As the crew scrambles to get ready for a wedding that may or may not happen, Captain Sandy prepares to officiate for the first time. Meanwhile, Mat hopes to redeem himself after his disastrous first day and Katie sacrifices any breaks to help her team. Later that evening, the group’s first night out leaves some crew members feeling the love, while others clash in a big way.

Just a comment on Capt. Sandy. Minor, but struck me as odd how she had to make such a point about being “nervous” to marry a couple?

First announces it in the bridge, then again right before the ceremony (where her focus should be on the couple). So unnecessary to make it about her. This is the keeper of the ship. The top protector. This…. is what makes her nervous? C’mon.

I walked off and did laundry during the nuptials. She's so fake,  like that marriage.  Speaking of which,  the groom is one weird dude....

I don't feel like these stews deserve an awesome chief like Katie. She's been a real pleasure thus far. I can see how she was with Jack (he seems to go for the laid back /easy-going type) but glad she got away from him.  These women though with the cliche'd "I don't ever want to get married." I know it's tough out there and I certainly respect those who would remain single than get divorced later on or remain childless than be crappy parents- but more often than not, I feel it's a defense mechanism. When Lexi (???) "Miss Bahamas" stood there dismissive of the chef & devoured the lamb like that, I was mad *for* him. I know chef is a wimp & strange guy but that was a dick move on her part. And she lamented to herself in laundry "oh how was Croatia?...great, I saw it through a porthole." I thought "cry me a river!" She signed up for this career choice now deal with it. I have been bitter in the past & still sometimes get that way because in my youth, I worked hard- not smart, for very little pay. But guess what? Now I see that I built character & I have a house & always had my own $$ so I appreciate the struggle. And really- was Croatia ever on her bucket list of travels? It seems a bit obscure IMO. Not typical like Paris, Rome, etc.

The Deck crew is nice so far. Don't know all the names yet but the poor guy who's crushing on Malia already sure seems sweet as can be and he's cute.  Mzi is so nice but he looks like a toddler for some reason. I wouldn't be attracted to his looks because of that issue for me. Lloyd neeeds to ditch the 'stache. Yuck.

Her nervousness was as phony as she is.  And what was with her thinking that what she was planning to say was so special?  It was ridiculous how she sought confirmation of her special speech from one of the behind-the-scenes men we usually don't see unless they're introduced on episode 1, and how he basically snubbed her, ever so subtly.  She said nothing more than the bare minimum of the per usual standard wedding ceremony officiant words.  Completely UNIMPRESSIVE and NOT SPECIAL.  I still hate this beyotch, Captain A**hate and her a**-kissing sidekick, Malaria, more than words can adequately say!

Croatia ROCKS! Paris, Rome etc can definitely be over-rated, imho.

A Question for all: Would you waste your 3 days on a super-yacht completely bombed out of your mind? So many guest seem to do that. I don't see the appeal.

The groom must be loaded.........why else would she marry him?  He cries at the drop of a hat.  Just me?

I like the chef now that he came back and seems to have gotten over his anxiety attack.  His food looks great.  So what's up with Bahama pageant chick and her desire to drive chef crazy?  And have we ever seen a crew member just pick up food that was made for the guest and eat it???  It almost felt producer driven as it has never happened before.  She did not even ASK if it was ok.  And chef did not say anything when she did.  Who does that?

Not just one lamb chop but two!!!

Why was Chef more concerned with the little pile of dirt on the floor than Ms. Bahamas eating guest food?  Chef Matt reminds of the the Phil Hartman sketch about the Anal Retentive Chef.

I wouldn’t be bombed out of my mind. I’d be slightly and enjoyably buzzed the whole trip. So I’m enjoying the scenery, but having a damn good time.  I would not, however, under any circumstance, cry about a rainbow. Good gosh that groom!!

Do you think the guys draw straws to see which woman they are going to pursue? Or does production tell them?

We haven’t seen two guys go after the same girl in a while.

This new season should just be called The Voyage of the Motley Crew.

It seems so contrived by production. I think they are seeing a sinking yacht with this franchise and they're doing stupid shenanigans to try to keep it from sinking. If they get rid of SandyAss and MaLiar it might have a chance. About as much chance as I have of becoming a swimsuit model.

Am I alone in wishing Sandy would have plowed into the concrete dolphins?  She’s such a fame whore.

Ditto everyone who likes Kate.  She’s a breath of fresh air.

Ditto also Pornstache.

Pageant girl is very annoying.  The way she was gnawing on the lamb chops and tossing the bones back in the pan was disgusting. So much for pageants teaching her manners and poise.  Chef should have kicked her ass out of the galley.

This whole wedding looks tacky.  Sandy was terrible.  The weather certainly isn't cooperating, except for the rainbow.  Clint is an idiot.

David, stay away from Mal-ia.  She's toxic.  Lloyd is hilarious.  Decent tip.

Was that wedding even legal, was there a marriage license?

I am still outraged by Ms. Bahamas eating the guests lamb chops.

While watching the rerun marathon it struck me funny that in a past season Malia was on anchor duty and was holding up fingers as to how many shots the anchor was, Sandy was pissed because she said Malia's was too short and was unable to see her fingers but now as Sandy's favorite Bosun that is no longer an issue? Did Malia get taller?

Katie is a really good stew not only can she manage her staff but I loved when the guests were rapid firing drink orders she flatly told them that they had to cool or she would never get lunch on the table.  She diffused that mid day drink fest without pissing off the mid day drunk guests!

