How can they terminate Pelham based on the word of one person. Did that douche Kilbourne have everyone else in her house perjure themselves too. Looking forward to Boden in all his righteous indignation.
Tuesday the Dalmatian is tote adorbs! I want to hug her. 🥰

These constant schemes of his make him look like an idiot. Although I did chuckle when he started talking about the next contest and the rest of the squad all started walking off in different directions.

Again with the drama between Stella and Kelly, as if anyone gives a damn.

I thought it would have been funny if Violet went to her chief asking if he had feelings for her and it turned out he was gay.

We know Boden will fix this thing with Pelham, but as always, it's a wonder to me how the real life Chicago FD views this show, because the hierarchy is always filled with assholes and villains.

I really don't understand what they're doing with these two.  Stella will have to do better than "I needed to figure some things out," to explain why she ghosted the man she supposedly loves more than anything for weeks. Kelly doesn't trust her now, and he needs to tell her that, because he is clearly not satisfied nor reassured.

Of course she will.  Stella will somehow get her to confess to the lie and the set-up, I think.

Hope the lying fire fighter girl is fired. Bowden won't let this go.

I'm guessing she's a pawn.  That Chief who hates Pelham probably intimidated her into lying, maybe by threatening her job.   Maybe he told her if she didn't lie and say she was following Pelham's orders, he'd fire her for making a near-deadly mistake.

When Boden was talking to Pelham at the end, and there was the dramatic pause after "They're recommending termination".... did anyone else think he was going to say .... "of McBride" (or whatever her name was)?  Ryan Seacrest used to do it all the time on American Idol before they cut to commercial.

Hermann is just a joke at this point.  He'll never be at the level of Severide or Casey (now Pelham).

So Violet and Gallo are completely done, not a chance anymore?  Looks like it won't be long before she and Hawkins become a thing.

I actually got a little chuckle over the demise of Hermann's latest scheme.  Maybe it's because it actually sort of happened that way in a city where I used to live.  The local radio station planned out a similar contest to be run over a few weeks, but a listener just happened to drop to one of the clues in the first two weeks, and found the treasure.  The business sponsors were not thrilled.

I've always understood that 220v, or even 440v depending on the line, would give you a whole lot more bang than just a concussion.  I know that a local firefighter here lost his arm brushing up against a live wire on a house fire.

Meanwhile, Mouch is running around without a helmet on.

I don't know how a Board of Review at CFD works, but he had the least bit opportunity, Pelham should have walked in there with diagrams of the incident scene, as well as the reports from the other personnel.  It's your job, buddy, defend yourself.

I have watched this show from the beginning, and I don't know who they are.

They’re from season 8, when Brett connected with her pregnant birth mother, who died right after giving birth to Brett’s sister (Amelia). Scott is Brett’s biological mother’s husband. I don’t think they’ve been back on the show since then.

I forgot to watch this episode live and don’t really care enough about the show to make time to watch on Hulu. Were they not actually in the episode?

It's the first episode I've bothered to watch for months & it's as bad as I remember.....I kind liked Pelham & Hawkins, can they keep those two & get rid of Gallo & Stella?

I really hate what they've done to her character. I swear at the start of the episode she was quick to try & blame Pelham right up until Severide told her that he believed him. Can't say I am at all interested in her taking over Truck 81, because that's where this is heading right? Don't need to see her running to her BF for validation every 30 secs. She was such a good strong female character...what the hell happened?

Gallo is a shallow, whiney, & very annoying. I do still love Ritter though, I just wish he wasn't yoked to that idiot.

Brett's character seems a bit aimless at the moment. They seem to be setting her up for a departure, whether that's permanent or temporary.

Hermann is infantile, and the dog is cute.

Stella has never really bothered me (I thought she was fine), but she’s getting on my last nerve! She ghosted Severide, came back and acted like everything should go back to normal, got all jealous over Kelly working with Seger, and cast doubt on Pelham. WTF, lady?!

I’ve never liked Gallo and would appreciate if the show paired Violet with the paramedic supervisor guy instead.

I’m not sure where the heck Sylvie’s story is going. Could be setting the actress up to leave the show, could be setting the character up to break up with Matt, could be leaving everything purposely vague...I just don’t know.

Please come back, Jesse Spencer. I hate all the added screen time for characters that annoy me.

Speaking of Jesse Spencer returning - he was supposed to come back for Stella and Kelly’s wedding. Are we sure the wedding’s happening, LOL?

Just as an aside, the medics' call about the man in distress has some basis in fact.  I just read a news article about a guy down in New Zealand who woke up with a cockroach inside his ear (presumably a small one).  The doctor didn't believe him about the irritation until someone finally looked inside.  Again, presumably, a 110 lb. medic didn't jump on his back and poke a syringe into his ear while he was gyrating around.

The gyrating comment made me laugh. That guys agitation was way over the top, for dramatic purposes I am guessing.

But yes, it does happen, quite often. I've nursed kids who were bought in with wildlife in their ears, maggots & the like. Sadly it's generally from kids who's living conditions are very sub standard.

I'm glad they didn't win the contest. $10k split among them wouldn't have been much, at least the guy who did win would have got the whole lot to himself. I am tired of his schemes, it's like they don't know what to do with all the characters on this show. Many of whom are quite boring anyway.

Also over "Girls on Fire" which depending on my mood and sense of humor either sounds like porn or girls running around on fire. Neither of which inspires me to think of them as competent fire fighters.

The actress who plays Brett looks like she is pregnant which might explain why she could be departing.

I'm so over Stella and her "Girls on Fire" group.

