I hope not, it is too vulnerable to break-ins because of it's easy to figure out location - on the boardwalk!

I'm thinking if they really bought that house Jen would have re-decorated it from top to bottom. It would be gaudy as hell but still very expensive decor from Turkey or somewhere else. Just like her McMansion in Paramus.

This was a super fun episode!  The hula party was fun and the waxing initiation was hilarious!  The husbands of this show are at their best when they are cutting up and having a good time.  I can't listen to the 475th fight between Joe G. and Teresa.  Drink, party, and be silly

I agree, as I mentioned upthread.  I personally know of a two piece band that is very local to Melissa and Joe's house that focuses on ukele and drum music with an island vibe. They play all over the Jersey Shore and are very popular.  They could have hired them-at least they would have been somewhat authentic.  I don't think they tried very hard to make things anywhere near authentic.  They just wanted this theme so the guys could wear Hawaiian shirts open to their navels and the women could wear tropical print outfits also cut down to their navels, and/or cut out everywhere else.

They probably had some kind of DJ or club music playing, but it couldn't be recorded because of copyright issues.  They had a photo booth guy and a step and repeat backdrop - I can't imagine they didn't have music.

Actually Joe does all the fighting. Teresa looks as tired of it as we are.

Louie did that thing again.  By apologizing to Melissa’s mom, like he’s the good guy stuck in the middle.  He did something like that at the guys’ night too.  And then saying he wears nono’s pajamas?  That is just weird. He’s a bit of an odd duck, that guy.

Now I should get back to my arsenal, I mean my book. 🤣 it’s about the history of cigar making in Hawaii.

Louie is a manipulator. Approaching Melissa’s mom and saying “don’t be mad at me” - he wants to be seen as the reasonable/good one in his relationship w/Teresa. It serves his ego. He’s gross.

As if it’s not creepy enough that Teresa is having sex with someone wearing her father’s pajamas, Teresa’s daughters are almost adults.  They’re finding comfort in some weirdo walking around in their grandfather’s pjs?  Ewwww.  That’s creepy as hell!

Louie may never have had an issue with Melissa's mother, but Teresa did; I'm not sure how I'd react to my fiance going against my wishes, and inviting someone to our wedding that I had made known I did not want there. I'd have an issue with that.

That bit about saying he wears Nonno's pajamas to make Tre and the girls "feel safe and loving" was bizarre. Imo it makes him look like a psychotic creeper. Part of me is kind of hoping Joe's reaction is that Nonno didn't wear pajamas.

Louie really revealed himself in this ep. That thing he pulled with Melissa's mom was just the worst. If you're not part of whatever thing makes Teresa not want to invite her, you can just be cordial to her and stay out of it. Apologizing and saying if it were up to *you* she'd be invited isn't staying out of it, it's promoting yourself by making Teresa look worse--and then he even goes running off to try to invite her right away after putting Teresa on the spot.

Followed by that weirdo pajamas comment. WTF? Sorry, I doubt the girls are that attached to the old man's pajamas that they get comfort out of you wearing them. He's just promoting himself all over the place in the pettiest ways.

Jackie liked to lord her supposed superiority over everyone and it became tiresome.  Margaret and Dolores are both pretty astute and don't sound ridiculous when speaking about things.  Jennifer Aydin is pretty smart, too, I think.  It's hard to tell because she's either screaming, whining or near black-out drunk most of the time.

Melissa and Teresa are the least smart, imo.  Hard to tell about Danielle and Rachel yet, but so far, Rachel seems a little bit brighter than Danielle, but Danielle cracks me up.

OK...I have to disagree about Jen Aydin. Smart? Certainly not book smart or intellectual...she's a TAP...Turkish American Princess. She may have street smarts however. To me she just seems like a spoiled, entitled, whiny woman. She whines about all the work she has done raising the kids but come on now...she has nannies, housekeepers etc...she lives in a palatial home with a pool, etc...wears designer clothes, shoes and jewelry...hardly the overworked mom who lives such a hard life. She and Bill seem to have little in common. He seems to spend very little time with all those kids. Does he always have to wear a shirt with his name and the name of his practice on it? Even on the weekends he's got a polo shirt on with his name and practice on it.