I don't eat pets lady...who has a pet lamb? Does she eat cow or chicken, they could be considered a pet too.  Terez's facial expressions and attitude reminded me of Elaine's roommate Tina, (Siobhan Fallon), who dated Kramer, Google it.

Thoughts:

Pageant girl fully in wrong, totally, completely.  I admit I care less about the food picking than the telling the chef IN THE GALLEY as 8th stew to worry about plating and not her kicking dirt around his kitchen.  I'm not a Ben-worshipper, but he would have had a word with head stew and that would have been done and dead right there.  I'm not yet convinced I like this chef, but he's been handling her as well as he can - going even forward in the scenes. 2/10

I thought Katie's vamoosing out of the hallway just in time was a great funny bit of physical comedy.  10/10.

JUDGY TIME!  I don't know whether it was on purpose, because as usual everyone seems just a little too incompetent to get work; but I have to say on the shallowest level of all time, this is the least-attractive set of boys I've yet seen on one of these shows.  (Except for the invisible first mate they showed for all of two seconds!)  visible crew 3/10; invisible crew 9/10

Finally, here's the haterade I'll give to Sandy.  If you whine and carp about the table setups, don't use a fucking cellphone to conduct a goddamned marriage.  I don't care if these guests are classless garbage and the wedding's a joke, print something out (I have NO DOUBT there is a printer on that boat) and put it in a goddamned folder like an adult or a luxury service leader would do, not a 17-year-old.  Bad, bad, bad service there.  0/10

OK, stay with me here as this is a math-intensive quandry, but here goes: Usually the tip (and I do this nearly every ep) divided equally amongst the crew we see on the show, plus the ones that stay off camera but are introduced in the first episode.  So, for this season we have 9 on-camera folks: 4 deckies, 3 stews, 1 chef, 1 captain (i.e,, 9 people) and 3 off-camera folks we met in the first episode, for a total of 12 people.  The tip this time was $25,800, which Sandy said came out to be $1,718 per person.  $25,800 divided by $1,718 equals just a tad over 15.  SO WHO THE HELL ARE THE OTHER 3 PEOPLE?!?!?!  Is there a whole shadow deck crew we don't see?  A shadow captain?  Is that why Sandy has time to reorganize the refrigerator?  I don't see Glenn having that time (my fav captain). Lee may have time, but I doubt he'd do it.

And I still want to know how close this was filmed to BDSY, because the Lady Michelle's crew was the crew they hosted on SY for the last episode and it was none of these people.

Extra people?  There's Martens the hunky first mate who we actually saw this episode.  There are most likely two engineers so that they can have one available at all times.  We may or may not see them ever.  Unless someone mixes bleach and detergent and makes poisonous gas again.

The shot of Z and Malia transporting the cake over those floating platforms was super funny.

And Miss Bahamas can go home to mommy right now.

Yeah, that's my point: we see 9 regularly: Malia, Z, David, Lloyd for the deckies, Katie, Lexi, Courtney for the stews, Chef Mat, and Sandy.  Then there were the 3 dudes who we saw Ep 1 who are the off-camera people.  That's 12.  The tip division leads to the conclusion that (a) there are 15 people on crew or (2) Sandy's shorting everyone.  I doubt it's #2.  Ergo there are 3 people we have NOT seen at all working on the boat.

Taxes?  Fees, Croatian or otherwise?  It's a great question, but doubt it's anything particularly mysterious.  If they are already showing the three invisible crew, I doubt there are three additional SUPER-invisible crew.

Not to mention the boat only sleeps 14 crew when on a normal charter where space isn’t taken up by production.

eta: I did a rough conversion and it appears they did the full tip amount in $ but the individual payout in euros. That math works out divided by 12 depending on the exact conversion rate at the time of filming. Currently, but it hasn’t changed hugely since this was filmed, $25,800 in USD is 21,87O€ which divided by 12 is 1,790€

I don't know how getting married on a yacht works, but they didn't even say vows to each other. Sandy was like, "Do you take her?" "Do you take him?" Okay, you're married! Was part of it cut out? C'mon, Sandy, Google some standard wedding vows if the couple didn't want to write their own. But, seriously, if you are getting married on a cruise ship or a destination wedding, where do you get your license? I've heard that in some cases (I guess depends on the country), you get the license in your home state.

Please, Lexi, go back to the Bahamas. I wish we had chef Ben to give her a smackdown.

I'm very sure the ceremony was edited so the audience wouldn't be bored to tears.  Ship captains have the ability to perform marriage ceremonies, although I wouldn't be surprised if this wedding was drummed up by production for show and the couple was already married.

I am a graphic designer by trade and worked for a local print shop. And I designed beautiful wedding vows on high quality paper with an awesome type style. Fast forward several months and I am at the local courthouse, getting married, and there was the judge, holding the very same vows on the paper that I designed. Point being - that was classier than this marriage on this yacht.

I would say it is similar to the season where Adam and Malia were a thing and then she decided to start something with the bosun.  Same ship, cheating on Adam (if she didn't want to be with him, a conversation needed to happen).  Malia's punishment was that she got a promotion from her boyfriend boss.

Why does someone always have to like stupid Malia? Her first season it was the chef and a deckhand. Last year she got Sandy to hire her own dickhand chef, this episode the one deckhand comments that she’s beautiful and he seems to have the hots for her. Puke.

Right,  are they getting fed enough?  She was a bit like a stray dog who hadn't been fed in weeks with those lamb pops.

Yes she is very condescending,  to everyone it seems.  She's constantly bitching about Katie and how she does things.
