Zaffy October 13, 2022 Share October 13, 2022 I am a sucker for "running out of time" episodes and all hands on deck to save the day. I quite enjoyed this one. The whole situation with Karmen "effing Marissa's doppelgänger" was hilarious. However, I am still not convinced with the whole Ri'chard is talking over the firm plot. Although taking the firm back from ST Laurie seems intriguing, I wonder how on earth they gonna cover all this in the remaining episodes. So who was the man that fell from upstairs/the roof? Someone from STLaurie? 2 1 Link to comment

I assumed it was one of the protestors, a white banner fell along with him so I thought maybe he was trying to put it on the roof and fell or soemthing but TBH I am just incredibly confused by this season 3 2 Link to comment
Shermie October 14, 2022 Share October 14, 2022 I thought the guy that fell from the roof was the alcoholic judge that they broke out of rehab. 20 hours ago, Zaffy said: The whole situation with Karmen "effing Marissa's doppelgänger" was hilarious. Except that the two women didn’t look alike at all except for having the same hairstyle and similar clothing styles. Put one in a dress or jeans & hoodie and let the hair down and they look nothing alike. Marissa has a round face with chubby cheeks and the other one has a thin face with angular features. This show is nuts, and I love it. 6 2 Link to comment
PurpleTentacle October 14, 2022 Share October 14, 2022 I don't know. At the point where the boy was admitted to the trial and it was all about money, this episode lost all urgency for me. Because if Ri'Chard loves his nephew so much, couldn't he just fork over the 9 million for it? That has to be pocket change for him. 2 hours ago, Shermie said: I thought the guy that fell from the roof was the alcoholic judge that they broke out of rehab. That dude was a doctor and no, it wasn't him. 1 Link to comment
Milburn Stone October 15, 2022 Share October 15, 2022 Was a refreshing twist that the donor who pulled out did not do so for racist reasons. 21 hours ago, PurpleTentacle said: I don't know. It was the mother saying to the boy, paraphrasing, "Time to go into that pathetic act we've perfected." There's no denying it was a good stratagem for this hearing; what bothered me was the notion that they've done It many times before. But I guess it's actually consistent with the episode's theme that no one who seems bad at first glance is really all bad, and no one who seems good is really angelic. 1 2 Link to comment

I didn't get that they were trying to make us think it was for racist reasons; I thought they were going for, he went with someone willing to pay big under the table. I was thinking if he knew the procedure was for someone with sickle cell, he would already have a pretty good idea of their race. But now that you bring it up, maybe he didn't know the reason the potential recipient needed the transplant...? Anyway, I was glad that he wasn't just making up a fast excuse about his sister needing a kidney. 1 2 Link to comment

Yeah, that kind of bugged me too. They both had dark hair, that was about it. Completely different faces and body types, plus Marissa's outfit that day was because she was at a combat class, not because that's her usual look! I loved this episode and tried not to be bothered by the absurd conceit that (a) nobody would be working already on a Saturday and (b) Ri'Chard conveniently only needed precisely all this show's main cast members on this mission. For the most part it worked. I assume they won't follow up with Carmen or Marissa actually having to do egg-harvesting? I also wasn't sure why they said one half of the US would hate a kid from a Black egg donor and the other half would hate a kid from a Jewish egg donor. I do not think those are entirely separate halves! (But I got the point, just being nitpicky.) 1 Link to comment
Joimiaroxeu October 23, 2022 Share October 23, 2022 Interesting to see Ri'Chard so worried and beaten down for a change. Mal'Com. Donor fetishist group. Now I've heard everything. I would've expected Marissa already to be trained in Krav Maga if she was in the IDF. Would that not be a part of their basic training? Guess not. Wow, the woman from NIH was a straight up bitch. Who would condemn an 11-year old to death over some jurisdictional b.s.? (Her being Asian was kind of unfortunate casting though, IMO, due to some IRL issues.) Oh well, it was fun the short while it lasted. Ri'Chard the egomaniac is back. For a second I thought that guy who went splat at the end was Dr. Bettencourt but he didn't have white hair, thank goodness. Link to comment