Wonder if Bill’s business has been affected by his drunken behavior - a surgeon doesn’t need a soggy head or shaky hands. Also wonder if his slow simmer ever suddenly becomes a blistering eruption - he gets a fierce look on his face when Jennifer lectures him.

I was thinking the same thing. I certainly wouldn't go to him after watching him acting like a college freshman at a college keg party.

I agree with you there.  I usually don't have any issues with Louie, but that preview comment was just weird.  It was also, imo, a comment intended to trigger JoeGo's hot temper.  I imagine Joe's talking head regarding that as something like this:

"I can't fucking believe that Teresa would give MY FATHER'S pajamas to this guy!!  Teresa never asked ME if I wanted anything of MY FATHER'S.  Again, this is just Teresa doing whatever the fuck she wants without considering MY feelings."

And, part of me would kind of agree with him.

I also agree with you regarding the situation with Melissa's Mom and sisters.  The sisters were absolutely vile and cruel to and about Teresa whenever they were on the show to give Melissa someone to film with.  Her Mom was a little more diplomatic, but she also had some pretty rude comments about Teresa.

I would totally have a problem if my fiance invited someone that I specifically did not want at my wedding.  Louie was 100% wrong in that situation.

But, I am also like Teresa, in that I may be able to forgive, but I will never forget.

Well...Teresa can dish out pretty good. Whatever Melissa's family said in defense of their sister/daughter seems appropriate to me inlight of all the crap Teresa and Juicy Joe have said about her over the years. What a messed up dysfunctional mess this is between these families.

So if Louie does invite Melissa’s mom to the wedding, does that mean Joe will have to find another reason to keep this Teresa storyline going? After Teresa said Melissa can be in the wedding, which it was fine of Melissa to decline, Joe then got mad about Melissa’s family not being invited.

Why would  that lunkhead Louie do that though? I don't  understand  that man at all.

Why do I think that next season Danielle’s brother and sister-in-law will join the show to take Danielle down?

This was obviously another desperate attempt by Jackie to save her job.  But it didn't work.  She ended up getting demoted.

Here's Dolores blasting Jackie - to mind her own business and worry about her own sister - since we don't know their real story, or even a quarter of it.  And that Danielle should go after that.

Is anyone else enjoying watching Jackie grasp at straws to try to stay relevant? She's so threatened by the new blonde woman for some reason (as opposed to the other new friends). I think Andy's love for the husbands and a certain ex is what's keeping her on the show. She certainly hasn't brought anything interesting to this season, and we're on episode 7 already. At least bring The Hamptons property porn vs the Aydens'  boardwalk condo rental.

I feel that one’s first instinct is usually the right one. First instinct not to ask Melissa to be a bridesmaid and first instinct not to invite her sisters and mom who trashed her on social media (not saying she didn’t participate in it too). Louie had no business undermining her decision. Marges mom put her on the spot which was rude but Tre probably figured to appease these assholes she works with is easier than to offend them.

r, even an extended Air BNB?  I was trying to figure out where the townhouse was located.  It looked like some townhouses I know of in Long Branch, which is really no where near where Melissa and Joe's house is (Long Branch is about 30-40 minutes from "Missy-G's", depending on traffic).  Also, I kind of got Teresa-level skeevies when Jenn said they are even using the previous owner's sheets.  I hope she at least washed them before using them!!  Teresa says some crazy things, but her comment in Season 1 about other people's "cleansiness" resonated with me.

I was also trying to figure out where the Fuda's shore house is.  I'm thinking it is somewhere closer to the Gorga's, perhaps Seaside Park or Lavalette, or also in Toms' River, where the Gorga's home is located.

I missed the others houses but Bill showed they were directly on the boardwalk. I figured they were in seaside somewhere (whether renting or owning). I will also add that seeing as how bougie Jenn is, I highly doubt they bought a unit ON the actual boardwalk in or around Seaside.

