Netflix: A fresh set of realtors square off, competing to establish themselves at The Oppenheim Group's second office on the Orange County coast. Will the pressure prove too much for these agents to handle? Premieres August 24. 2022.

Well, Gio's mom obviously doesn't use Jane Fonda's plastic surgeon.

Jason, you didn't hire these people for their ability to sell real estate. You hired them for their looks.

This show is proof that guys can be just as bitchy as an office full of women. Maybe there's a market for "Real Husbands of Beverly Hills".

Omg that conversation at the beginning of episode 2 killed me … I’m so great everyone’s jealous… yea totally.. I’m so great I think I’m intimidating and the other girls are OBVIOUSLY jealous of me you see it right?
yes totally…

I wish there was more actual real estate porn and less focus on the infighting in the office. Is Alex Hall supposed to be the Christine Quinn of this version? I don't find her personality quite as grating as Quinn's, but if I never see her boob job again it will be too soon. The same with Kayla's chest.

Ok is it just me or does it feel like two separate shows one with the girls and guys and one with the two (and I’m sorry to say this ) most vapid conversation wrapped in self gratification wrapped in backhanded complements girls … why is Jarvis never around the whole group like ever?

They're probably trying to claim the "roles" they want based on "Sunset". Gio seems like the male Christine Quinn, Alex Hall looks like Chrishell Stause but maybe trying to be the female Christine, since Quinn gets mentioned even when she's not on screen and she fights with everybody. Jarvis reminds me of Emma Hernan from Sunset and Polly reminds me of Maya Vander. Kayla may be the Davina, since she's got a client she can't satisfy. As to who is the Mary, the Heather Rae, the Amanza....that hasn't shaken out yet in this first season, probably because the cast is too big. Cutting half the women and half the men would probably help.

ETA: I forgot that one of the guys is married to a tv actress, so that makes him the male Chrishell. Let's hope his marriage goes better than hers did to Hartley.

I googled their web site and clicked on it to have a look. There are a lot of agents working there, more than we saw on the Netflix show. My PC slowed to a crawl before I could count them all, so I'm afraid there's some malware on that site.

I've only watched the 1st episode. Good God, these people are dumber than 20 boxes of hair. The realtors in the West Hollywood crew look like Mensa members compared to these vapid goobers.

The one woman who had her first kid at 17 had a horrible story (if true)-who would dump their pregnant kid at a shelter? Jeez.

I'm not far enough in to be able to tell the other cast members apart (except for the obnoxious Gio dude and the Brit chick). The men are especially indistinguishable to me. Gio's Mom looks like she's headed for Jocelyn Wildenstein territory with the plastic surgery.

The houses are also all indistinguishable to me. Sure, they have great views and fancy interior finishes, but they're all multi-level stucco and glass boxes with infinity pools. For me, aesthetically the exteriors of these homes are hideous. I guess the point of them is that no one ever looks at the outside - they're all crammed against the hillsides overlooking the ocean. You'd think having mega-bucks would buy you some eccentricity and uniqueness. Meh. ((shrugs at rich people taste))

That seems to be human nature, though. Look at pictures of seaside Greece or the Amalfi coast of Italy. Those houses crammed against the hillsides are hundreds of years old (and a few are thousands of years old), all look pretty much alike, and we think it looks charming. Maybe some day that will be the case in California too.  We'll all be long dead by then, though.

The thing that blows my mind is that these houses are being bought as 2nd, 3rd, 4th...nth homes for rich people and they're probably going to sit empty except for a few weeks a year.

Maybe, but I have a feeling  the Laguna/Newport houses will have all slid into the ocean long before future generations find them collectively charming.

Ok, I literally played (all?) 8 episodes TWICE this weekend. After the first 'viewing' I realized I'd paid so little attention I couldn't name any of the cast members. Pretty much played Candy Crush, Wordle, etc. the whole time. The second viewing... THE SAME DAMN THING HAPPENED. What a snoozefest. I'm out.

