Something looks off in Maddie's eyes to me.  Like psycho eyes.  Many of the headshots this year look really bad. They age the girls.  Marissa really does look like some middle aged realtor as someone upthread mentioned.  It's flat out awful.

I honestly thought you all were exaggerating until I took a look at the pictures...Yikes! Alanna’s looks good, and there are a few others that are fine, but otherwise....they would’ve been better off using pictures from the girls’ IG pages. I find it very hard to believe that they couldn’t get a better picture of Sydney for example.

I swear, all the talk about "world class" and "elite" performers is a load of bull. They make sure they take a major struggler every year, and cut a better dancer to do so. They do that strictly for the show. The stupid show is more important than having the best team.

Interesting. If that's the case, then I've got a list of girls who are bad at hair and makeup (IMO). I ignored foundation/concealer issues because I know the lighting was crap and that could've played a big factor. 

Makeup: Daphne (overly contoured nose), Kristin (way too much shadow), Lexie (shadow isn't blended out at all), and Lisa (way too heavy under the eyes).

Hair: Armani (center part), Tess (overly curled at the bottom so tips look super thin and fried), and Victoria (all tease and no other styling).

I also refuse to believe Alora-Rose did her own hair, as it was always kinda messy in TC and never looked that good.

Hi everyone, a regular lurker (and Hannah supporter) here! I don’t ever post but just wanted to give my input/perhaps some clarity into the photoshopping on Tess’s blouse/vest.

I hope the image above has worked... but I’ve outlined what I think is happening.
 

Black: the vest outlines and creases. I think Tess’s rather voluptuous chest is causing a bend in the fabric causing a shadow.

navy: the sleeve outline and folds/creases

purple: the boot behind, outlined to distinguish where the boot behind and the vest appear to blend in together to create a line showing the backdrop, when they really don’t. 
 

also, added a second red circle to show the same crease on the vest above. I hope this helps people clarify what they’re seeing, unless of course, I’m not seeing something else everyone else is?

Pluto is easy breezy and 100% free! Not on demand, but gets the job done in a pinch. I buy the season passes on iTunes because I don’t have cable, so I own most seasons, but still play Pluto as background noise sometimes.

Honestly, as terrible as some of these head shots are, I think the squad photo is totally fine for what they had to work with. I don't care that the photoshopping isn't the best. It's totally fine to most people's eyes, and at least it was done safely.

The reason I'm not fine with the shoddy photoshopping is that editing is one of the few things completely unaffected by COVID regulations. Anyone with halfway decent skills wouldn't have left that huge white stripe. And each girl's edited photo should have been reviewed by the photographer and several people at the DCC (Kelli, Charlotte, etc.) which can be done with no contact at all through the magic of the internet. Everyone is safe when they're approving photos from the safety of their own home. The complete lack of attention to detail is WORLD CLASS.

Out of those ones? Jalyn's the easy choice for me. I get this sinking feeling that if she tries to return for a 4th season CMT and K&J will be chomping at the bit and cut her for a story line. She's already suffered enough in my opinion.

Other than that? I dunno. I'm starting to lose the will to care which is so sad to me. The off-season is usually the most fun because the core group of dedicated users usually come here and discuss at length over who's coming back, who's retiring and who's auditioning. And by the start of the audition process there will be "favorites" and such. Now however, at least for me, that fun is being stripped away thanks to this finasco of a season. I'm not trying to be rude or be too much of a buzzkill, BUT ... I just don't want to spend the off-season concerned about if someone is publicly drunk ... or sleeping around ... or ratting out teammates ... or being tone-deaf on world issues ... or, well I'm sure by now you get the idea.

*Sigh* Anyone feel like talking me off the ledge here? 🤷‍♂️😉

That's not actually Kristin's comment. Its some guy named Keenan. She did speak out but it was much more eloquent.

I completely understand where you're coming from, but at the same time I think that this year's off-season will be extremely telling as far as each girl's character. They really aren't doing any group appearances, so any visibility through the next few months will be solely through social media, and I for one think that the conversations on this board will be very interesting. Will there be some questionable posts from some of the ladies? Absolutely, but there are also some real class acts on the team still (despite us losing three of the biggest) that I think we'll enjoy watching through the next couple of months. I also think we're kind of divided on the retirement front - some people think lots will leave due to the disorganization and injustices from this year and some think next to no one will leave because they would want a better final year, so the discussions about that will be fun. Also, considering that the show was aired so late we've only got four months to go until auditions, so I don't think it'll be that bad!

