A look at the couples of S3 and where they are a year later

When Alexa tells her stepmom that she is trying to get pregnant and her stepmom asks her, "Are you ready to have that big stomach?", I'm sorry but the only thing I could think about was "Umm, Stepmom, that ship has sailed!"🙄

So here are my thoughts after watching this episode:

1. What backyard breeder did Matt get his dog from because reputable breeders make you sign a contract that requires you to fix your puppy and shelters usually have either fixed the animals themselves or require you do so within a certain amount of time after adoption.  So the fact that he hasn't neutered his dog yet (and what is his reason for this?) make me think he got him from some janky backyard breeder, which makes me side eye Matt even more than I already was.

2. I fear Alexa may have PCOS or a thyroid issue because she seems to have gained a lot of weight in the past year and if she and Brennen have been having unprotected sex for a year and aren't pregnant, that could be a sign that there's a problem.  

3. Nancy is a fool.  

4. Did all the women (except for Alexa) decide to lighten their hair together?  Why are they all blonde or blonde highlighted all of a sudden?  And honestly, save for Raven, it's not the best look on most of them.

Seeing how horrid Zanab treated Cole during the series and in the reunion, I can just imagine how the contrived Alexa birthday party will go in the next episode when they see each other.   And uggh why is Nancy even still hanging with Bartise.   Oh right....to film this contrived farce...LOL.     On to the next episode.

Speaking of things that are contrived, Matt says he can't move in with Colleen because he doesn't want to pay $5K to break his lease.  But didn't they say that this special was ONE YEAR after the weddings? So, either he has a two-yr lease (is that even a thing?) or he re-upped his lease AFTER they got married?  Something stinks here and I don't think it's the anchovies on Raven's salad!😆

I'm so annoyed at this show, the world continues to drag Cole for what happened during the season but all of Bartise and Matt's shitty behaviour was completely swept under the rug and is forgotten UGH....yet here I am. 

I'm not a fan of Brennan anymore like I was at the beginning of the show. I find it hilarious that Alexa's dad made the comment about how Alexa definitely runs that relationship. 

The only person I can root for at this point is Raven. Nancy seems like a really nice person, and a very savy business woman, she deserves better and I wish she wouldn't let the show drag her down this production driven stuff with Bartise.

I had almost decided not to watch this because after the reunion I decided I did not like any of these people, except Maybe Raven and I felt bad for Cole.

But I am nothing if not a completionist.

My first and overwhelming thought when watching this was.... why the 10lbs of spackled on make-up?  And the lips!  Did they all invest in a  Kylie Jenner lip plumper?  I am really disheartened by the dependence on this specific aesthetic.  And why so many women buy into it.  Nancy and Zanab in particular are remaking themselves into the image of, well, Alexa.  Their unique features were perfect for them.

Raven looks so natural in her apartment with SK and then we get to her talking head where the lip liner and super gloss is so distracting.  Nancy was doing too much.  She was wearing a cocktail dress for a lunch and drinks. 

I lost a LOT of my early liking I had for Brennon and Alexa and this did nothing to change that.  They both are annoying.  She keeps talking about their sex life.  And he comes off as holier than thou.  I think it is hysterical that it seems like her dad back hand shades him for being the beta member of their pair.  It feels like her dad likes him ok, but doesn't totally respect him. 

And Brennon saying "I just don't want to be around him."  About Cole when Bartise is right there acting a fool.  What did Cole ever do to you? 

Look, I am no great fan of Cole, but the outsized dumping on him is ridiculous especially coming from Alexa and Brennon.  Zay is the only one who might legitimately have beef.  The way they continue to personalize what went on in someone else's relationship is stupid. 

Colleen saying “He sees a future with me.” That sounds like something you say about someone while you are dating, not while you’ve been married for a year.

I guess people see Alexa as "funny", but she is just annoying to me. She's in the category of being "too much." And I did like Brennon in the beginning but I think because he thought America would hate Cole, he'd just jump on the bandwagon. In my opinion, Bartise is worse than Cole ever was and Matt is no prize. Yet Brennon is always picking on and at him. Zeneb was rightfully hurt with his comments about Colleen and I would have been done at that point too.. but throughout the season she was just ridiculous too and I can see why she is single (not by choice.)

Colleen and Nancy are the only 2 I like. Colleen in the pods was weird and I thought she was just trying any which way to get herself to stay on the show so she went through like 3 guys, but she actually seems to be a good girl and I guess she really was into Matt.

I am starting to wonder if a past girlfriend of Brennon's dumped him for a guy like Cole.  Maybe Cole reminds Brennon of the guys that he could not compete with.

Also, and here's a crazy idea, he could just move in with Colleen and NOT break his lease!  Since he is seeming to imply that the rent is already a sunk cost to him, it doesn't matter whether he lives there or in Timbuktu.  There's no reason he couldn't spend most of his time at Colleen's and a little at his place, just to be sure everything's still OK there. 

But even better, since he's soooo worried about the money, why not be the most cost-effective?  Using a very conservative estimate of $1,000/month for his rent, if he broke the lease as soon as they were married and moved in with Colleen, that would have been $12,000 saved in rent not paid.  Subtracting out the $5,000 for breaking the lease, that's still $7,000 he would not have wasted, and each month staying in the apt supposedly because of the breaking the lease penalty, is just more money wasted.  Realistically, his rent is at least $1,500, which simply makes the timeframe quicker that it would have matched the $5,000 for breaking the lease.  They just need to be up front about the real reason(s) they haven't moved in, and then this whole discussion would be moot.  We would still probably find it stupid to be married and choosing to live together with NO timeline for moving in together, but at least they wouldn't also be hypocritical financial idiots!

She also kept referring to how they say "we picked each other for a reason", and they use that as their motivation for getting through tough times.  But actually, girlfriend did not pick him...she basically defaulted to him when her two real preferences noped out.

Seriously, without the names appearing on the screen I had a hard time figuring out who was who, they all looked alike, And not in a good way.  Why demean yourself so much to wear those ridulous dresses, 5 inch heels and a ton of makeup.  And the guys of course show up in polo shirts or whatever.