Too much personal, and not enough real estate.  No one is really all that likeable.  The gang ups are disgusting.  The reasoning behind their anger is stupid and pointless.

The fake outrage at the girl for trying to kiss the married guy when they were doing the same thing and getting naked in front of him? Gross.

The girl that was crying about her mom's health says her mom is her everything but she won't visit? Go visit your mom!

The guy that's attached to his mom's real estate dreams?  Oedipus complex.

I started watching Selling Sunset for the real estate, but they sidelined that for drama.  OC should have learned to stick with the real estate.

ETA: BTW, Alex Hall totally snubbed the guys wife.  She was awkward about it, and she should have just apologized, but she kept digging her hole.  If these people are trying to be professional, they are ALL failing.

I watched it this weekend.  I am not sure I like any of them.  I can watch all of them without picking sides. They have their little cliques.  Kayla seemed to run back and forth depending who would agree with her.  Alex Hall sure likes the spotlight.  I don't like her and she can put her boobs away.  I kept wondering how the wives felt watching this.

Why oh why did I watch…they somehow have even less houses than the other one… and no one seem to be likeable so hard to pick sides or even care…..we all know these shows manufacturer drama situations    but this seemed  so much worse/extra staged … which is saying a lot….   Does anyone know if the 100 million house sold, the only interesting house and not even their listing!

These folks are like the Jersey Shore kids moved to California and are pretending to be real estate agents. About 12 brain cells between them all.

The only one I see as a real agent and possibly having a future in real estate is Gio, and that’s only due to his mother. Seems to be wanting to follow in her footsteps.

All the talk about their “first big listings”. How the hell has this office remained opened? There must be many other real agents behind the scenes doing the selling and these characters are coming straight from the casting couch. I had such high hopes for this show…so disappointing.

And I expected much more from the houses out there. Heck, Vicki Gunvalsons house was more impressive than some of what was shown.

She didn't visit her mom because Covid is still a thing and the mom was undergoing chemo, which compromised her immune system.

Gio, Jarvis & Rose are the only producers out of the bunch, which is the real reason the rest of the cast doesn't like Jarvis & Rose and starting rumors about how they get their double digit listings.  Funny how the cast started rumors about how Jarvis & Rose get their listings, mock Jarvis' education, snub them at office functions, tell them they hate them but Jarvis & Rose are the bullies.  Right.

I saw that earlier today. I didn’t realize they were practically newlyweds when filming happened. I base that on saying divorcing after less than two years.

I found myself liking Gio and his wife the most by the end of the season. And Polly. And the dude who a couple of times wore glasses and was kind of a hot nerd.
I will stick around for next season but I hope they work out the dynamics between work and personal better.

And also that they drop maybe half of the women would be cool.

I have no idea who Brittany Snow is (I'm old) but I did think Tyler was a cutie amongst a sea of indistinguishable himbos. He also seemed nice from what we saw on camera.

I was also surprised that I wound up liking Gio more than I thought I would - he has the nicest home out of all of them. It was probably the only house that's been featured on the show that I could picture myself living in.

Doesn't matter.  One thing that Covid taught me is that if you love someone, see them and spend time with them.  People were left alone for far too long.

Why do they all call Alex by her full name Alex Hall?

Because there are 2 other Alexandras in the office & they all use "Alex", so they call them variations on the name to tell them apart. She just decided to use her last name too.

Thanks for the explanation, I realised the logic halfway through the series :)

I don’t think there’s a single likeable person in this cast. They’re all awful. I would say maybe I’m rooting for Jarvis and Rose just on account of the others being so fucking awful.

Alex Hall is a bully and Jason should have fired her on the spot for cursing and shouting during the team meeting. So unprofessional.

Polly is insane. Insane. She’s always camera mugging and she’s not remotely as funny or witty as she thinks she is.

Kady is the perpetual victim. Crying every episode while doing shady things. Playing both sides of the office politics but turning on Jarvis/Rose for being the outnumbered side.

Brandi thinks she’s above the bitchiness because she “says it to your face” but really says it a hundred times more behind your back.

