Not the season finale (that's next week!). Airing May 12, 2022:

Quote

When the task force discovers a threat to Stabler’s life, the pressure is on to gather all the evidence to put Webb away for good. Donnelly gives the Brotherhood surprising news. Nova is forced to take a drastic step to keep her brother safe.

Webb's soldiers must really suck if he needs an international hit woman to take out Stabler. And she sucks at her job too.

See, I get undercover work is part of the job, but since Stabler is the lead, it takes away all suspense. Dude's always going to make it (unless Chris Meloni leaves the franchise again!).

And yeah, I know that applies to all other L&O spinoffs and its actors, so you'd think the writers could think up some new scenario that would truly keep the audience guessing. Shrug.

WTF are they doing with Jet?

They really need to cut out the writing where she's the squad's little sister. Her hairdo looked ridiculous, and she needs to start dressing like a detective, not a goth girl.

I didn't think her hugging Stabler was cute, I thought it was cringe and demeaning.

The scene where he asks her to get in touch with her friend in ballistics was pointless. He's been in the Department for years, surely he knows more technicians than a detective 3rd grade in her first years on the job.

This ↑ and what about the unexpected visit to his apartment?  I thought there might be some hanky panky being initiated.

Also, I didn't get her comment about "you want some help cleaning up" then followed by:  "Thank-you for letting me off the hook"

Was that referring to the mess in his apartment or the case about his dad's gun/shooting?

I'm guessing Jet didn't get the EEO memo re: the hug with Stabler.

Also, why the heck didn't Webb just have Nova and her brother immediately taken out?  That made no sense at all.  We're also supposed to believe he didn't notice the burner phone missing?  As for the hitwoman, how long before Webb questions why Stabler is still walking around?

Interesting that Donnelly thinks he can walk away with no fall out.  Fortunately (hopefully) they wrap this all up next week.

Great stunts and actions in this episode. Love the brutal fight and foot chase between Elliot and Belladonna. When Jet told Elliot that his hitman is a woman, she sounded a bit proud, wasn’t she?

By now, Ayanna should stop telling Elliot to wait for backups because we all know he won’t.

Too much mama Stabler for my liking, she annoys me. And why Eli starts to look more and more like a psychopath?

So, papa Stabler’s partner - Gus is shady huh.

It was quite satisfying to see Nova shot her brother, he’s about to ruin everything. Did Nova manage to return the burner phone just in time before Preston notices it’s missing?

I never expect Donnelly to be such a coward, when things about to fall apart, runnnnn!

I hope the Brotherhood arc will be wrapped up in next week’s season finale. Don’t drag it into next season like the Wheatley’s.

Re the impromptu hug, I guess it’s now official that Jet is Elliot’s work daughter. Jet’s space buns may not be work appropriate, but she rocks that look!

I cannot believe they do not have enough yet on Webb or the Brotherhood for arrests. The only reason to stay undercover so long is to work up to the top of the gang. They did that a while ago.

And Webb thinking he can threaten a cop with no ramifications. What an idiot, the NYPD is a gang with 40,000 members.

I thought it meant "I offered to help clean [but would rather not] - thanks for not taking me up on that."  Like when you offer something to be polite but are hoping the person you're speaking to won't ask you to follow through.

The hug was so weird and random! I haven't gotten the sense she's felt overly close to Stabler either. And she doesn't seem the huggy type? In terms of techs, that seems more like something Penelope on Criminal Minds would have done!

Maybe the ballistics thing was touchy because he was investigating his father, so didn't want other cops to know about it? And he trusted Jet to keep it discreet?

Also, totally random thing, but in the warehouse, what was up with the Exit door opening in rather than out?

Donnelly has fallen into the Dick Wolf mode of cartoon criminals, just like Wheatley. His character has evolved into such an unbelievable mode that it is, oh yeah, unbelievable. Two million dollars buried in his yard that he was saving for a rainy day, GMAFB. Can't wait until he gets his comeuppance.

