nokat September 22, 2022 Share September 22, 2022 I want to watch this again. It is such a great show, and I'm envious of those who watch it for the first time. 4 Link to comment

I'd never had any interest in the series -- since I don't believe there's any sort of after-life, a show set in one did not sound like it would be my jam* -- but for some reason decided to watch it last year. I wound up so glad I had never heard anything about it other than it's good, so I wasn't spoiled for anything. I started a re-watch a little while back, and enjoyed picking up on some of the great little details I hadn't absorbed the first time around, but I was distracted away from it by other interests about halfway through. I will go back, definitely, but nothing can compare to the magic of a first watch. *I wound up really liking it because the after-life was just the setting for exploring what we owe each other when we're living. And because its version of an after-life is the best fantasy I've ever heard anyone come up with yet -- there's no punishment, you get the chances you need to become the best version of yourself. You're rewarded for learning those lessons with as much time as you want to do anything and go anywhere, but you're not saddled with eternity unless that's what you want; if and when you're ready, you get to end, with an encompassing sense of completion and peace being the last thing you ever feel. And because relationships of all types were equally valued; romantic partnerships were not presented as more important. 1 6 Link to comment

I agree that nothing can compare to the magic of a first watch, but I just started a rewatch and may actually be enjoying it more because I can focus on the details and appreciate both the plot and the acting more now that I know what's coming. I'm up to episode 9 of season 1 on the rewatch and trying not to get through it too quickly. 3 Link to comment
