A lot of decent guests this week, too. Looking forward to Bowen Yang and the Fire Island cast, in particular. This will be the first time Sherri's been back since getting her own show.

I'm glad they won't have to deal with guest co-hosts this particular week.

Disney does have an island in the Bahamas (castaway cay) but the resort they are at is not there as there is no hotel on that one. The resort  they are at is currently $450 per night apparently. 🙄

They mostly tried to be lighthearted despite the dark news since they were in the Bahamas.

Personally, I liked Joy bringing up the guy hitting on Sunny...just because I know Whoopi doesn't like Sunny for whatever reason--and it shows. Joy killed me with the dancing at the beginning. She's the only one who was, the others were just sort of swaying.

Why should she shut the hell up about her views on a show called the view.  She said nothing wrong in my opinion.  All she said that as a catholic, she is against abortion but does not want to impose her views on others unlike those sitting on the supreme court.  She said that 6 people currently sitting on the highest court of the land is Catholic. Sunny brings up her Catholicism when it is relevant to the topic like today when the ladies were discussing Roe v Wade being overturned by Catholics.

I personally saw nothing wrong with Sunny's comments. She's able to express her moral view and her view of the law as a lawyer without attempting to force the former onto the latter, which is refreshing.

Good to see people only seeing what they want on here. I don't think anyone can take your opinion away simply by disagreeing with you? And I heard what was said on the show just fine. Anyway, I believe when Sunny says her stance has changed, she's never said that in reference to her religious views on abortion, only that she has a firmer belief in the separation of church and state than she did when she first started on The View.

Defitinitely allowed to have an opinion.   However ....  Sunny has been consistent on this subject since the leaked draft leaked weeks ago.   She said the same thing then as she did today.   That she is personally against abortion and being on the show helped her realize that it is wrong to push her personal beliefs on the subject on other people who do not have the same beliefs.     She previously was 100% in the camp of being no abortions for anyone for any reason.  So I have seen where Sunny can change on at least one topic 🙂.

Anna btw, also Catholic, has expressed similar beliefs on the topic.  She is personally against abortion but doesn't believe her beliefs should be imposed on others.    The Catholic church's official position is that abortion is a sin, no exceptions.   So not terribly surprising that Anna and Sunny have that personal belief.

Part of the tragedy of this nightmare is that there are a lot of decent people who have a sugar-coated idea of a young couple making it with a little pluck and a lot of prayer. I call them the Just People. Just have faith. Just work hard. Just have gratitude. Just choose adoption. Just get counseling. Just do anything except the thing your gut is screaming at you to do. 

And then their own kid gets pregnant and they say holy shit, this is going to ruin their entire life. Fuck this. I'm fairly certain that Sunny's opinion would further "evolve" if it was her child facing an unwanted pregnancy.

I'm not religious, but I totally understand Sunny's view. She personally thinks abortion is wrong under any circumstances because she beliefs life starts at conception. But she knows that's not what everyone believes and wants women who are going to have abortions one way or the other have access to safe, legal abortions.

At least Sunny's child would have her and Manny to fall back on. Most young adults do not have parents with that kind of $$$.

Now I REALLY want to go to Baha Mar’s Water Park! I was in the Bahamas, many moons ago, but I don’t think the park was there.

I would go on EVERYTHING except for the surfing ride, cuz, I can’t surf.

Sunny was so whiny during the bit with Sara. I’m sure it was all scripted. Kid professional surfer-like THAT wasn’t scripted.

I agree that Brittney Griner is being held as a political prisoner and that WNBA players make much less than their male counterparts.  But spare me the “she had to go overseas to make a living” argument.  She had to go overseas to be a millionaire maybe, but she makes over $200K/year.  She’s not poor.  There are definitely inequities in the pay system for female athletes, and that should be addressed.  But it’s not like she can’t feed her family on her salary.  

All that being said, I hope the State Department is really working on getting her home.

I enjoy Sherri as an actress but not as a human. It was really gross for these adult women (looking at you, Joy) to start a discussion about whether or not her teenage son is masturbating in his room.  Then we had to hear about Sherri masturbating. Why is the world so terrible?

I hope sunny realizes that the Roe V Wade reversal would have affected her 20 years ago since this whole "give personhood to embryos" is throwing reproductive medicine into disarray. She had her children via IVF and people in my IVF group are freaking out about what to do with their embryos and are trying to transfer them out of clinics in red states right now. 

She is just so close minded and near sighted, not thinking of the bigger picture.
