dubbel zout December 2, 2022 Share December 2, 2022 This packed couch airs 12/2. Edited to take Emma Thompson out; she wasn't on the show. (Damn!) Link to comment
theatremouse December 4, 2022 Share December 4, 2022 Waaaaay too many guests. From the cold open alone, I was like, geeze, outdoing their already recent highs of too many by a bunch. 1 1 Link to comment
dubbel zout December 4, 2022 Author Share December 4, 2022 I thought it worked pretty well, mostly because McKellan and Bishop came on at the end. The earlier guests got a decent amount of time. Link to comment

I second that Damn! I thought the couch worked too, the first three got a couple of segments, then the bigger personalities of McKellan and Bishop took over the remaining few segments. I don't think I've ever seen Daniel Craig on a talk show before, know him only from his film work. I was so happy to see how engaged he was with the audience, the other guests and Graham. 1 Link to comment
dubbel zout December 5, 2022 Author Share December 5, 2022 Craig is a very good guest, at least what I've seen of him on GNS. He's always listening to the other guests and isn't afraid to be the butt of a joke. 5 Link to comment

I saw the U.S. version, and noticed a very wonky edit when John Bishop was showing what some things are in BSL (British? Sign Language). They zoomed in tight on his face, and I think it was done in post-production, which makes me think the sign was vulgar. It was certainly hilarious, to judge by everybody's reaction. 1 Link to comment
dubbel zout December 9, 2022 Author Share December 9, 2022 I just remembered when Craig was on with Ed Sheeran, who was showing off the crib he made for his newborn, and all Graham and Craig could do was ooh and aah over the lawn, and then the two of them burst out laughing at how middle-aged that made them. It was so funny. 3 1 Link to comment

What I don't understand is why they cut it out for the American version. They already edit the version we get, presumably for time. I don't know how many Americans would know who Matt Hancock is; I didn't. And only by seeing the sign or hearing its description would I infer that he's not a popular guy. So just cut it out. Oh well, we still had Daniel Craig. Link to comment