I thought Tyler was ok until he turned on Rose/Jarvis in the last episode and same with the twin dad guy who’s name I don’t even care to remember.

They’re just all a pile of bullies and it’s frustrating that they’re presented as being in the right somehow? From what I can tell the girls are mainly jealous of the success of the other two and would likely turn on each other once one is deemed to be doing better. Not that the Jarvis/Rose are even likeable - they’re just the best of a truly awful bunch of morons. They don’t even talk to each other, they just shout over each other and every scene has them bringing out the violin and reciting how they “came from nothing” as though that somehow elevated them above everyone.

Truly awful although on the bright side they’ve made me appreciate selling sunset which I never saw happening.

I’m almost finished with the first season. Echo a lot of your comments. One question: why is Jason so heavily featured and not Brett? Same thing on Sunset. I thought this show might be more Brett’s, but I didn’t see him. Is he the invisible brother?

Agree there are too many cast members. I can’t keep track of all of them. Not surprised about Tyler and his wife.

I just binge watched the whole season.  They have so many cast members and even brought a new member on that it is hard to keep up with who is who.

I make up nicknames for each member until I can figure each name.  Girl with purse dog, blonde guy. rich guy, Cristiana wannabe (from the other sunset show), gossip girl, goldigger girl. the list goes on.

So we’re recycling the storyline from Selling Sunset where one agent is judgmental about another’s choices and it goes on and on. Fun.

Bre having Nick Cannon's 564915th child and Nick not being a present father didn't affect Chelsea's business or the brokerage's reputation. That's why Chelsea was out of order.

If clients/potential clients are asking Brandi about Hall creeping with Tyler, that does affect the brokerage's business/reputation.

Jarvis is distancing herself from Rose for the same reason (inappropriate behavior/dressing).

Polly, Hall & Brandi spent all last season blasting Kayla for behaving inappropriately with Tyler so Brandi being upset at Hall and Polly for doing the same thing is actually on brand for Brandi.

Polly, Hall & Tyler actually should be sat down by Jason and told to keep the fraternization on the down low but he can't say anything because he dates all his agents.

I have watched the first 3 episodes.  I feel like everything is about Tyler's sex life.  Brandi is so obsessed with it.

Brandi is "Team Wife" so she's never going to cheer Polly or Hall pallin' around with a married (even though he's separated) Tyler, especially when that little clique had such a problem with Kayla sliding up on Tyler.

What was the point of the Nashville ex beauty queen? So someone just randomly pops up to an open house not even with the faintest hint of even being close to having a real state license and ask to be hired and they basically say sure? What the ….

For funsies, I decided to look up some of the cast members on the California license look up:

Ali does not have a California license. In some fairness to Ali, you have to pass 3 courses equaling 135 credit hours...in a lot of other states, you only have to take a 60 hour course.  A lot of people are able to take/pass the 60 hours course in 2 weeks in other states.

Ali also may have taken the course but not been able to pass the exam. Some people are not good test takers and the real estate exam is multiple choice and full of "trick" questions.

Polly's last name is not Brindle so she can miss me ragging on Jarvis for not using her first name.

Speaking of Jarvis, if I were the other cast members, I'd be mad (jealous) at her too. Jarvis just got her license in March 2021. This show started filming in November 2021.  Unless she is tapping into her fiance/husband's network (or had an extensive network of her own), there's no way she as a brand new agent is selling $20 million dollar houses out of the gate without a little help.  She does need to give Rose credit.

Also Polly is probably mad because she also got her license in 2021 but is not doing as well as Jarvis, who latched on to Rose and is probably using her fiance's network to build her client database. Polly, Hall, Austin, Tyler, etc need to focus on their business and stop worrying about Jarvis & Rose's.

If you have clients who are supposedly over the age of 13, with the ability to spend millions on a house, and they’re ragging for 30 minutes about what two consenting, single adults are doing in their spare time, the brokerage should tell the client to mind their own business and fire them. I call shenanigans on that chick’s story.

