Just to note, it appears some episodes were flipped, resulting in #9 and #10 being shown before #8. I don’t quite know how we should best account for that

Oh I see what you mean now. I was super confused because the new board didn’t start until “Matchmaker/Roybar.”  10 was switched with 8. http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/united-states-of-al/listings/

I agree with you. A regular allowence (as long as it isn't outrageous) can be a good thing. It helps kids budget and learn to save up for what they want (instead of constantly asking their parent to buy it for them), because it is a regular source of money.

I enjoyed that part. You think she's a wild-child/screw-up, and then find out she has a valuable skill/hidden talent.

Yes! To me, this proves that Hazel isn't a big of an entitled spoiled brat that some people seem to think she is. The day could have been all about her, but she wanted to include Al and share the celebration with him without anyone suggesting the idea to her.
