Panhandle is an 8 Episode crime dramedy TV Series that premieres exclusively on Spectrum On-Demand, with the first two episodes on Monday, September 26, and new episodes released each week on Monday. Panhandle pairs an eccentric, agoraphobic arm-chair detective Bellweather 'Bell' Prescott with a reluctant traffic cop Cammie Lorde to showcase community and connection, with "only-in-Florida" type characters.  When a dead body winds up on Prescott’s doorstep, Bell and Cammie are forced to wrestle with personal demons, some shocking twists and a few Florida gators on their journey to heal themselves and their small Florida town.

Tiana Okoye plays Cammie Lorde, a traffic cop roped into helping Bell investigate a murder on his property.

Glenn Morshower plays Sheriff Grant, the Okaloosa County Sheriff and Cammie’s boss. Grant and Cammie get off on the wrong foot, especially when Grant learns that she’s working with Bell – with whom the Sheriff has a lot of beef.

Luke Kirby plays Bellweather 'Bell' Prescott, who refuses to leave his rambling property on the Apalachicola River that he shares with his mother and his pet alligator. A personal tragedy, five years ago, has left Bell an eccentric, agoraphobe.

Grant Freely plays Young Bell

Lorenza Izzo plays Vida, Bell’s beautiful and complicated Cuban-American wife, whose family runs a rum company and who’s carrying a secret of her own.

Lesley Ann Warren plays Millicent Prescott, Bell’s Florida grande dame of a mother. After losing her husband six years ago, Millicent has devoted herself to taking care of her traumatized and agoraphobic son in their massive Florida estate. Millicent is fairly fearless and knows her way around a shotgun, which she’ll point at either a gator or an irritating police officer.

Forrest Goodluck plays Checotah, the local delivery guy and consummate stoner, who remembers everything that everybody orders. Checotah has formed a friendship with the agoraphobic Bell after delivering many packages to his property, and on one such delivery he gets inadvertently sucked into the investigation of the murdered man on Bell’s property.

Wallace Smith plays Dr. Otis, the local doctor working in Boggsville, Florida – at least until he can pay off his student loans and open a Botox clinic in Atlanta. Otis is concerned that Bell, by ignoring his agoraphobia to go out in the world, is going to work himself into a heart attack.

Melanie Minichino plays Darby Hix, an ex-stripper and the town’s certified pest exterminator. Darby takes her new business very seriously. She’s smart and witty, and an old friend of Bell’s from high school.

Landon Chase DuBois plays Tyler Lorde

Mo Gallini plays Alejandro Perez

David De Vries plays Skramstad

Deja Dee plays Bitty

Paulina Gálvez plays Alicia Perez

I was really enjoying the first episode, very quirky and surreal. I did not understand why the person that killed the blue man did it.

The second episode I did not like as much, it doesn't seem as tightly written as the first or as logical. The incidental characters are not as strange, although I did love the scene with the Confederate flag. Maybe they shouldn't have gone straight for his wife's murderer, but instead solved a few more murders first.

Mr. Ctlady and I just stumbled upon this on Spectrum Originals while waiting for our usual shows to premiere.  Really enjoying it.  It's fun, not preachy, interesting and very quirky.  I love how Cammie (whose not a FL native) rolls her eyes and mumbles, "Florida" whenevever referring to the behavior, etc of the locals or their customs

For some reason Spectrum released the last 3 episodes at the same time. Spectrum claims they are no longer making original series, but since this series was done in partnership with Roku there is a possibility the the series might continue since Roku has funded series before.
