So glad Todd’s mom is expressing her growing trust and value of him, and that he is living up to it. Likewise with Todd’s sister and Lyle bonding with him rather than being adversaries.

And Todd’s genuine concern for justice for others is very soothing to see in these often fraught times of reality.

But the legal loophole that allowed Margaret to turn in evidence against her client-company’s employee in favor of the opposing side’s client wasn’t clear to me.
Jack McCoy wants clarification too.😉

I covet the blouse Margaret wore near the beginning.

I enjoyed this episode. My husband asked last night how the show is and I said it was good enough. It is a pleasant enough time waster with characters that are fairly interesting. I think the writing is getting sharper so I will continue to watch.

Margaret was hired to represent the company PDTRONiX, so she was not beholden to anyone who works there, but to do what was in the best interest of the company and root out an employee committing fraud.

I thought it was funny that Jane Lin wanted Todd Wright to be her attorney and not Margaret.

I think Jane must have thought Todd was a lawyer, because I don't think he said specifically that he was a private investigator for the firm.

Took me a while to recognize that lawyer from the previous episode. I wonder why they brought him back to be a love interest? Did they intend him to be that all along?

I was pretty sure the first time he appeared that he would be back as a love interest. Seemed to be clearly set up that way from the start to me.

Agreed, I commented on this after his first episode. He does seem like a good match for Margaret. I laughed when she got all flustered and blurted out "I like peanut butter."

I do viewer surveys for CBS and CW. I got a questionnaire today that asked me a lot of questions about this show such as favorite and least favorite characters and why, favorite episodes, etc.

I got the impression they're still trying to decide in what direction to take the show.

It really needs work. The awkward slapstick crap is starting to wear thin. Play it more as a light-hearted drama than a neither-fish-nor-fowl dramedy. Like "The Rookie" but at a law firm. The fundamental characters in the show are good but there are cringeworthy, awkward scenes in every episode that turn me right off.
