Me neither. I just set the 11:00 airing to record because I am going to bed soon. The pilot looks 10 years older than his stated age. So far I like the engineer - I think she’s very pretty and she has a nice energy about her.

Whoa! The ordained minister guy just got out of a relationship 3 months before being selected AND he was engaged to that person?! Surely, he can't be ready this soon to move on into a married at first sight situation? His new wife is going to be a rebound chick while he still pines over his former fiancée or at the very least the failed romance. I bet that's what the new wife will be concerned about once she finds out. Oh well, we'll see how their union plays out on camera. I hope I'm wrong to be concerned about that short period of time from broken engagement with one person to full blown marriage to another. I wonder if either of his previous fiancées (he was engaged twice before) will take to social media & either put him on blast or praise his great characteristics.

I didn't expect it to start up so soon!  With that said I don't think we'll see more until later in January.

The pilot expects a young wife to sit home waiting for him while he flies airplanes?

The girl with all the makeup!  Move it over.

The finance guy has a mansion of a house.

I hope the old guy can keep up!

Steak and eggs everyday?  Heart attack on a plate!  Maybe not but I did it for a while and sure missed veggies and fruit.  Wonder what his mate will do with that?  Also, all I protein made my skin look greasy. Maybe me.

Strikes me as odd group.

The repartee among the experts seemed a little rehearsed and sometimes silly   Maybe been watching too long

LOVED it!

I don't, however, agree with all the pairings!

Clara and Ryan Spock-Ears? Nope.

Haley and older Jacob? Doubtful.

Paige and By His Own Bootstraps Chris? Only if he sees she is worth more than his designer-name shoes.

One other thing: "GROSS!" and "WTH?!" to the Nosey Parker-ish ferreting-out of the participants' sexual preferences, attire, and devices!

The good pastor and doctors like to stress that this show isn't "Date at First Sight." Well, it isn't  "Boink at First Sight," either!

Yeah, cleaned that one up. Sacrificed the alliteration, too!

Clara bugged the heck out of me for some reason.  Not sure why, and maybe I'll come to like her, but I'm kind of miffed that she got paired with Ryan, who, despite his unfortunate ears, seems to be a decent type of guy. I know Ryan has been working on Ryan for sometime now but maybe Ryan is ready for the real deal. Clara didn't come across as that.

I guess we will see.

I’m hopeful with the matchmaking episode that they are making for compatibility 🤞... not ALL drama. It remains to be seen...

I’m not sure about Vincent’s pairing... seems like he would have been matched well with Paige.

Does this play into the voice over in the preview....”She’s pregnant”....or however it was said...hmmm...juicy drama! I’m in!!

Lastly, did anyone catch Clara’s nails?? They looked like cat claws to me... just sayin’...

I laughed when the one whose parents had each been married and divorced at least twice (three times for Mom, twice for Dad) said "We are breaking ALL generational curses!" She also says she has dealt with commitment-phobes and I know that life.

I really don't like Clara while I really like Ryan, so am doubtful about that match.  Pretty doubtful about all the other matches as well.  I wondered about their matching Chris due to his recent break-up along with his expectations of his wife.  This season is looking to be a disaster and I am here for it...

I don’t remember most of the names yet but I liked engineer woman and the guy who gave his shoes to the homeless. The pilot looks kind of stodgy and they shouldn’t match people who only want to stay home because most people want to go out and do things. I always say one of the important questions should be “what do you like to do on your days off” because that tells you a lot. Pre Covid I hated being home on the weekends and my husband and I liked to have adventures in the city. I would hate being stuck with a couch potato.

Grandpa Jacob and Haley...it will depend if a Haley can overlook the 10 year age difference.

He definitely is a “senior” IT programmer......

Haley “27 Dresses” may not like his nerdiness if he can’t get along with all her friends since she is very social...he gives off “Bret-like vibes

That couple that seems to want to get pregnant immediately is very concerning. Have they watched previous seasons? I'm afraid that they won't take the time to get to know each other, with marrying a stranger on national TV, and now want to add a baby to an already stressful process. Yikes.

I'm only half-heartedly into this show anymore because the first 5-6 episodes are just too slow for me: all the repetitive "Are you sure you want to do this..." conversations that we have to watch with the bride/groom and their family followed by the same crap with their friends, nauseatingly lengthy scenes of trying on dresses and hearing again the same babble over and over and the finally waiting and waiting fo the weddings to be over with. I'll be back when they are on the honeymoon. I'm recording the show but will binge watch and ff through most of the first handful of episodes.

I seriously threw up in my mouth a little when I read above that Ryan spoke of himself in the third person. Lord.

Appreciate the MAFS PSA showing all the women in the greater Atlanta metro area to beware of the creepy guy who writes erotic poetry(you conveniently left your dirty journal open for Viv to see) talks of zip ties to bind his partner , shows her the 2 yoga straps in his bedside table that was used on his last partner a few weeks prior and said he would like someone who preferred doggy style only....what a charmer.....