Can she just leave the show already? Every other word out of her mouth is this Girls on Fire. Great outreach program but does it need to consume your entire life? Sounds like an extra curricular volunteer activity you do on your own time. Not take a leave of absence from work for and ignore your Fiancé for weeks for. Also, the name sucks. Like, really, Girls on Fire?

This new LT seems like such a nice guy and just a victim of doing the right thing and pissing the wrong people off in a heavy politics work field. Hope this works it self out which I’m sure it will.

And Brett s been spending time with Casey would they write in a Brettsy baby?

I watched this episode tonight.

I don’t like Stellaride but am hoping this is the last time they have another will-they-won’t-they detour. It’s been six years of that now. No more. The show needs anchored.

I honestly didn’t think the show could easily rebound with a new lead after either Casey or Severide left, let alone have someone come in who fans generally seem to love, not resent, and not constantly compare to Casey. They landed a great actor with Brett Dalton (he nailed the end scene with Boden) and a good character with Pelham, who could grow to stick with the show if it goes beyond season 11 and carry it if/when Kinney (and Walker and even Mayo) finally leaves. The showrunners would be flat out shortsighted and stupid to write him off. Alas, this is Fire, so I fear Pelham will probably be cleared but decide to leave Chicago for a clean record elsewhere (just my speculation). Really, I’d let Kidd ride out the consequence of her decisions, keep Pelham on Truck, and then write off useless Herrmann (and Kidd takes Engine next season).

I’m getting anvil vibes that Brett wants a Casey baby and doesn’t want to wait 2.5 more years for him to come back. I’m not getting the vibe that she wants to break up - not with the kid saying his name and Scott telling her to not waste time with Casey. I could see a write off coming. (And yeah there were some interesting angles, editing, and possibly wardrobe choices for the few full body shots of Kara/Brett. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was expecting but hate to speculate.)

While I watched, I wondered if Haas (the showrunner) regrets how he handled Gabby leaving, given how seamless it’s been to keep Casey alive as a character despite the actor being gone. A lot of effort is being put into keeping Brettsey alive and I’m curious where that’s going.

The whole "investigation" of the electrocution was so annoying.  They wrapped it up in what, two or three days and they didn't even think to look at the physical site, where trucks were parked, and where people were standing, and who was able to see who?

I never disliked Kidd as much as everyone else has always seemed to but it's time they let her go.  I really really don't want to see her be Lt on truck or engine.

It’s yet another example of the writers having an idea for a story but not showing it. But, something I find interesting and even irritating about Pelham is that he won’t fight for himself. He was passively waiting to be removed from his command and/or fired. It was the same way when he wanted Truck 81 permanently, said he’d fight for it, but was really just waiting to get moved along. In this episode, I wanted to reach through the screen and smack him, when he publicly waffled about whether or not he gave the injured firefighter the order. Like, bud, I'm 100% sure you would remember if you told a firefighter to use a metal-tipped pole to control a live electrical wire. I would LOVE to see him develop as a character and regain trust in the CFD and in himself as a worthy officer, and I really didn’t think I had that much interest left in the show.

I liked Kidd until season 9 or so (…I think). There were glimmers of issues in season 7 (when she flipped out on Casey for refusing to let her attempt suicide to save Severide again and then spent the rest of the season angsting about breaking up with him) and in season 8 (when she absolutely needed Severide’s support to even think about going to a leadership event), but the constant hand-wringing about the exam and Severide's support in season 9 did her in, IMO. Now, Kidd saying that she ghosted Boden on the Truck lieutenant spot because she was worried she wouldn’t be “perfect” for Severide is the epitome of the reason why I’m over her. Her entire lieutenant storyline has generally been more what Severide thinks/wants/feels/supports/will do than about Kidd wanting it and doing it for herself. The writers have destroyed her, like they destroyed Gabby. The best thing that could happen is she becomes an officer at a different house or on a different shift, far away from Severide.

I think they are going to use the electric candidate as a reason for dismissing Pelham, probably out of the CFD. This will open the position on Truck 81 so that Golden Girl Stella can take that over.

Just like I said, doesn't matter what she does, everyone forgives her so that she never has any consequences. I HATE characters like that. I wish she would just stay away from Kelly and that Kelly would move on from her.

I must say that Stella seems that much more annoying since her return. She was judging Pelham from the jump. It seems like she actually looks down on him because he got the job that she gave away. And I rolled my eyes when she said she knew McBride from "groundbreaking" Girls on Fire. Of course. And exactly how old is McBride for Stella to actually be able to know her from Girls on Fire. It started only 2 years prior, and it was only for high school girls. McBride looks to be in her early to mid-20s. So it doesn't compute how deity Stella would know her from Girls on Fire. But as we know, facts don't matter for the writers.

And why is she sitting in on the discussion between Boden, Pelham and Severide? She's not an actual Lieutenant yet and has no standing. But I guess they had to have her input because the writers make it so.

And my problem with Hermann is that he doesn't seem to carry himself as a Lieutenant. At least not as one when he's not on a call. He's still doing childish stuff that he was doing before his promotion. And this is another indictment on the writers. They haven't tried to have his character grow as much as he should now that he has his own command. And quite funny how Cruz says there's no way Boden will approve them taking the trucks out of district to do training downtown to try to when the contest. Yet, the trucks were pulled out of service and the sirens were abused just so he could get to the hospital to see his baby born.

And in regards to Gallo and Violet, I have not much to say. Both of them acted stupid. And now Violet will be another woman on this show who falls for her boss. This is getting tired. Another woman on this show who can't find love the normal way, which is outside of the workplace.
