Can we please replace Eboni with Bershan? I just can’t with her anymore….

Yes, Eboni, you and Bershan have very different approaches. You’re a condescending BORE and Bershan looks like she can kiki and still get her point across.

Well, real interns do.   But Sonja's interns learn to pack and run baths so no, they do not.

Whether interns get paid or not depends on the field they are in. For example, human services interns might not be paid, but interns in a tech field probably would be. At least this is the way it used to be!

If forcing Leah on viewers wasn't bad enough, now we have boring Eboni with her lecturing and preaching. They are making the show unwatchable. BRAVO should have brought Bershan earlier on.

I so agree...this show IS unwatchable. The constant fighting over political ideology and racial politics is really bringing this franchise down. We all see enough of that on a daily basis either in our own lives or on the news...we watch these shows for some escapism and laughs. Now we have to suffer through Leah's weekly "wokeness" and Eboni's "discussions". Whose idea was it to turn this franchise into a college political science 101 class? I'm all for dumping all these broads at the end of the season and getting a whole new cast. This used to be my guilty pleasure now it's just an hour of agonizing socio/political diatribes and immature sex talk about penis size and dildos.

She screams at Ramona about being what’s wrong with the world while she slowly morphs into a mini-Ramona.  She’s taking her child out of the diverse public school population to go to a private school. She moved to a white neighborhood.  She started on the hideous plastic surgeries.  Dyed blonde hair. She needs to look in mirror before judging anyone else.

That is because Bershan is a real person and Eboni is a political construct.

Systemic racism is a really hard thing to explain to a group of women like the NY Housewives, most of whom have had to game the system to a significant degree to get where they are today.

I mean, Ramona is the child of immigrants (and it's very possible that English was not her first language), LuAnn grew up in a working class family in Connecticut etc, etc.  I'm sure their first thought when someone starts lecturing them on "priviege" is, Well, nobody handed me a damn thing.

They don't honestly understand the fact that characters in the books they read as kids are the same color as they are or that authorities of all kinds will automatically view them more favorably than people with darker skin is a pernicious kind of racism embedded in social institutions.

I think if Eboni was clearer on the distinctions between personal racism and systemic racism, she might have a more receptive audience.  As it is, I think Ramona, Lu et al feel like they're being accused of behaivng in ways they honestly don't believe they behave.

Have you been to a bookstore lately? There is no shortage of children’s books with all different ethnicities.  Books on families with two dads, single mothers/fathers, transgender kids, Asian families, Black families, disabled family members, a lot of variety.   Eboni doesn’t like to discuss the progress that has been made. Slowly, but there is progression.

Plus I think all of the NYC housewives are from the Northeast.  Racism is more subtle than the South where Eboni grew up.   It’s easier not to be aware of it.

I'm wondering if Leah was not on the show, would Eboni be as preachy/teachy?  I think Eboni gets confidence from Leah being her pitbull, so that is why she continues to preach.  Perhaps if Leah wasn't so agressive as a "back-up" for Eboni, Eboni would lighten up a little and have some fun.

I know I’m probably driving some of you crazy with my repetitive PSA, but, on behalf of a horribly maligned “breed” of dog that suffers tremendously because of stigma: stop comparing noxious humans to pitbulls.

Based on the comments it would appear that I am not missing anything by no longer watching this season and also saving myself a frustration headache. Leah, her sister and Eboni need to go ASAP, (too bad that this season is already in the cans, paid for and edited so it will most likely continue on thru the reunion shows). Sounds like SonJa also need a little time ou

I think Braunwin and Kelly aren’t coming back on the OC, so maybe Leah and Ebony won’t either.  These two are just as bad, or even worse IMO.  Clean house why don’t you Bravo?

Ramona is a self-made woman and her money does not come from pinot grigio 😉

Ramona started a company called RMS Fashions, Inc. According to Bustle, Ramona's dad gave her $70,000 with the idea that she would become an entrepreneur. Ramona was 30 at the time and started RMS Fashions, Inc. When retailers have too much inventory, the company purchases it and then has discount stores buy it.

Bustle reported that Ramona was able to give her dad back that money after a month.

The publication also says that Ramona attended Fashion Institute of Technology and even worked 30-hour work weeks and got a student loan when her dad wouldn't pay for it. Although he did give her cash to put toward her company, he wasn't supportive of her getting a bachelor's degree in business.

Ramona and Mario married six years after she started what became RMS Fashions. True Faith, TruRenewal and Ramona Pinot Grigio were projects that she worked on and marketed through her presence on Housewives.

I admire her entrepreneurial spirit and her work ethic but also her good time personality. She should have gotten the twins and the fortune teller to Turtle Time with her.  That would have been infinitely more entertaining than what the producers gave us!