Well, Kelly seemed to pick on Kristen, and Brianna a lot.  On body shape and dancing.  I thought since she chopped Brennan, Hannah, and Lily (my fav)and Meredith.  That she was picking the people who were next on her list.  Both of them were towards the bottom 36.  I will say this, Lily may not have been the strongest dancer, but she made the least amount of mistakes, and lots of other girls on the team are captured with the O mouth expression on their faces.  Season 14 she picked on Lily's expression.

I thought they used to be arranged by most seniority with rookies in back.  Why are some 2nd year vets put before some 3rd or 4th year vets?  Or are they arranged vet favorites, to least then rookies?

Thank you for such a wonderful and well-written response! Perhaps I was a bit harsh. Or maybe just cranky from work! 😂.

Either way the points you've made are very good and of course I will keep my eyes open to see just how many retirements we get this year.

And yes! Thank you for mentioning that there is still some real class acts. Looking back at my original comment I think I was just upset with the Brennan and Hannah cuts  I forgot this is a team of 36, not two!

I think there are so many unknowns for 2021 and so it will be interesting to watch where the spin goes.

It seems that casual viewers bought the show hook line and sinker and so ratings were up and therefore definitely another season on TV. Will they do another 2 week accelerated version? To me its interesting that the 2 week version essentially invalidates their need for a 10 week version. So which way will they go? If they go longer, does that invalidate the 2 week audition they just had?

 Also I do agree that it's so hard to read right now with which way the vets are going to go. They seem to be rallying behind the power of the star - several are doing dance classes and off shoots that are dependent on good recommendations and social media. So I don't see a mass exodus at all.

If so many girls return, will there be another veteran bloodbath? Hard to tell. Maybe Kelli will make that an annual part of the show now or maybe they'll return to a more traditional soft cut at finals. Perhaps she sees this season as a major success?

Point being - a lot of questions going forward.

If Maddie tries out again, what year will she be? 6th? I 100% think she will be back and be back for a 7th year too ... I think she will try to keep up with Sydneys 7 years.

That's what they say, but you can go back for years and find rookies and 2nd year vets in the front or second row.

For the most part, the back row consists of all rookies. The "knockouts" regardless of year tend to move up to the front quickly. I think with the cutting and pasting done this year, a few of the gals (from among the ones in a standing position) ended up in different places from where they might have stood had it been done live.

RE: the off-season updates..

I guess I too am a buzz-kill as I am not interested in a DCC who goes out to dinner with whom, who goes to a wedding. who is looking at a sunset, who is walking their dog, who went to Sephora/Ulta to buy lipstick, and posts on IG... That is what they are supposed to do offseason - live life, their best life.

Depending upon local rules regarding the virus - the 2020- 2021 offseason day-to-day life update could either explode (look a DCC is at the club) or be like watching paint dry (look a DCC is in yoga pose with her fav candle burning).

I just wish this thread was a little more organized, so it can be more useful for those of us that do pop-in  and pop-out off season and want an DCC update. Like an index of some kind to commonly asked questions - like who is retiring.  And a place for images. There are times when this thread can become IG-reincarnated images (mostly of daily life; some several screens long), with a discussion that makes other DCC topics to hard to find. I missed out on a few announcements/decisions/key topics b/c I didn't know how the discussion started . I had gotten to the point last season of writing down page numbers, as the thread had grown to 170+ pages.

Although I like her hair in last year's photo, I like the pose and her facial expression more in the new photo.

Victoria's cameo photo is from her Instagram account. Some of the girls posted their cameo photos on Instagram.

Honestly I am still waiting for DCC to post them on the website, but it's starting to look like they are not going to....which is BS if you ask me.

People definitely are still upset and voicing their opinions on social media. Some are implying that Brennan was referencing race when she said the direction the team is taking.  Most agree Hannah was more ignorant and giving a bitch attitude the whole time.  Overall, most opinions reflect Brennan and Hannah got outperformed.  Saw a lot of opinion that Lily came across as unprepared and had the gull to ask if there was anything else she could do.  Many feel Lily showed her best and didn’t measure up.  Most people believe the best 36 made the team and the vets should have bowed out gracefully.

Its reflective of the exact storyline and messaging the show hoped to deliver. I think its unfair but gotta admit Kelli is quite savvy to know her audience.
