From what I have read and seen of Jan, it seems her father was much more reasonable and proactive in correcting what he thought were his mistakes. Her father is deceased now, so he can't tell his story. I want to keep the focus on B and what an evil POS he was, I don't think Jan's parents were evil people, but maybe Jan had to compartmentalize things to keep a good relationship with her parents.

I would like to hear from B's sons. Jasper needs to do a tell all.

I do too, especially after this episode. I wonder if any of the Berchtold children were able to develop healthy relationships as adults after such a messed-up childhood.

Jan’s sister Susan did reach out to one of B’s sons. He’s a lawyer and wished her well but didn’t want to be a part of the documentary or the series. Let me find the article.

Here.

This is interesting. The FBI agent who worked with the family interviewed in this podcast, he says what a strange case this was. The Brobergs kept a lot of information from him, he is frustrated because if they would have been honest he said they could have put Berchtold in jail for life.

The FBI agent said Bob (the father) had 6 sexual encounters with Berchtold and Mary Ann (the mother) had 19. I have said this before here, I think because Jan and her mother were involved with the making of this series that they whitewashed some of what happened.

Requoting you because I listened to the podcast. I heard that B married a woman with a 10yrs old right after this but she got hip to his ways and kicked him out (good for her). If any other victims come forward and want to share their story I wonder if the aliens plot was something he honed over the years or something specific to Jan. Did he manipulate other kids and families using their interests like this? I don’t want to violate anyone’s privacy (only if they want to share) but if other victims want to share with us to alert people to the ways of these creeps I think it could do more good. Not that Jan hasn’t done a world of good sharing her story.