Needless to say he was an Unmatchable.

Did Chris say he wants a submissive wife?  That could be a problem.  He also wants 7 kids to build his empire.

Yes.  I was ready to bail on him, but then he talked about having been homeless, and having learned from his dad to work for everything, and being self-made, and I felt a bit more sympathetic.   He also talked about child-rearing being about replicating himself. He seems very sex-obsessed and wants to get his wife pregnant on the honeymoon.  I am hoping that his match, whose name is escaping me, feels destined for what he has planned for her.

Two disasters I see right off the bat.....

  1. the guy in the barber chair.  As soon as he opened his mouth I thought please don't pick him.  He's extremely opinionated and full of himself.  Pity anyone who gets paired with him.
  2. The pilot.  He's not bad, but the girl they picked for him seems pretty immature.  She's a giant party girl and he would have trouble keeping up with her (though I'm sure he'll enjoy trying).  In a very short time she will get bored with him.

Favorite as of today Vincent and Briana.

Erik and Virginia seem well matched but since Erik’s first divorce bc he was gone too much, whats changed?  Virginia isn’t going to want to sit around waiting for hubby.  An older woman might but not a young one.

Yeah, I know I've been watching this show for way too long.  I'm so tired of the obvious mismatches and the over-selling by the so-called experts as to why they would be so right for each other.  Pepper saying something about there being some real concerns about a couple of them was swept under the rug.

I just know that the guy who wants a woman that's "intelligent, submissive and knows what she wants" is living in a dream world because no woman that's intelligent and has her head on that way is going to want to be submissive in any way to him, biblical or no, because IMO that definition is a bunch of BS designed to explain away male dominance in a relationship.  Isn't he the one that decided that there wasn't enough money in being a preacher?  LOL, at least he's honest!

Plus I have my real reservations about Ms. "This hem is a joke" giving off diva vibes already.  Or Mr. Creepy whole-house mancave/game arcade with a beach for a lawn because he hates mowing.  And he's the one that only eats steak and eggs?  Seriously?  Or Mr. "I'm an automobile broker".  Like dude, you're just a car salesman, stop spinning it like you're some kind of realtor to the stars.  And some of these guys have more shoes than Carrie Bradshaw!

Maybe I'm getting too old to watch this show.  They seem to deliberately pick people that have big issues or match people that are complete opposites just to see the shit fly.  This time they are pairing serious people with flighty party types.  Maybe that's the theme for the train wrecks this time.

I miss last season already!

Shows like this have what I call the "America's Funniest Home Videos effect." The first season, the videos are legit. The show collects a ton of them from viewers so for the first few seasons, the events are legit and hilarious. Then the newer submissions arrive and are full of scams: set up videos, bogus "falls" and whatever, all in the name of winning money. On MAFS, even though it's had a lot of seasons, you can see that more and more, it's all about exposure and cashing in after the show is over via social media. It has nothing to do with getting married because you're unable to find a quality person. It's a lark. Something to get attention for yourself. The recruiting of some of the people on the show just adds to that. The formula for the pros seems to be to match one couple who will become the darlings of the season, one couple who will be the ultimate trainwreck, and the rest are toss ups that lean to the drama/trainwreck side.

I wish they would have a version of this show for the 50 and over crowd who are not all about social media and simply do not want to be alone anymore: divorced, widowed, etc. It would be interesting to see. Of course, the first season of that would likely be awesome and then the older scammers would appear. But that's for the show to sift through and ditch those who are very obviously not there for the right reason. I would bet that this show has passed on some potential contestants because they were overweight or not that attractive. Those people were probably the legit ones, too.

I watched this with my mouth agape and hoping they wouldn't match most of these people.

Chris immediately had my hackles up with his evangelical buzz words like "train up" and "submissive." You need a very particular type of woman willing to be in a highly patriarchal marriage like that. I was thinking that Iris would be PERFECT for him. Look at the spoilers if you want to know some dirt on him, however.

Party girl and pilot guy are going to blow up fast. She's not half as mature or experienced in life as he is. She may do well with someone closer to her age.

Mr. Steak and Eggs is asking for colon cancer eating that much red meat and no fiber. He seems awfully rigid.

I don't feel that strongly about the other couples. It's going to be a disaster as always.

This feels like it's going to be a weird season, but what do I know? Lots of dogs, that's for sure. Seems like almost everyone has one. My initial rankings for how compatible they seem:

1) Briana and Vincent - I like both of them, they could be the Wamani of this season, although no one will top the OG Wamani.

2) Clara and Ryan - again, I like both of them so far, they have a shot of making it, although I'd like to tweak a few things about Ryan.