I will also never not crack up at “Missy G” and her “shore house”, on the bay in Toms River. As someone who spen my formative years partying in Seaside before those idiots from MTV exploited us, you’re not at the shore till your cross the bridge. Till then, you’re in Toms River. Get over yourself Missy G. And Jackie saying look at Bill, he’s gonna fall in the ocean. No, not quite dear stupid Jackie, to get to the ocean you have to cross the bridge (see above) to the shore. Till then, you’re on the bay, in Toms River. Idiots. Every last one of them.

I am so over this wedding bullshit. Oy vey…a nearly 50 year old woman getting married for the second time and all the drama that’s really more appropriate for a 20 something sorority girl.

I used to find the men mildly endearing, but now I see a sad lot that have no real jobs or ambitions aside from riding their wives coattails. Poor Frank is terrified that Paulie will take his place and paycheck.

A manipulator needs everybody to love him and think he's swell. Then when his wife/girlfriend starts revealing what happens behind the scenes, she's met with "no way, not him. She must be the problem." And if his target is already somebody with Tre's track record, it's even easier.

That's why I couldn't figure it out.  I haven't been to Seaside in a few years, but I don't recall any townhouse complexes right on the boardwalk, next to any bars, but they could have been built since I was last there.  That's why I was thinking Long Branch, because there are several condo and townhouse complexes that are directly on the Long Branch boardwalk.  I could totally be wrong, though.

I do agree with you about the difference between Toms River and Seaside, but I would still consider Toms River "down the shore", especially if I lived still lived in North Jersey.  It's close enough to the ocean, and the bay beaches in Toms River are very nice.  (I actually prefer the bay beaches - I grew up in North Jersey and my family spent our summers on the bay in Toms River and we always referred to it as "down the shore").  Also, don't forget - Melissa grew up in Toms River, so of course, she's going to say "down the shore".

Mrs. Weird Spray-On Beard (OMG I cannot remember her name!) and Danielle are PAINFULLY boring. Please, no scenes with them solo and definitely not together again. They're constantly confused with just about everything and the dark-haired one has two brain cells that are fighting each other for survival. Danielle and her brother story is just as boring as Blowhard JoGo's martyr bullshit. And her neon pink makeup and nails are absolutely not doing her any favors. At all.

Speaking of confused, I cannot for the life of me figure out why Jennifer looks like a wet poodle on the daily but her blowout in the talking head is so amazingly voluminous and full? She's like a dog with a bone - much like the affair talk - with Margaret.

Oh, Bill. I don't think his left eye opened the last half of this episode, he was so wasted. Like Margaret said, he probably has to be drunk off his balls to be in the presence of his harpy wife.

Oh my god, the fucking Martyr Gorgas™️. Can't wait for this wedding to be over so we can get on to the next thing that they're pissed about? All of that food looked like it was dried out at their luau, too. That meat tower made me queasy.

I'm sorry, but all we hear about is how Frank was a HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE, NO-GOOD, NASTY CHEATING PIG OF A HUSBAND over and over and OVER. He was married to Dolores for less than four fucking years and they're been separated/divorced since 1998. They've co-parented since then and he's been supportive, repentant, and a good dad. Could we change the trope, maybe? I think he's been used to Dolores either being alone or being BFFs with her boyfs (well, at least David) and now he feels a little left out because Pauly Walnuts pissed all over his 'territory.' I get how he'd feel left out since the dynamic has changed, but his girlfriend echoed the same sentiments so I think there might be a little more to the story.

Jackie must be lobbying hard to get her spot back as an 'real' housewife with this continued poking at Danielle. It's like her only avenue this season.

Excellent observation about Frank…He keeps saying “he’s hurt” by Delores  being in a relationship with another man…meanwhile he’s got a young hottie himself! How ridiculous of him to claim he’s “hurt”. He’s just worried about being phased out on the show.