And on another note Preston Webb is running a close second in the cartoon criminal race, and he'll get his also.

He’s been in the Brotherhood for decades. With all the illegal monies, he should have a panic room in his house. Or at least a state-of-the-art secret stash compartment. Burying cash in own yard is kind of amateur, don’t you think?

It’s frustrating that they underutilize Jennifer Beals in this plot.

I am about done with mama and son. The grand standing about “I’m not leaving until you tell me why”. Dear god. Your daughter in law/mother was assassinated because of Stablers’s job. When he tells you to leave you f’ing leave. When the cop knocks on my door and tells me to evacuate I go. And asking Eli if moms has taken her meds - putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

Add in the wife and the brother who think they know best even though their cop relatives say don’t, there is nothing good to come from your actions   Are people really that pig headed yet successful lawyers and pastors.

I think it's a bad habit Dick Wolf picked up hanging out at CBS with the FBI shows. The quirky goth tech girl who doesn't understand professional boundaries is straight ought of their showrunner's handbook.

This is actually defensible and is more a matter of either poor writing or editing. It makes total sense she would have personal relationships with some of the tech folks and that Stabler would want a bit of distance and not make the ask himself. Both for personal reasons (don't want other people officially knowing that dad was dirty) and professional (his cover is a rogue cop in an out of control precinct so many of his old contacts are not likely to do anything off the books and most of those that would have to be suspect as far as not gossiping to the rest of The Brotherhood.)  A line or two of dialogue or a bit more focus on the UC part of OC and it wouldn't raise an eyebrow at all.

I guess you haven't seen the leaked scene online?

Spoiler

Donnelly abandons his wife and son and gets on a plane. We see Bell telling Stabler that the plane has crashed into the Atlantic and Donnelly is presumed dead. We then see Donnelly wash up on an island he looks up and there standing on the beach with a cocktail and a cigar is Richard Wheatley...

If this is true it will be the biggest COMIC BOOK HOAX on a prime time drama show and whoever thought up this lame idea should be banned from television.

I hope Elliot’s mom gets blown up next, she’s really irritating and I normally like Ellen Burstyn.  I’m tired of all her questioning and we don’t need more scenes of Elliot’s kids trying to keep Grandma under control when they can’t even run their own lives.

I think Jet was upset that hacker guy shrugged her off with the call and then when she dropped off the sneakers. I think they're reminding the audience she is cop not a billionaire tech head. She shot the guy the other week then she had the tackled suspect. By having her hang out with Stabler it shows deep down she is a cop. And unlike her hacker boyfriend Stabler has been straight forward with her. She appreciates the blunt honesty & trust he has shown in her.

I cant really blame the Stablers for wanting even some minor answers as to why they have to go into hiding again, but also, come on guys. When your cop dad tells you that you have to go off grid for a bit, not so long after your mom/daughter in law blew up in a car bomb, you should probably save questions for later. Like how you shouldn't run into your undercover cops sisters long term sting to wave a gun in the face of a crime lord like a moron.

I laughed at the big dramatic sting when they reveled that the hitman was a hitwoman, like we would all be so shocked at the idea of a female assasin. Its like one of those cringy 90s kids shows where someone shows up on a motorcycle wearing a helmet, beats up a bunch of bad guys, and then she takes her helmet off, shaking her long hair out as the characters eyes pop out in shock at the idea of a girl doing action stuff. Not that she's all that good at her job, how hard can it be to kill one guy?

Have I ever been known to be facetious or sarcastic about this franchise? I treat it with the respect it deserves. I would think the biggest comic book moment in L&O is the scene in the SVU promos where

Spoiler

Fin tells the perp "Benson can destroy you with one whisper from her mouth."

Would you feel any better about the big team up if I told you

Spoiler

When they get to Wheatly's cabin the Albanian grandmother is there on the porch?
