Bort April 9, 2021 Share April 9, 2021 Quote When Sheldon refuses to ride in a car after getting into an accident with Meemaw, Missy uses their trauma to her advantage at school; Meemaw is forced to take the church shuttle while her car is in the shop. ams1001 April 9, 2021 Share April 9, 2021 Wow, I always think Georgie looks young but that flashback! He was a baby and it was only a couple seasons ago! "...they gave him special milk to put him to sleep." "NO!" "Aww." Dr. Sturgis on the phone with Meemaw gave me the biggest laugh I've had in a while. "Bye!" Sheldon doing zoom school before it was cool. Marla Gibbs! Diane Ladd! And Dharma's dad! 1 17 Link to comment

Spartan Girl April 9, 2021 Share April 9, 2021 Of course Sheldon came up with the concept of zoom school and grocery delivering. Should’ve known that the show wouldn’t be able to resist doing a pandemic in-joke. Loved Connie cheering up the geezer bus! 15 Link to comment
chocolatine April 9, 2021 Share April 9, 2021 I loved that Sheldon took a cue from Missy and used "storytelling" to get a remote lecture and grocery delivery. He almost never acknowledges her good ideas, so this was special. It was funny that the seniors left the salon looking much more glamorous than before but Meemaw looked the way she always does because glamorous is her default state. 19 Link to comment

mammaM April 9, 2021 Share April 9, 2021 My love for Annie Potts knows no bounds😂. And while "geezer bus" was hysterical, my favorite scene (surprisingly) was her and Dale having coffee in the morning. I know, Dale is NOT a favorite around here, I not crazy about him either but the two of them chatting/sniping at each other was wonderful. Dale, "I like it when you're yelling and it's not at me", I think that was the best line of the night😂😂. And maybe a little insight into Dale😂😂😂😂 9 Link to comment

As did my mom. That's the point of going weekly to get your hair done. I crunched the numbers, and my mom could've bought me a house with the $100K she spent at salons from her 30s to her 90s. But Mom would never have ridden the "Geezer Bus." I loved MeeMaw being so generous and friendly with the other seniors. And yes, please, dear writers, have MeeMaw take them to Karaoke. And I want to go too! 10 Link to comment
Kenz April 9, 2021 Share April 9, 2021 Young Sheldon is the only sitcom I watch. There is rarely a dull show because the writers are excellent and the cast is wonderful. This episode was so good, featuring MeeMaw and her bus mates, Marla Gibbs, Diane Ladd, and the guy form L.A. Law (I'm old too). This is just a delightful show. 13 Link to comment

I knew I recognized him, but I couldn't place him. I would totally watch Geezer Bus-The Series. Mee Maw and June take the seniors on different trips, plus we sometimes see their home life before they get on the bus or what happens back at home when they get off the bus. I didn't recognize Diane Ladd, but spotted 89yo Marla Gibbs and the very versatile Alan Rachins immediately...his character 'Larry Finklestien' opposite Mimi Kennedy's 'Abby O'Brien' (Dharma's parents) was priceless...and of course Sheldon came up with distance learning...grocery delivery, however has been around for the better part of two centuries, but count on Sheldon to make it work for him. 4 Link to comment

Wallace Shawn does a wonderful job as Sturgis, but I think the writers should have stuck to the comedy Rule of Three for that bit, because it did go on so long. There have been several comments about it appearing that Missy has had a growth spurt and seems quite a bit taller than Sheldon now. But I would hope that they could give Missy some story lines that possibly do not involve Sheldon thereby avoiding the height comparison - if that is the problem. I also feel that Sheldon had gotten very self centered and obnoxious in this episode. He has no qualms ever about calling someone's superior to complain if he does not immediately get his way. When his mother tried to talk some sense into him, he just seemed to be so self involved that he didn't even consider what she was trying to teach him. It really is his way or the highway. Some self confidence is a good thing, but his attitude and behavior are beyond what should be tolerated. 6 Link to comment

tennisgurl April 10, 2021 Share April 10, 2021 Meemaw and her geezer squad clearly need a spin-off. We still need to hear them sing Blue Sued Shoes! I wonder how tall JP was at 12.... One of my college roommates is 6 feet tall, but she once said she wasn't significantly taller than her peers when she was younger, and started getting taller around middle school. And girls usually hit their growth spurt earlier (says the girl who was the shortest kid in her class for most of elementary school, and "shot up" a whole two inches between 12 and 16 to hit an adult height that can best be described as "decidedly average"). So Missy being taller than Sheldon at this point would not be unexpected. 5 Link to comment

Not by any means unheard of. I found this on Wikipedia. One of the names it cites is Diane Natalicio, who was President of the University of Texas at El Paso from 1988 to 2019. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_women_presidents_or_chancellors_of_co-ed_colleges_and_universities But of course the list gets dramatically longer once you hit the 21st century. On the other hand, I find it highly unlikely that a professor would have his arm twisted to deliver remote lectures by phone to a single student, no matter how "special." Provide faxed or mailed notes and phone coaching, maybe. Call me naive. 2 Link to comment

They can't go too far with the "sciency" stuff on the show without it getting incredibly boring but I think it's safe to assume that Sheldon really does have the kind of brain that comes along very rarely and that a university would move heaven and earth to be sure they get to have his name connected with them. 4 Link to comment