Dolores has started to let on that Frank was more than merely unfaithful.  In what ways, I don't know, but when he was an attorney he was running all sorts of side businesses and using client money to keep them afloat, resulting in disbarment, so he's not just happy go lucky ladies' man/loving ex Frank.

I don't know if she's in therapy, or just the therapy of seeing her life on tv and reading what people have to say about it, but she seems to have passed some threshold of understanding that the relationship with Frank was problematic, even if she told herself it was for the kids. Maybe it was living on her own for the first time.

Whatever it was, once people cross a threshold of letting go, they don't go back. I think she's let Frank go, whether new guy sticks around or not. If he wants to maintain a happy relationship for the kids at weddings and funerals and the occasional barbecue, he needs to start dealing with it.

Theresa has clarified that the pyjamas were new and never worn by her dad.  And he was trying to get Joe’s approval.  It came from a good place.  I’ll wait for more context, but it still seems like such a weird thing to say.

There’s also a clip from the next show of Theresa saying Louie lost $250,000 by investing in a pizza oven scheme with Joe.  It was Joe’s idea but then Louie only wanted to give him 5% ownership and Joe flipped out.  Again, it’s a weirdly edited clip (and it’s told by Theresa), so the true story may be totally different.  Does Louie really have enough money to do something like that?

The pajama thing is so odd it defies explanation and I am still trying to figure out the dynamics of Looeeey's thought process of wearing some dead man's pajamas would comfort the girls because I wonder if they all cuddled Nonno in his pj's or what? Think about Looeey having that phrase "Tieni le acciughe" (it was something in Italian that meant something to Teresa and her parents although I wrote "Hold the anchovies"),engraved on a tile on the patio to in my mind to keep his footing as framing him as so empathetic towards the deceased parents, Manipulation 101, "How to manipulate the main target," the pajamas are Manipulation 102, "How to manipulate the kids."

I pray that the pajama situation comes up at the reunion.

No Kidding!  Her condo or townhouse is very basic and from the quick glimpse out the balcony doors it looks to be right on top of the boardwalk.  They even kidded that at 2-3am you can hear the drunks on the boardwalk yelling.  Reminds me of Jersey Shore episodes.  So, it looks like a low-end condo/townhouse, in a crowded and noisy part of the Shore.  As she did the tour it looked a thousand other rental properties in a beach town.

I was trying to think how I'd react if my SIL came to me saying she wears my mom's muumuus to comfort my brother and help him deal with the loss. I'd definitely be taken aback, then probably say something like "That's nice," maintain a safe distance, and side eye both of them forever. It's a weird thing to say and even weirder if it's true.

Regarding the Gorga luau and why they didn't have any music, it's likely due to filming. When it's a party for production I'm sure music is not allowed so as to not obscure any conversations that need to be picked up by mics. Same reason evening events are in bright spaces with the lights on and not dark, so cameras can capture the action better.

And speaking of the Gorgas, I'm sick of people accusing them of keeping this fight alive so they can have a precious storyline and stay on the show. If you think that's too thin a premise to remain on the show, think of the other women. What is Dolores' storyline? What is Margaret's? What is Jenn's? They're all thin. Dolores should be thanking Frank for being around all these years, otherwise she'd be even less interesting than she already is.

What I'm saying is, the purpose of the women on these shows is to interact and cause drama. The Gorgas are doing their job, period. They have no less a reason to still be there than anyone. Plus Teresa has it coming, she's a monster.

Whatever it was, once people cross a threshold of letting go, they don't go back. I think she's let Frank go, whether new guy sticks around or not. If he wants to maintain a happy relationship for the kids at weddings and funerals and the occasional barbecue, he needs to start dealing with it.

Frank living with Delores's ex David (the last BF who ghosted her) may have been something that bothered her. Frank seems to be the kind of guy that liked the casual relationship he had with Delores...coming and going when he pleased and buddying up to her BF's. Paulie is friendly to him but he he isn't not being BF's with him...Frank needs to have boundaries now and he doesn't like it.

I do not even know where the thought process comes from to even make that up!