No brokerage is going to tell a client to hit the road because they have opinions about their agents' behaviors...especially not a client spending millions of dollars.

However, no brokerage is going to show an agent the door because of their private life unless the agent is not producing.

For example, Jason is not going to care if Rose sleeps with clients for listings if she's bringing in $20 million listings and closing them.  Jarvis may not want potential clients thinking that's how SHE gets down too (especially since she's engaged/married) but Jason isn't going to care if Rose is bringing in the checks.

(Now if Rose was operating a prostitution ring out of the Oppenheim Group office  he would let her go because he's not going to risk his license for her no matter how much money she brings in).

BRANDI's real problem is that she is Black* and clients who have million dollar houses or millions to spend on houses are probably NOT going to list with a Black agent (that they don't know).  That's probably why that client returned Polly's calls but ignored Brandi's. Polly is a new agent, she probably has the same amount of sales/closings as Brandi.  The "OMG Alex/Tyler" business from a client is probably a convenient excuse why the clients don't want to give their business to Brandi (or Sean, who also said clients were mentioning it to him).

*Chelsea from Sunset has a wealthy husband and she is probably tapping into his network of other wealthy people for clients.  Brandi needs to do the same with her husband's network of people.

This. Plus, this snit about Tyler's dating life is how she gets air time on the show. And maybe she has a little crush on Tyler too.

Gio doesn't realize when the new girl said "Bless your heart" she was actually telling him to f*ck off in her sweet southern girl way.

I  miss the days when these shows were actually about  selling fabulous real estate, although I guess this particular one has always been more "Real Housewives of the Oppenheim Group" than the other show in the franchise.

That’s quite a big assumption and one that doesn’t make much sense IMO, but to each his own. It’s also quite a jump to assume that other black woman on the other show is only successful because of her husband’s contacts.

Both women embarrassing themselves on this awful show could be why their business is not growing (if that is the case, which neither had stated it was). Stepping into a market like the OC takes years to acclimate to. People buying/selling those types of homes already have contacts in the industry. If you wanna break into that you better know people or be ready to hit the pavement and wait it out because it won’t happen overnight. This isn’t the equivalent of signing up with your local Remax office in downtown Podunk.

It would also help Brandi to realize the difference between talking shit about your friends and giving your opinion on something. No one asked her opinion about the two of them, she was caught spreading gossip and tried (unsuccessfully IMO) to spin it like someone was stifling her right to live by telling her to mind her business. Not quite Brandi.

Every woman on this show is terrible. They look ridiculous and sound even worse once they start talking. The men aren’t much better. One clearly wants to only be a model and the other looks like he’s aspiring to be a Disney prince.

The woman on this show are rivaling the ones on Selling Sunset... who can wear the most ridiculous getup while posing as a real estate professional? They are slightly behind as the SS woman look even more like Frederick's of Hollywood. At least there are some men for balance so it doesn't look like Jason's harem as it does on the other show.

Rose is coming across dim to me, or perhaps she isn't comfortable on camera. Austin is boring and I fast-forward his scenes.

The Nashville woman strikes me as this show's version of Chrishelle when she first showed up on SS, all girl-next-door, new kid on the block. But I'm wondering why they're wasting time given the woman doesn't live there OR even have her realtor's license.

It's obvious something is going on with Tyler and Hall. She is pretty but her inflated top lip bugs me.

I'm only on the first episode of the second season and, regarding Alex Hall and Tyler, I think the implication is that it was at least rumored that they've been hooking up before Brittany Snow filed for divorce, or at least that's what was rumored. I don't believe Brandi's pressed because of her client ranted to her for 30 minutes, I think since she is or was friends with Alex Hall she cared about her friend's reputation. Since Austin was making jokes about it (it appears for some time) and Polly was wondering what would happen if they ended up together, it seems the entire office had an inkling those two (Tyler and Alex) were more than friendly.

One thing is for sure, had it been Jarvis or Rose instead of Alex Hall, all the women would've called them all the types of bitches and whores.