Thanks for the update, but maybe I missed all of that or they did not mention all of her accomplishments on the show.  I never bothered to research her background, only listening to what comes out of her mouth and what the producers show us.   THANKS AGAIN.

Eboni is basically an anti-white racist.

The simple way to determine if this is true is to replace “white” with “black” and see if what she says is acceptable discourse.

I think not.

That's quite a stretch unless you've fully researched her podcasts, appearances, writings, etc. Just as it's not fair for Eboni to call the others white supremacists, it's not fair to label her a racist of any kind.

I heard this a lot during the election. If one voted R, they were automatically racist and a lot of other 'ists'. It was hard to separate the politics and issues from the one at the top.

There was just so very much going on at that time, so I do slightly give a pass for Eboni's stance, because I also felt strongly about things I was hearing and seeing at the time.

I was just going to make a similar comment. This was in November and this sort of stuff was top of mind for many. It was a tumultuous time (still is).

I was never taught this in school so I can't help but be curious.  In fact, I was actively taught that the melting pot idea is harmful.  Was this melting pot theory taught in multiracial schools?  Or just schools with mostly white children?  Because if it's the latter, maybe you can see why it's no longer taught?  People keep bringing it up but..... I feel like that idea is no longer useful?  I feel like that melting pot idea cannot be that new.  I didn't go to elementary school recently, this was decades ago.  So is it really a case of trying to keep up at this point?

I went to a very diverse California grade school in the 70's and we were taught about the melting pot being a good thing. We also had that Schoolhouse Rock show that played on Sat am's about it, which was also shown to us in classes, and Yes!! I definitely *do* understand, and agree, why it's no longer taught.

I quite sloppily and clumsily was trying to express that we were heavily taught certain things way back when, and had to unlearn/replace them as the world has evolved.  I meant to separate the Sutton/Crystal thing from my own experience of initially not knowing what the 'align with white supremacy' phrase meant, and taking a sec to learn Eboni wasn't calling the others white supremacists.

That's why I wondered if possible generational differences are causing some of the resistance/conflicts? Or Is it insulation? Stagnation? Because, on both shows, it seemed like the older generation holds outdated views vs the younger one. Did they need a moment to take in and process what they were hearing so they could really understand and update their thinking? (Except on both shows, on one side there was defense instead of listening, and on the other side some exasperation. A little patience on both sides might help.)

For some years now, the move to finally become a more inclusive and equal society (not only regarding race) has been amazing, and has also involved learning new terms, (or new meanings to them), discarding others, revisiting/revising previous beliefs and teachings, and yes, that feels (at first) like trying to keep up at times, along with fear of making mistakes, even when onboard with it all. Sometimes changes, even when essential and for the greater good, can be a little daunting, and take a little time, even when one is open to it. (Am I explaining better at all or did I make hash of it again?)

Blaming another race for your struggles and problems is the essence of racism. Eboni ascribes all of the problems to a group causation and never takes into account individual actions or accountability.

She spouts off the phrases and buzz words like “white fragility” and never holds individuals responsible for their own actions. Group guilt is her stock in trade in her racialist kabuki theater. This is what they do on cable news not the Real Housewives. Hopefully she can translate this debacle into a gig where she can once again play the angry black woman who blames all of her problems on another race.

Because the true “fragility” is the ratings of the RHONY. She is driving the nails into the coffin on this trip to Salem. Ironic isn’t it?

Eboni and irony.

True but that puts her in the same position as Ramona and Lu. Lu was raised working class with very little money. That doesn't mean she grew up in extreme poverty either. In sense of economic class she is the same as Sonja, Lu and Ramona.

I think Eboni is being encouraged as Leah is to go after Ramona because everyone knows Ramona is an asshole, def not racially sensitive and an easy person to get to say some foul ass shite. I think Heather's comment about "articulate" said much more about how racial attitudes are not always in your face and can be said and performed by folks who don't think they are racist. That was much more a "teachable" moment than Eboni's Harlem Lesson and her baiting the Jerk off that is Ramona Singer.

I didn’t say that it did. I was responding to you saying that she came from privilege and used the examples of Whitley Gilbert and Denise Huxtable, two fictional character who grew up in affluent two parent households, as what her childhood was like and I was pointing out that neither the affluence or having a relationship with her father were true of Eboni’s childhood.

Reckless statements like Eboni’s are dangerous. It also serves to dilute the meaning and importance of the phrase. Miss Smarty Pants should know her history and understand the power of that term.

Further, throwing such labels out only creates more division.
Is Eboni interested in helping reduce divisiveness or is she interested in creating more?