3) Erik and Virginia - less confident about these two, he might be too mature/settled for her. I probably would've paired him with Haley.

4) Haley and Jacob - she seems nice, he might be too rigid and set in his ways

5) Chris aka #BLE$$ED (rolling my eyes) and Paige - no, just no. She seems like a sweetheart but he seems entitled and arrogant. I don't trust people who say "God told me to do this" and "God spoke to me and said this". Blech.

Not even going to comment about the lack of social distancing and mask-wearing, because it will set me off. Bring on the trash!

I agree with most that Briana and Vincent seem like two nice, normal people who may be in it for the right reasons, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them.

I also agree that Chris and Paige are going to be PAINFUL to watch.  He is completely superficial and vain.  I mean, who rattles off designer names of their shoes to strangers unless they think it validates them??

The Senior IT guy who eats steak and eggs every day?  I know many people who have been on Atkins-style diets for years and they are perfectly healthy.  However, I don't know how she is going to feel about having to prepare and eat every meal that contains a vegetable all alone.  She seems very put together and she may be fine with it.  What she may not be fine with is him spending all of his free time in VR.

I think Ryan and Clara may make it.  I think they will be attracted to each other.  I don't know how he'll feel about her being gone all of the time as a flight attendant, but since he works out three (?) hours every single day, he may not miss her at all.

I am okay with Erik and Virginia. He may be kind of "boring" for her, but his family obviously has a bunch of money ("my family owns a couple of planes and a hangar"), so she could be fine playing the role of digging the stick out of the mud.  He seems very responsible, so he could help "settle" her if she's not great with finances.  They could make it.

ETA: Also had to laugh at the "experts" putting in all of those caveats at the beginning.  They are really trying to play CYA this season. lol

Yes!!  I got a very creepy vibe from that guy.  Not good.  Plus, I get the feeling he is heavily in debt.  The humble brag about the six figure job and then name dropping all those labels.  He’s acting like a baller in the top 1% when he’s only middle to upper middle class.

I rewatched the show and really found it nauseating what the experts think is compatible.

As a licensed psychiatrist, Dr. Pepper should have realized right off the bat that the last thing Virginia should do is get married.  Rather, she needs counseling to deal with all the divorces she's been witness to in her young life.  She talked quite a bit about how she's afraid to commit....red flags, anyone?  She's a sweet girl but just the little glimpse we got of her, she doesn't seem to be a very mature 26.  By her own admission she likes to party every night and gets drunk a lot.  Erik is a pilot and can't be out drinking the night before a flight.  I hope I'm wrong, but I can't help but think the experts, with this pairing, are setting Erik up for a quick Divorce #2.

I'm not feeling the same enthusiasm for Brianna and Vincent as some of you.  All experts agreed she has...in their words...a very strong personality.  She admitted she is not overly affectionate...experts said he was touchy feely enough for both.  He said he is too nice.  Rev. Cal gave this flash of wisdom..."maybe he will give her a soft place to land".  O.M.G.  My opinion:  He looks like a pushover and I don't think she will be attracted to that.  I see Miles and Karen all over again.

The experts found Haley & Jacob compatible because they are both dog lovers (major eyeroll....Brett & Olivia redux).  Haley seems mature enough to handle the 10 year age difference.  The experts mentioned warning signs, and then didn't say what they were.  I'm thinking they have a chance...both want to be married so we'll see.

Chris...not even going to mention the person's name they are pairing him with because it doesn't matter.  The producers want Chris.  They see him as the breakout star of the group.  He's going to provide the most controversy.  Let's not even get into the fact he should never have been picked.  It was hard enough listening to the experts try to talk each other into it.

I'm going to pick Clara & Ryan as being the most compatible (so what do I know...I picked Bret and Olivia last season).  Despite the mini hissy fit we saw Clara display at the upcoming wedding, I think these two will be very much physically attracted to each other right off the bat.  Ryan hasn't dated very much and Clara seems to have been around the block several times...not sure if that will be a problem.  Experts said Ryan has never told a woman he loves her and they thought Clara might need some affirmation rather quickly from him.  At first I thought shades of Christina & Henry.  I mean, they're both stewardesses, and one of them is very pretty while the other keeps repeating how hot guys think she is.  But IMO Clara has a lot of confidence in herself, which Christina never did.  When they told her she had a match and is now engaged....she was very excited and said something about I've got somebody and He's my man.  Yeah, if they were just dating that possessiveness would be a turn off, but to me it kind of showed that by knowing they matched her, she is going to be all in, whether he turned out cute or not (though he is very cute).  Keeping my fingers crossed.

One comment about The UnMatchables......what's so terrible about having your bed on the floor?  So what?  That means you shouldn't ever be married?

If I saw Erik and Virginia together in a restaurant...I would assume it was a father taking his teenage daughter for a treat.

Did anyone catch when Pastor Cal said that Paige might not meet Chris's standards of an attractive wife?  That is a red flag and sucks because Paige is a nice looking woman.

I feel like Chris might have a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget.

Also, I am going to need someone to tell me that this man did not just say an "ideal" situation was him getting his new wife pregnant on her honeymoon? It did not seem like he was joking.

Oh, so many things after watching this......

Chris is awful. No other word for him. He gives real Christians who serve God a bad name. Sex obsessed, money obsessed, extremely prideful. Doesn't sound like any Christians I know. Chris lives to serve Chris, not Jesus.......They fucked up badly by picking him. Poor Paige. She seems nice and deserves someone better than this narcissist. He was obviously picked for the drama, at the expense of someone else. Too bad she drew the short stick for being matched with the asshole this go around......

Eric and Virginia are this season's Christina and Henry. He is a bump on a log and she loves to party. They should never have been put together. I agree with the guy panelist that said the list of reasons they are a mismatch could go on all day. I also think they were mismatched on purpose. DOA. Looks-wise though, I think Eric reads old because of his old man haircut. Just update that 'do ala Ricky Bobby and I think he might be kind of handsome. Speaking of hair......

Hopefully Clara can do something about Ryan's atrocious hair style. It's painfully bad. They might be a success, but I think the fact that Ryan is religious and Clara is not is going to be a bigger deal than has been shown. But maybe he will win her over because he seems super nice, and she seems fun. I was kind of surprised by how many of those panelists gave this pair a thumbs up. I'm with Kevin - I'm not convinced, but at this stage last season I thought Woody and Amani would be a train wreck, and I was obviously wrong about that!

Steak and Eggs guy is the wrong personality for this dumpster fire show. Quiet introvert. He's too old for her. If they make it, I would be shocked. I feel like this pair is going to be one I won't remember are there. I can't remember either of their names......

I'm with everyone else that thinks Vincent and Brianna are the obvious success story this season. This is who I would put my money on making it. There are no glaring red flags. Is she uptight? Seems to be, but I think not so much that they can't get past it. I think they will be this season's Karen and Miles.......

Unfortunately, I think this is going to resemble the DC season more than the NOLA season. Maybe two matches will make it. I am just not sure that's enough to justify sitting through this mess........

I think he didn't give shoes to "the homeless," but to a particular homeless guy.  And I believe it was more than one pair, and if it's one thing homeless people have, it's plenty of storage space for multiple pairs of shoes.

I'm always surprised by the number of religious people who appear on this show.  Marriage seems to be a pretty big deal in most religions, and I have trouble believing God would choose a tawdry reality TV show as the vehicle for this sacred institution.  Seems to me God has already set up a way to find a person who's likely to be a religiously compatible spouse--at church.

This. Most Christians I know believe in the sanctity of marriage and try to avoid divorce if possible. If the odds are pretty high you are going to be divorced 8 weeks after your marriage, and they absolutely are on this show, then that wouldn't be okay or something to shrug off. This show doesn't actually care about marriage. This show makes a mockery of marriage. That's been proven by the fact that people like Chris himself are chosen, and they obviously mismatch people who have nothing in common just for the sake of drama. It's about making a tv show, not necessarily about making successful marriages - that's just a bonus if it works out! But then I suppose that is also self serving since it gives them more fodder for their spin-off Couples Cam. Having juuuust enough successful matches gives them a sheen of credibility, even though it ignores the absolute horrible overall track record. The only real "Christian" couple I think has come from this show is Gregg and Deonna. It's definitely not Chris.

What unholy weirdness was Steak-and-Eggs saying when Dr. Viviana told him that he was selected, and he said something about asking Elon Musk to develop a Tesla that is like a DeLorean?

When Dr. Pepper was telling Ryan that he was selected, she asked him if the news "took the wind out of your sails".  She appeared to mean it as in 'take your breath away', but what it actually means is to disappoint or make someone less confident.  Heck, maybe it really was the right saying after all!

For anyone who has watched the Bachelor/B'ette franchise, Virginia sounds exactly like DeAnna Pappas and has some of DeAnna's facial expressions/mannerisms.

Always nice to see the so-called experts exercising their skills selling producer-driven pairings.

This is the first year that I think the experts have completely foregone the concept that they did the actual matching.  In previous years, they've acted like the matches hadn't been made yet, and they were doing it as it was being filmed.  But this time, the matches had already been made and the experts were just discussing/confirming them.

Did anyone catch when Pastor Cal said that Paige might not meet Chris's standards of an attractive wife?  That is a red flag and sucks because Paige is a nice looking woman.

Yes Paige is a nice-looking woman.  But I think Pastor Cal is very correct to be concerned, because I don't think she is the type of woman that Chris, as awful as he is, is looking for.

That is probably a big indications that they should not be matched. Chris does not seem to be the type to look past the surface.
